I’ll bet since your all natural your plants may be at the top of their BRIX readings ( something I’ve gotten into lately) you will actually have frost protection as well !:flushed::flushed::flushed::flushed::flushed:

Gotcha. I saw it said 2hrs ago and I’m used to seeing like 5hrs ago for you. I know because I usually see that and feel like a wuss for “sleeping in” to the late hour of 7 am

Great to see another composter been doing it myself for probably close to 20 years or so now at first I didn’t know much always thinking the hotter the better! Had a few getting above 175f or so always wanted to try cooking a chicken or turkey in tinfoil wrapped compost pile! Lol

lol usually by that time, I’ve already done my morning routine with the plants. Then back here lol

lol cuz, that ‘hot’ compost isn’t much good until you let it cool down. I bought a couple sq yards of it back about 20 yrs ago to get my bins started and it was so hot it was smoking! i cut it with forest topsoil ( a LOT) blended into a few amendments and then spread it out to cool off. Let is sit and ‘work’ a bit for about 2 months before starting to use it. The plants LOVED it!

I use a thick sheet of Shower Pan Liner from Lowes to line the bottom of my bins with, that way I can collect that sweet tea and not let it seep away that stuff is great for nute boost

Yea a started a raspberry bush 1.5 years or so ago from a sucker plant this year it got hugh with decent fruit been sitting next to my worm bin that’s a 30 gallon smarty… I’d say it loves my sweet juice that’s dripping from my pots !

Yeah, its so easy to do here too. I mean I gotta get rid of grass clippings and leaves anyway. And when you would move the piles that were made when I was a kid, the worms and soil beneath the leaves were better than any bag at a garden center. Couple of pallets, some long 10-12" timberlock screws, and ya got yourself a cheap compost bin setup. Plenty of tomatoes sprout in there in the summer from rotten fruit, one year we got the squash from hell growing out of it (couldn’t mow that part of the yard for months because we didn’t wanna mow the squash plant down).
