Johnnypotseed’s 3-ring circus - with autos, photos & sex…reversals, that is! (Part 1)

Haha no worries. Will be great too see what you can do with them! I just started doing lst to some autos. But I’ve never tried it on the extreme. It grows fast will prob do great with it.

I was thinking about doing it to some and let the others be, see the difference.

Yeah wonder what the difference will be. At least you have a few already as well to give you an idea on how the strain will do when you have more going.

They’re all standing up nicely too. I’ll be putting them into the permanent homes of 2gal pots in another few days. Great minds and all that lol I was thinking the same thing…do the LST to half and let the other half do what they will. Just to see if any difference.

Did you go 24hr lights on?

20 on 4 off

that’ll be where they stay the whole life cycle

Only auto I ever ran I just left the light on for the entire run; seemed to work out but was my first grow so the results were usable but I screwed up my feeding sched.

I don’t ‘feed’… only the trichoderma and mycorrhizae once a week, the nutrients are in my soil mix
with a little water every day

I was doing DWC in a 2x2 with a 3.5gal bucket…

…so lets just say that if you don’t top off a 3.5gal bucket 2-3 times a day during flower you end up with A LOT of fully popcorn that smells great and a solid lesson learned!

damn it! again with the running outta likes!
Anyhow, My soil mix is a combination of all the stems/fan leaves from harvest, and the household veggie waste, egg shells, coffee grounds, etc, with some perlite for aeration and worm castings, also have a shit-ton of worms in the compost bin.

I did 18/6 throughout. Basically if you compiled a list of suggestions on how to grow an auto- I did not that

I’ve seen other guys do 18/6 for autos too though so it isn’t that unique at all. I just feel like some dark is probably beneficial.

I run 18/6 on every auto as I only run them in my veg room. If I was just running autos I’d do 20/4

I went to a lot of sites for my research, since I knew there was differences in the grow methods. I’ve never grown Autos before, and didn’t want to screw em up doing what I always do with regular photoperiod plants. Most of the sites that do grow Autos a lot, specializing in nothing but, all said 20/4…so, that’s what I’m going with.

edit… Not saying the 18/6 doesn’t work. Another thing they all say is 24hr or anything from the 18/6 on up will do the job, but the 20/4 seemed to be the best consensus

Do you see a noticeable difference with 20 vs 18 on them?

BAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAA!

Yeah that’s what I’ve seen too just haven’t gone that route yet. I only have two autos under my belt so far and I wanted to experiment. I’ve got a Ghost Rose auto right now under 12/12  Last minute addition to my already flowering run. @repins12 has run them 12/12 and switched them to longer light cycles after they enter flower and gotten good results so it’s an option.

The way I understand it is ANY light timing will do, since they’re ‘Auto’ meaning you can have them in your living room with just the regular overhead light in the ceiling for them. But, I’m trying to maximize the true potential…

Oh yeah I know. I’ve seen 20/4 heavily advised for them so for a straightforward grow where you’re trying to yield as much as you can makes complete sense. I just like to get weird

Still my first auto that I broke all the rules on got me right around a pound :sunglasses:

That’s what I’m hoping for lol on all of them at the same time…That should deff pull my nutz outta the fire… :sunglasses: :+1:

Greetings…doing another Giveaway/Donation-Fund Raiser in September. Certainly would welcome ANY contribution, FULL credit given. I’m on the “up 'n up”, I think. Others may or not vouch for that statement. Anyway, thought I would throw it out there. Do stay safe, take special care, and be well…mister :honeybee: :100:
