There are so many nutrients in the compost bin that I only need light adjusting to bring out the beauty in most of the plants… some can be a bit ‘needier’ but I got that handled too lol When I use any other nutes, I use General Hydroponics cal/mag, and micros, along with a bit of Superthrive, and mycorrhizae, etc
It’s funny that as a kid I would see the ads for Superthrive on the back page of mags and think ‘yeah, right’! lol but that shit is good!
Ive never tried the superthrive though Ive heard great things been messing around with lots of stuff lately fungal composting indigenous microbes my favorite part of growing learning new stuff just playing around
I’m curious how you manoeuvre the beans with tails from the castings bed into your cups?
I’ve had a bad luck run pre-popping seeds where they pop but die off in the soil after migration. I’ve stuck now to popping directly in the medium but really wanna try your castings technique next bean pop.
Edit: @cannabliss ; I just started using superthrive and am upset I hadn’t before. I opened the tiny bottle and immediatly knew the smell from my childhood when my dad had African Lillies and there was always a “chemical” scent around them. Turns out it was Superthrive! I reused 2 x 30gal worth of Promix BX overwintered and soaked in H202 before I planted into them again. It was an experiment in being cheap and the plants showed it when the fresh soil plants doubled in size. I amended with Superthrive (1/4tsp per gallon) and within the week they took off!
I’ve used a variety of things…a round toothpick, a pencil, my fingertip, but I like the little gardening tool made just for that. You can pick them up almost anywhere. it’s about 6" long and has a big taper on one end and a slender taper on the other. Gently set the root into the hole formed, then push close the soil around it leaving just a bit above the top of soil…
I love superthrive, but after running out and going to get more I saw this gem on the shelf, for only 5 dollars more. The size comparison is shocking though compared to superthrive, lol. You can see just how big the bottle is in my hand, and I got some big hands!
Well see how it performs!!
Looks like that says ‘seaweed’ which doesn’t make it bad but Superthrive has soooo many elements to it, I doubt it can do what the Superthrive does, but check it out and let me know. I use liquid kelp and such also
Okay guys. Educate me on super thrive. I got 500 ml and never use it because I never really know how or when. Teach me. I’m your sponge.
Agreed. I don’t know how it will perform efficacy wise compared to super thrive, but it blows it away in size and price lol.
it only takes a little bit!!! I use about half an eyedropper in 5gal…the plants love it. I’ve used for decades
In flower and veg?
Just asking cuz I heard in flower it can trigger herms. But you know how it goes with hearing something somewhere
Noticeable results? Awesome!
both yes…
I use it just as an overall healthy tonic for the plants. Just a bit will do, you can even use it as a foliar.
Would you use it in salts? Or just organic setups?
NEVER had any problem with hermies using it! Don’t believe half of what you hear! I attribute that to ‘user error’ in their growing
That I have no idea, I only grow organic. But I’d say, give it a try on just one plant to see, that way if it reacts unfavorably with the salts then you know…
@Chronickyle …I’ve used the Superthirve for decades, like I said. I would NOT tell you anything I didn’t truly believe in. I’m not about to tout something like this if I wasn’t 100% sure.
Oh yah brother that’s why I’m asking you man. I bought it years ago read that online somewhere and just stopped using it and never really any one with experience to ask. But here you are swaring by it. And I know you have lots of experience. So I think I’m gonna pull it back out for my next run.
Do you know how many ml that is
In my recent Supertrive experience I added it to my Gelato and Kosher Kush which were growing slow due to lack of trace elements left in my soil (testing out old soil, bad idea ). Well, it worked and I wish i did this at the START of my growing cycle with these so I may try it again with this in mind next year amongst other ammendments.
For flowering I’ve read to use it at 1/4tsp per gallon and use ONLY ONCE at around 2nd week of flower to essentially give it a boost like:
