Yep, I put 3 of the Durban, 3 of the 4P Haze, and 3 of the haze from Todd Mc. He sent my friend 3 vials of 5 because he wanted a while or something, and he sent me one. I plan on keeping a clone of all of them so my buddy can have them if he gets anything worth making seeds with.
I know, huh? This was from another guy our age on another forum. He sent me these as a surprise gift. I found one seed in them and started it but it damped off on me. It was the first to open in like 2 days.
I saw he sent a message and said he could send me a few more. A friend of his from Norcal sent them to him, but it seemed like he couldn’t get any more… He’s been saving the selfed seeds I believe. The plant was beautiful with open structure and nice chunky buds. Maybe I can pull a pic from the forum. It was the most unique homegrown I’ve smoked in a long time. It was a beautiful thing in all departments. Even the little yellow nanners looked cool against that purple with the orange hairs. Hope I get some. They may all be female so maybe we could marry it to @Instg8ter’s Purple Thai like he said.
Anyone is welcom to join in. Any heirloom or landrace from Mexico if you have it or can get it. Central and South America included too. Would be great for you to join in the fun. Do you have anything that fits the bill?
Here’s the male I used. He is very resinous and expressed trichomes before pollen even started to drop. I want to go back through the f2s in search of a purple Goji or another standout to make a large batch of f3s to trade or share. I have pollen I’ve collected to make a few hybrids with Oregon Huckleberry and Blue Tara but I haven’t started to flower them yet but it’s going to happen this week.
Man, same here. I just want to know what the damn strain tastes like, lol… I’ve never been promised something more in my life and I’ve still never seen it.
Goji OG is very piney with a strawberry on the exhale but it had a sourness to it that is hard to explain well at least my keeper from the f1s was . There is quite a bit of variation in flavors depending on the pheno and the generation they were from. Another member described his keeper as sour apple jolly ranchers, raspberry cut, of lemon cut and so on. Lots of good stuff in the Nepali line I mean the napa cut that everyone calls Nepali OG.
I have some stock of the Manipuris from 2016, but it turns out seedsman (officials rsc retailer at the time) may have had the stock for several years before selling it. I’m excited to try that one and hybridize it to some modern indicas for easygoing growing.
Ive never grown anything quite that long flowering so I’m also a little intimidated to start these.
Like all above just give me a shout out whenever those goji f3 are done !! Hopefully i got something you want to trade with or if your doing a giveaway
Just to reiterate, my RSC 2014 kumaoni is available to anyone who is able to try advanced germination techniques like the pressurized seed bomb, or chemical techniques like gibberellic acid.
In particular Id like to do this as a seed donation for a community preservation seed run.
edit- same goes for my 2014 Malana Cream. In 2017 RSC added a footnote to the descriptions of both of these lines, saying that hybrid contamination occurred at the source by 2017.
These packs are from earlier collections before hybrid contamination was introduced, so these lines are high priority for preservation due to their historic importance, genetic purity, and distinctness from the contaminated lines at the origin points.
I can see some interesting crosses coming from the pollen of all the Mexicans. I’m looking for a columbian gold for a bx to my Monkey Paw, I guess in a pinch the best AG we come up with will have to do. Also have a green/gold Mexican, family heirloom coming.
That might be interesting…
A while ago we were kicking around some ideas about germinating difficult seeds. The idea of using an ultrasonic cleaner came up. The thinking was the cavitation bubbles are like micro depth charges (when they implode really close) and would help with the uptake and thereby improve the seed germination.
To test that idea we would need a lot of low germination seeds for A vs B testing…
and that was were that idea was left dangling…
I was thinking along the lines of old hemp seed to work with. Then, if it showed promise, move on to ‘the good stuff’.
The Manipur I mentioned is actually coming from a different source directly india , still waiting for those to land. I’m really looking forward to growing it out as it has a blue looking color to the nugs that is very uncommon.
There you go again…you know you’ve got a “whole heap-a-lot” of OG’ers jonesing!!! Waiting impatiently for a hit of that “good-good”. I haven’t heard/read ONE person say anything negative about the Goji. I just put a Lawn Chair out next to the Mail Box, neighbor’s stares be damned!!! Do your thing, be well/safe.
