How would you be looking to split it? By variety or divide each variety? Do you know how many seeds per variety would be included?
The Sarkhi variety alone would be a big motivator for me.

12 seeds of 10 sites. Would be looking at splitting each site. Seed increase and whatnot could change up those splits.

From a genetics standpoint you’d be better off splitting by sites and doing open pollination with all available seeds per site. Could take a long time though.

That’s my plan for any of the landrace lots I track down. Open pollination with select pairs being isolated for my own projects.

I wasn’t on OG when this project started, so I’ll do my best to sum up the whole grow here.
Mexican Death Sativa, Nierika Seed Trust (Bodhi)
I scored two packs, one from JBC and the other from Headies Gardens. Did a full open pollination with the intent to give the beans away (more about that later); 10 females, 12 males, 0 hermaphrodites.
From what I gather: Jim Ortega created the original F1s of Mexican Death Sativa…. Bodhi open-pollinated a bunch to make seed, and I’m open-pollinating for others to get their hands on the genetics. So my beans are essentially unworked F3s, and it’s up to whomever to work them further.
I’ll attach pics when I finish typing. The female smells ranged from Tropical fruit, to pine, to sandalwood, catpiss, and what I can only describe as ”yep, that’s pot”. Shockingly enough none were overly stretchy indoors but YMMV. One male had broader leaves, most narrow to hybrid-looking leaves. MOST males and females were pretty early (earliest female was 10wks…. The remaining ones are between wk 13-14)
None of the males were resinous. But more importantly, none had any intersex traits. I did whole plant pollinations. Once the females were fully seeded, I culled the males that were pretty ”eh”; selected five that caught eye:
1. One was a beast, originally early in sac production, and continuously dumped pollen. He was also large and non-fussy. I chose him for being the biggest, having the biggest (yet similar) cluster shape as most of the others. (Culled for throwing pistils in reveg)
2. The densest clusters & squattest structured male. He was also an early one. He got the most attention when I posted my original pic. I chose him based on those features and because he was a crowd-favorite. (culled for low reveg vigor)
3. The red-stemmed male. He was the only to exhibit this. Plus he took longer to actually drop pollen, so I gave him a second chance. He also put off some strong smells (culled for low vigor)
4. Strange leaf & also large sac cluster. He had my eye from the beginning. If you see one in my earlier pics where the leaf color looked off, that’s him. He also had a shorter stature and early sac production.
5. Had the most vigor/side-branching naturally. He also had a large-ish sac cluster. He was the wild card.
#4 & #5 are still alive & thriving. Never were any signs of intersex during reveg
I promised a few friends and some ppl on reddit some seeds. For myself, I’ll probably select a few from the three females I liked most, mix up the rest and keep a healthy bit for myself. Everything else is being given away. I just bought mylars, labels, and centrifuges this morning. I’ll probably make a post on OG when everything’s ready.

Currently growing a Herijuana seed run (hopefully - I’m in week 2 flower and haven’t found a boy yet…)
If this strain smokes like it grows, I’ll be keeping it around uncrossed -
Also have Malana seeds that I will be running soon.
BUT - the Heri are getting much larger than I expected, so growing a true sativa is a bit daunting - I’m talking with an outdoor friend about using some of his space in case training them gets beyond me.
I have a thing for old-school strains - really excited to trade / give back!

Last “growing” update for my MDS. Just chopped the last of the girls. I got some dates mixed up in my last update (sorry). I don’t wanna tell you how long they’ll flower since I was solely focused on seed production. What I can say is that I waited until beans were bursting out of the buds, and the plants were nearly bone dry.
In the end, there was the one tropical fruit pheno, most (i.e 4) had a soda-ish smell… with some citrus-orange notes, two had an earthy with spearmint notes, and three was pretty muted on the nose.
No intersex. Heights were easily manageable. Without overselling it: they were all early-ish.

I am also trying to get my hands on this one. All the sites selling the Kazakh landrace are sold out, I contacted RSC (they seem to be the one providing for other sites) for some info and they said they don’t know when they will have availability. Does anyone know someone that would still have this strain, or simply know anything other than what is said on RSC? It is really dear to me. The only other “Kazakh strain” I’ve found is the Ata tundra from seedsman I believe. I really hope this isn’t a lost strain…

Me! Wanted to do so on its initial drop but no one was interested.
I actually emailed fullpower because they did a recent post saying they’ll be selling individual packs now like baba ko’s Afghan collection. They said not yet at the time and to wait. I just checked the email to verify what I’m saying and they emailed me again saying individual packs are now available $150 each.
I’m still willing to put $500 at most towards the full pack if anyone is interested.

I’m pretty sure I have them, i have to double check , but not from TRSC though, but directly from the guy that sourced it for them.
He is Alaska based,so you might have still a chance to get some with out dealing with customs and sht. If you are on IG and want to have a try, check the guardian of the lost terps, he is a nice fellow.
He also have more Landraces and heirlooms from Russia and surrounding areas.

No the landraces wouldn’t be from the UK, the landraces I would like are Jhelum basin neelum Valley Kashmir, maruf khandahar, arghandab khandahar, manar Ghazni, pure Afghani, purple mexican landrace, packi chitarl kush, Hindu Kush.
