Johnnypotseed’s 3-ring circus - with autos, photos & sex…reversals, that is! (Part 1)

What’s your method there? I basically give a few sprays with the spray bottle when I check for tails. So far its worked

It prob did! Eat the evidence bogs do.

The road that runs though the wetland sanctuary was re-done a few years ago. Before that it wasn’t really passable in winter without a 4x4; so they totally redid it to accomodate the amount of traffic that runs through that are now due to all the farms becoming subdevisions.

Well, NEVER TAKE THIS ROAD DURING A RAINSTORM. Not becuase it’s dangerous; but when it rains all the frogs seemingly come out to the road to feed… so it’s like driving IN A POPCORN MACHINE. Popping frogs for 2 miles in a straight line is fucking disturbing. Equally disturbing is that all the carcasses are gone by mid morning next day due to the local crows that are now the size of chickens

I was on my motorcycle several years ago. I came across a stretch of road that was literally covered with turtles. It was fun trying to dodge those sumbitches. They try to get out of the way but they’re not very fast y’know. Probly cuz of those tiny legs.
Anyways it must have been an orgy on the other side of the road cuz for about a mile or better I was dodging turtle shells.

Every-time I come across a turtle in the road I stop my car; watch the turtle to see where it’s going; then invade it’s personal space by picking the stubborn thing up and placing it on the side of the road it’s been trying to get too.

Love those living tanks.

You could not have done it that day. There were thousands of them. Literally. You would STILL be helping those guys cross the road.

I do that as well. Except for snappers. Kinda like my fingers. So I find a branch, tap em in the nose till they bite it, and drag em across. For as big and lumbering as they are, they can be fast when they wanna be for short jumps!

They gotta be to catch them damn frogs!!

Some of em, Alligator snappers for sure, have a little appendage on their tongue that they will wiggle and lie in wait. Regular snappers just wiggle their tongue. Fish comes to eat, and gets eaten instead. Great ambush predators, and those big ones, gotta respect em for getting to that age… Thats no easy feat…

I forget how to merge two images in paint or there would be a picture of Mario from Mario Cart dodging a turtle shell with your avatar as his head.

Nasty bastards!

The alligator snappers are dinosaurs lol scary bastards luckily we dont have them here in CNY just normal snappers painted turtles and red eared sliders for the most part little turtles except the snappers which can get pretty big I’m here in CNY like dead center middle of the state and all this around me is valleys and used to be swamp anywhere thats not developed is swamp most of the year I used to work for the state in historic preservation we tried to maintain a big section of the old Erie Canal and it was a trip to see them lay there eggs every year one day you would see thousands of fresh dug spots then some time later they would all hatch seemingly overnight it was always quite the sight turtle talk lol
