Haha thanks @Wuachuma :joy: no photos tonight but a minor update, I think I’m gonna throw all four of these plants into earthboxes this weekend and flip em once they tap into the res. I was thinking I’d wait until they sex and clone em and then transplant but being as I’ve got other seedling and clones on deck behind em I’m thinking I might just roll the dice. If there are males in the mix I’ll make seeds, if not just get some flower and then move on, can always take cuts later in flower if I feel necessary but the winter is whittling away and I’ve got nothing flowering and a bunch of shit backing up, not to mention I’ll need to crack seeds for outdoors soon, so it’s feeling like it’s time to turn and burn!

Alright, here we go. Doing. The. Fucking. Thing.

Thanks to all the SIPs evangelists who got me to this first run, very excited.

This has got to be the fastest I’ve seen a group of plants bounce back from transplant:

Side note: I always feel a bit like a voyeur checking in on em from the tent camera.

Edit: @CrunchBerries what would you say is the average amount of time it takes em to get their roots into the reservoir?

Probably a couple days to a week depending on plant health at the time of transplant. Once I see signs of new growth I flip, or risk them getting too large. Looking good brother!! Excited for you!!

Yea dude I’m sitting on a hair trigger for the flip, can’t wait to see if this will be a sensi run or a seed increase :joy::joy:

Crunch go with me on this one, let me know what you think: I had the thought yesterday that I could pickup one of those snake cameras they use to scope drains or look behind drywall to thread down the water tube and check to see if there are roots in the res. what do you think? Too much?

 does the tube sit up far enough from the bottom to get the thing in there?

Now that’s a good question. I just assumed it was knowing that it raised up to allow the water to file the res but now I’m second guessing myself on that

they are going to explode

Yea I’m kinda getting that impression, gonna have to flip quick, need to go down there and throw in a top dress so we get started off on the right foot.

I don’t really think it’s necessary, but it might be cool to check under the hood occasionally. I use the reservoir water level and new growth as an indicator that it’s time to flip. How are you checking your water level?

Haven’t bottom watered yet, but my plan was to just follow the BAS method they show on YouTube of just watering when the res runs dry. That’s what I did with the tomatoes I grew this past year at least and it worked great. I’m assuming that since you run the probiotic method you’re keeping your res full all the time?

In an EB I keep my soil reservoir topped off from initial setup till close to chop day. I try to end with a dry reservoir to make it easier to move. The EB directions call for keeping the reservoir topped off, because that is part of the system. In diy’s I try to find the watering sweet spot, b/c they may get too wet.

Did you pay penance to the god of fermentation and make some LABS?

Looking great!! If you’re unsure about when to put water down the hole, put like half a gallon down there. And then when that’s gone, put a gallon, and just ramp it up from there.

And I’d say if you already have the snake cam, shove it down the tube after lifting it an inch, or shove it in the overflow. But I don’t think you need to go buy a cam.

And yes, keep that flip on a hair trigger, especially if you see a plant out stretching the other one in the same earthbox. They can go berzerk quick!

@CrunchBerries does this look like an acceptable sacrifice to the fermentation gods??

Probably do a foliar tonight
