All good . Iā€™m just wondering what strain names if anyā€¦ I guess there may be some gems in the low grade that is seeded , readily available commercialsā€¦

No known names ( that I know of), but that doesnā€™t mean shwag necessarily ( as you pointed out). At the very least high yield, disease/pest / mold resistance, low nutrient/ requirements and vigor would all likely be passed on to any offspring. And you may just hit the lottery! Loads of great genes came from nearby! GOOD LUCK! I scored some great sativa in Costa Rica a while back. No beans thoughšŸ˜£

Old post I know. But I read that our captive troops in n Korea along the yalu river picked wild weed that they credit with hunger suppression ( thcv?) Immune system boosting, fighting ailments, and laughter in the face of an awful existence. Sounds like my kind of sativa! Many of these captives grew up during reefer madness and had been afraid to speak of their experiences up until quite recently. Yalu river is n Korea China border.

Hey Iā€™m looking for a landrace strain the more northerly and humid the better I can offer trades

How far north? What type of other qualities are you looking for? I am hoping to have some malana seeds this fall, and I would be happy to share so you can add them to yr collection. Or maybe gman has some extra. All I could offer you now is a couple ace seeds strains. Depends how humid, but purple malawi was hardy and mold resistant and goes 10 to 11 weeks. Great daytime/ work weed. I also have panama (from ace) that i would be happy to give you, but although they flowered quicker (8 or 9 weeks) than malawi, they werenā€™t as mold resistant or as potent, and tho i am offering those they are better indoors imo.( Pic of it earlier in thread.) Ur pretty limited in the north unfortunately. Himalayan types have a good shot at making it ( some will) nanda devi is one Iā€™m looking for. Itā€™s the earliest Iā€™ have found. The real seed company version.Have you visited the azad Kashmir thread? This region ( kashmir) is one of the only areas that produce" kush type" ( the look I mean) plants with greatmold resistance. Diggy is doing a preservation run of those and there is room on the list. Level 2 trust needed. Chitral in Pakistan has mold resistant phenos too. Just West of kashmir. When is yr first frost? Bob I just realized we are the only two on this thread for a month lol. Hope some others join back in. There is a landrace seed swapping thread. Iā€™ll pist the name in a sec.

Landrace expansion and trade thread going now.@ Bob13

Qualities im looking for is 5-15% thc and fast flowering. Bigger is preferable but I donā€™t mind. To answer your questions around 52n so the further North a strain originates from the better.
First frost is as early as September the 30th averaging at the 6th of October and as late as the 14th of november.
I have signed up for the kashmir and look forward to trying it

You are farther north than I am, but our Frost dates are very similar. I have been researching varieties that would work well in our type of areas now for about a year. Very limited options as far as landraces go. Kwik seeds currently offers a multitude of autoflowering strains, however they have little THC. But I am talking large Autos. Up to five meters. And they would finish flowering in our area no problem. It would be great to cross into any other land race to Quicken flowering times. As far as the Himalayan varieties go, youā€™re looking at Rasol, malana, or nanda devi. Some nepalese as well.

How about something like this? I just picked up a pack and havenā€™t grown any out yet, but they look like they might be a good option for you. 45N here. :v:

That sounds amazing if it truly holds up to whats said on the website! I could send you some autos from my seed run if you like in exchange if you are offering for a trade. Hopefully it will be a few different strains all including blueberry which i have heard should be a winner here too

Sorry, I wasnā€™t clear. My plan is to grow mine out this summer, but it sounds like it might be a good option for you. Weā€™re also considering doing some autos this year to make sure we can get a full season outdoor crop. We tried to do a hemp field last year, and it didnā€™t finish even close to in time.
