A couple of the girls under the Mars light are getting quite purple. Just a waiting game now. The buds in my HPS room are all falling over, I have given up tying them back up. Just letting nature take its course now.
I really pushed the nutes this last feeding and am getting some burnt tips. It actually burnt my solo cup plants a bit much, they will be getting straight water from here on out. I’m alright with it though, the HPS will get one more feeding that illll dilute so it’s not so hot and then they will be on straight water until the end.

Oh come nowwwww, i was thinking the same regarding BigMike! It’s just genetics in my case, has very little to do with me… put plant in dirt, feed plant… cut the tops a couple times, up pot, flip, pull leaves off, viola!

So the HPS buds look like they WILL be heavier… they are mostly falling over due to bramch strength. The LEDS have stronger branches by far. BUT. The LED plants are done, the HPS plants are going at least 2 weeks longer and I feel they are now starting to surpass the LED in weight, mainly do to a longer flowering period. All clones, feed and techniques were the same for these grows. So, I now ask myself, do I want a quicker turn around with the LED or a longer flower period for a larger bud. I think a smoke test will be the final deciding factor if it’s a largely noticeable difference. As it stands at this point in the grow, I am bored, and am ready for the chop and to move on to my next project. If I weigh in the many other factors of the LED (ie. power consumption, lower heat output, broader light spectrum and penetration) the LED wins out by far for me

I wonder if even thou the hps buds might be bigger are they as compact as the led, should be a very interesting comparison

The LED buds are more c9mpact, from light squeeze tests… I can wait to get these both dried and cured to finish the comparison… the waiting is killing me

So I’ve been playing with colour AND macro settings with tips from @Pigeonman (thanks very much) and I think it’s upped my photo game. Time permitting I’m eventually going to get black and white backgrounds for the photos.

The HPS room is getting really floppy, and almost no red hairs yet. The Mars Tent is done, ill be chopping in the morning at the end of their dark period.
Edit: I may wait a day or 2 longer until the roots are dried out, they are still pretty moist from the watering last night

Pics from upper and lower buds in both rooms. The Mars room is done. In the HPS room I could only find 4 amber trichomes, lol. Needless to say I’m going to mix another batch of feed and check their trichomes again in a few days.

My plan was to have everything finished at the same time, to do a big cut and harvest everything at the same time. This is not the case as you can see. I’m now wondering if I grow (for instance) a 7 week strain in my HPS room and a 9 week strain in my Mars LED room if they will finish at the same time. One if the reasons I don’t like doing multi strain runs is the different finish times. I know I can space out starting them, but I like to feed all my plants the same feed schedule.
I want to be able to dry everything in my HPS room, but with my tent (or other strains if I’m growing them) finished earlier I have to use a different space to dry until my hps room is ready for harvest
More tests must be done!
