Trade with @Pawsfodocaws from Washington farm collected over years in mid 70’s . To telling what will show up, that’s the fun. RKS, Red hair Sensi, Haze, Maui, hawiian. Guess we’ll play “name that Plant” Most of it should be first or second cross I would guess.

Nice! Just a peroxide soak? Heat pad? Paper plates?

Did you find it sleepy as well? (Udub ) finishes outdoors at 49 north now (this guys line). Thats nice in itself for breeding, but I never did like that sleepy stuff much. I dont mind getting baked at night sometimes but i like to be awake awhile to enjoy it before the crash…

10% peroxide soak in a shot glass. Heat pad in subdued light under clear moisture hood. Sprouts in mini pods then small cups once leafs go green. All looking Sativa heavy.

70’s seeds…

There are so many different possibilities that may be found in those 70’s era seeds. All kinds of landrace, heirloom and hybrid strains were coming in from all over the world.

Those seeds you have are the same type that I learned to grow cannabis with. There will be a lot of tall lanky plants with thin leaves and flowering times anywhere from 11/12 weeks to 20+ weeks. There will also be plants that are visibly indica leaning and everything in between.

It would definitely be worth it to be able to pheno hunt a 70’s seed collection of unknown origins. You have the possibility to find something no one has seen in 40+ years… or have never seen!

Keep your expectations on the low side for grows with unknown seeds of any age… you’ll have a better experience during the grow by allowing the stand out plants to show themselves over the rest.

You’re going to have a lot of fun with this first “that 70’s seeds” grow!

You just got me really excited. Would love to see something that makes flowers like I’ve seen in old calenders! @Instg8ter… i hope you make beans from ALL long flowering plants from these seeds. Lucky guy.

THANKYOU! I ordered 2 packs guerrero to get oaxacan and vintage mexican ( any idea what that is?) freebies. I hope they are the real deal. Thought oaxacan went closer to 18 weeks? I dont know. Heard it called Christmas bud because it was done around Christmas. Does anyone have any good ideas as to where Mexican varieties came from originally? Let’s assume here for a minute that the Western Hemisphere had no marijuana prior to the 1500s. I have heard the arguments that Mexican landrace’s are older than that. And I don’t disbelieve that.(I believe its likely) But let us skip that subject entirely and assume europeans brought it over. Where would the Spanish have gotten it from? Did some other European country introduce it somehow.?I have read Mexican lineage is Indian or Nepalese most likely. (And also let’s leave out BOEL’S contributions to the genepool.) Any thoughts? Any specific region of origin?( in other words if it’s from India what state?)

Mid 20’s tonight. Warmest winter in years. Coldest May in years. Its not much different than it has been all winter here. I say winter…it isn’t over yet where i am. Snowed probably 6 or even 7 days out of the last 2 weeks. Sounds like Oklahoma isn’t “OK”( see what I did there :joy:) either. Freezes this late are very uncommon down that far South. Those Malana seem to be catching their stride. They started growing very fast. I used Myco fungi from seedling stage this time around. I would normally add it when I up potted into quart sized containers. It always seems to make the leaves a little bit wonky for a couple days when introduced, but when there are only are a couple leaves on the plant, it’s a little unnerving. I thought maybe they didn’t like the light I had them under. Just a couple of runts, and I wouldn’t even really call them runts, they’re just not quite as big as the other ones, which are getting their 3rd set now. I can’t wait to see a full size Malana leaf. I remember reading about Malana cream when the real Seed Company was still young. I’ve wanted these for a long time. Should be a nice healthy seed lot. Plenty of variety. How are you making out this season?

Could be wrong, but I think 16 is pretty long for Oaxaca. El Dorado is 11-13, but I think it’s not 100% pure. I have some el dorado, so maybe I’ll do a side by side with them.

Oaxacan cannabis is a highland variety that is a pure sativa and can take anywhere from 10/12 weeks, on up to 20+ weeks depending on where it’s growing.

Eldorado is a 50/50 hybrid of unknown parentage and boasts a flowering time of 11/13 weeks and it originates from Oaxaca, Mexico.

I think it’s not a 50/50, but the language from Nirvana is somewhat obscure. They say something about backcrossing, which seems like crossed it to an indica and backcrossed it to the Oaxaca “several times”.

But that’s really just an assumption on my part, because there are other possibilities, such as they inbred the line and backcrossed to a clone from an earlier generation to produce seeds.

So this could be a real deal healthy oaxacan population it seems… it isnt feminized anyway…or an s1…thats exciting! I’ll get in touch with cryptic labs and try to get more out of them. So… that leaves Michoacan and what other Mexican landraces to be found? What is the Jarilla de Sinaloa? Landrace? Heirloom? From Cannabiogen. Anyone grow it?

Hit @Pawsfodocaws up he’s looking to trade up for landrace and cross seeds. Sent me 20 to run, should be a fun journey. Looks like the Moroccan will be up for an expansion. The Purple bleeder is a big dominant male. He has stretched over a foot in a week of flower. He Showed 5 days into 12/12 before the girl even shot a pistol.
