Just A Handful Seeds

Anyone have any experience with Just A Handful Seeds? It’s nice to see they’re trying to preserve some of PeakSeedsBC’s IBL genetics. I’ve read good things about their Island Sweet Skunk crosses.

You could probably find some interesting stuff in his catalogue and the price is right. But it’s a lot of chucks and he used to post a lot of weird stuff about some online stalker, kinda puts me off.

I have a few packs from my early growing days around the start of legalization. The service at the time was good. I grew the Burmese Berry no issues, not my favorite smoke.

If you do a search on Reddit you’ll find some good reviews and some scary ones…

I have been a customer for a long time, also since legalization like the guy above. I have always had amazing results, and to the other poster here, Jay does anything but pollen chuck. I can’t think of any other breeder who has literally been using the same old school genetics for a decade now with their seeds? Most breeders use their chosen parent plant(s) and pollinate many others with it. Island Sweet Skunk and Blueberry crosses are amazing.

I have some of his recent “The Purps” crosses going, and they look fantastic (Purple Wedding Cake & Purple Member)… His “chucks” are when he takes suggestions from customers, like these crosses. I wanted to try out a Wedding Cake cross, and he suggested I also try the Purple Member. One of his customers is a part of a Discord group that buys expensive clones for $800+ each and this is how he sourced the clones to do those “pollen chucks”. By clones pre-vetted from many other growers and gets given the best of the best. (I suggest grabbing some ‘The Best’ seeds from them if they still have them.)

As I mentioned before, the Cinderella 99 IBL and Northern Lights IBL from Peak Seeds are being added to my collection for my next indoor runs. Outside I bought one each of their “Canadian Outdoor Bundles” where it is legit 42 seeds for 42 bucks (sharing with friends who grow). For strains that all perform well in Canada. And make no mistake, this is the guy for outdoor beasts! If you don’t believe me, just buy a pack of “Sweet Sputtys Secret” for 15 bones (14 seeds) and see what the chatter about their gear is all about.

I ordered on the 6th, my payment was taken on the 9th, and I just got my tracking info. For around $200 I am getting 3 grow bundles (126 outdoor seeds) and 14 Cinderella 99 IBL. That pricing is bonkers.

Hey JAH. You should consider a sponsorship

I ran across this thread and added my experiences with the company? Thats what the person posting was asking, right?

Fair enough. But you do seem to know an awful lot about JAH seeds (and write in a very similar style)…

By chucks I mean crosses, there are 15 pages of them for sale on the site. Which is fine, there are some interesting selections and the price is right.

What’s not cool though, is selling repros of PeakSeedsBC gear for almost twice what MikeJ ever sold them for.

Here are some Purple Member from JAH Seeds.

And some Purple Wedding Cake

In my case I paid for seeds but never got them, it cost me a $100 to learn… Never again.

Got his blue cheese some years ago and am growing it now. It has a nice blueberry cleaner sort of smell to the stem rub.

Decided to grab some blue cheese bx as well as it has more of the paradise seeds cheese in it. So far they’re smelling light and sweet in veg, but I’m excited to see how they do in flower. :slightly_smiling_face:

I just got the jahseeds 40% off coupon email and came here to see what people had going on! Seeing this it would be fun to do a Blue Cheese and Blue Cheese BX side by side like yours. The BX in yours look like they need more N. Are all the plants in there being fed the exact same?

In North America?

It’s funny, I think it is just because of HOW GOD DAMN DARK THE DINAFEM CHEESE IS! :joy:

Seriously, I’ve never seen a plant get that dark in veg without N toxicity, but yeah by comparison, the blue cheeses do not look even close. :yum:

But yes, feed is all the same: pro mix, bone meal, blood meal, worm castings, greensand. They have been doing good for a while now, and I just gave them a good shot of worm bin leachate the other day. :slightly_smiling_face:

Jah’s blue cheese is certainly interesting, and two of them have certainly been leaning on the blueberry side. One of the bx’s smells of delicious blueberry lemonade, and I can’t wait to hit it with some dinafem pollen.

Hope those seeds treat you well, growmie!

Is worm bin leachate good? Is it the same as worm compost tea?

I’ve found it just fine tbh. :woman_shrugging:

People get so paranoid because “oh no anerobic bacteria” but forget that there is anerobic and aerobic phases of soil anyway. As long as your compost is nicely broken down and you haven’t composted something with a ton of persistent pathogens, you should be fine.

I find it quite similar to salt based nutrients. Generally decently concentrated and available, with the added bonus of some phytohormones from the worms.

Study showing phytohormones detected when extracted from the solid phase of vermicompost:

I wanted to check out the forums about the Sweet Skunk stuff. Just started down the rabbit hole with “Breeder Steve”. It makes me want to order some Island Sweet Skunk from jah and the Sweet Skunk from Peak Seeds to run side by side.

Why did Steve never throw shade at the guy from PeakSeeds for the Sweet Skunk, but did all the others?

Well if it doesn’t hurt them! I wish I had the space to brew a really bubbly worm compost tea.

Nice!
Yeah I’ve seen some crazy ferments with the active aerated teas. With that mollases and a bunch of barley in there, they get real foamy. :ok_hand:

Oh hey @IndoorsBetter have you or anyone you know run Jah’s Sweet Stardawg?

I was considering it but wondering about its aroma profile

Not that one. I have done their Blue Supernova which was Stardawg and Blueberry. Wish I had kept cuts. It had pink hairs, tonnes of crystals, and the combo of that chem funk with the fruity Blueberry. Great harvest too.
