Johnnypotseed’s 3-ring circus - with autos, photos & sex…reversals, that is! (Part 1)

Well hell cuz ya know there’s always room for one more at my table. That’s just the ‘southern way’… :sunglasses: :+1: Just pull up a chair, kick yer shoes off n sit a spell…here ya go, fire this’un up.

edit… Just so ya know, lol I ain’t too sure on how much you going to actually ‘learn’ here since it IS my first attempt at Autos, but what say we learn together then, and just wait n see, cool?

I’m trying to learn… skimmed through from the top. Looks like the first batch ya started under 600w hps. Some of the later pics look like other lighting, did you change em up???

Just a short to bring everything ‘up to speed’ for the folks here… I was, at first, thinking about a little LST to help 'em boost a bit. But I decided to let them go ‘Au Naturel’ just to get a general feel for how Autos do on their own. After I get a bit more confident with them, well then, lol the game is on! So any ideas and suggestions,… from folks that actually know what they’re speaking of that is, is more than welcome. Y’all just chime in here! OK?

Observant fella huh? lol yep I have the 2-600watt HPS in the overflow BR in the house, after I cleared out the budroom for everything there now, I moved them into there so all the Autos will be together in same light schedule.

edit… In the budroom now there are 6-3x4’ fixtures, using EB gen2 strips DIY on wooden frames, 6 per driver.

edit… With the drivers not quite maxxed out, I know…It shortens the lifespan, but even maxxed, they’re good for a couple of years. Plus not very expensive to replace (I do have a couple spares for an emergency ‘blow-out’) lol

I’ve grown many under hps, would like to try some under led to compare but for now my photos occupy that space. Just curious, if you stayed under hps how many plants ya think would work in those 2gal pots per light?

I find if they’re REALLY going, topping them once at 5th node works.

I try not to transplant them at all, start them in their final container. Every day counts when you’re on that tight a timeline.

At a guess, without any ‘training’…ie; LST, Femming, Super-cropping, etc you’d be able to have 20…or rather, let me say I wouldn’t try more than 20 per light lol…
WITH special training? Hell, nowhere near that.

Thanks for that, @Yetigrows … I will keep that in mind for the following grows of new batches.

Very cool :sunglasses: had an extra room open up a few months back. Hung x2 600w hps in there, a 2x2, 2x4 tents and 4x8 should be here soon. Only started about 10 plants all different strains to see what I like :+1: seriously thinking of upping the plant count and running SOG.

Sea of green, or ‘SOG’ is always what I’ve done. I just do a light lollipoping of the lower stuff, and a bit of Femming or cropping in the early stages of growth.

edit… lol I really don’t care for (read HATE) screen of green, or SCROG…awful time getting everything unwound from all that lol

yes, they do the job just fine

I understand it is a pain, but it really helps maximize space and up my yield. Stupid nets though. Had myself hemmed into a corner last summer with mine. I ended up doing a lot of work on my knees, under the net!

Too damned old n busted up for that cuz! lol You know how it is with me, hell half the time I can’t even get up outta this chair when ya here to visit!
That’s why I hate the screen, not that it isn’t a damn good method, I used to use it now n then back in the days of my youth! :sunglasses:  :+1:

I hurt just thinking about having to get down on my knees!!

The issue is that I do too! I realized my mistake when it was too late.

If you use a bet, leave a path around your plant, all the away around your plant!

Wouldn’t miss it for the world. I have been hanging back watching for a bit.
What are you after out of this run? Flower or Hash?

Btw, that AC I got from you is working perfectly for my drying room. Glad I grabbed it from you when I did. Air conditioners are pretty dam hard to come by right now along with everything else.
