Landraces and heirloom (Part 1)

Great question. Took the words out of my mouth.
I have some tiny balkhi in the garden right now. Supposed to sour would love to hear some feedback on people who have taken her the distance

Thoughts become words become actions. Revolutions begin on an ideological level. The first step toward making change is understanding the nature of the problem.
What’s happening now is just like what I did in the Army. I was in mortars, and attended a course called IMLC (Infantry Mortar Leaders Course), which is a 6-week course that teaches every single aspect of every mortar in the US arsenal. Just like anything else, attending the course is one thing, applying it in the field another. I may have graduated the course, but I still had a lot to learn. Cannabis will almost certainly be the same.

Time to up pot those bigger plants. Go to half gallon if size concerns you, one gallon if it doesn’t. Every time you grow landraces you will have more healthy plants. Gets easier and easier. Mine weren’t pretty the first time. Once they get some roots, they’ll grow nicely. Don’t be afraid to let your containers dry out in between waterings. They should be light when you pick them up, but not bone dry. Surface dry is what you want.

Oaxaca ladies I’ve dubbed " the three sisters", to honor the local Iroquois history. A 4th is male😁. I have a feeling about these…

Then we have some 73 Durban, redstem( petiole) pheno, just one being red…
A 1970 Viet Black from @YoBigdaddy
A couple Lolab Valley Kashmir…note the crazy lower shoots growing straight out, and the extreme reaction of the plant stem and leaves to catch the early sun.
And finally, an Illaqai Nasal, putting on some branches after being topped at the 4th node

I’d love to know more about that Balkhi too. I’ve heard it can hit some crazy thc levels. Lime is definitely found in this one, though I haven’t grown it yet. Sent a few Khalifa genetics freebie seeds to @Kasper0909 so we could get a look. It’s been combined with Sheberghan, but that’s the same area of Afghanistan, so it should still represent well.

i dont think that. lol
i said your theory is that the high thc found in some affies is because a Hybridisation in 1930. I dont think anything, based on the the sparse info i have…

Im not even shure who made the 25 percent finding in Afghani, wich afghani…

but it lines up with a thai that i heard has 22 percent.

Hoping these are both girls as they are showing no signs yet.

Forgot the upright Meangreen pheno. Beautiful structure and gorgeous red stems. At week 17 of flower and hardly a stigma. This one is going to go thirty weeks. Stay tuned for Meangreen Oaxaca

That very well could be true. It’s a hell of a puzzle to try to put together. South Asia is such a melting pot of genetics I think we are basically dealing with old stabilized polyhybrids in many cases.

@romanoweed Lol. Good idea. We’ve beaten that dead horse plenty of times!!!:sweat_smile::rofl:
Did you catch that meangreen photo above? Week seventeen of flower and not even a stigma yet.( just preflowers) This one is going to crush my record of twenty three weeks flowering with the lambsbread last summer.

@Herrsquidward Here’s 2 different angles of photos of that bushy vb plant above, hidden in some weeds. Can you find it? Go ahead and zoom in😁
I assure you it’s no easier in person…
Photos snapped from 20 feet away. I know where it is, and I can’t find it
If you don’t have anything to hide your plants in, then grow something to hide your plants in/ among. Let the weeds around your place grow up and mix them in. Plant some vines/ pole beans. They make a fence in about sixty days.

So the bigger plants I should up pot on sounds good. They have been running 22/2 from seed but this up pot will be moving them into 12/12. I wanted them to get a little more established. Do you have any idea why these few are smaller and have that lime green color?

the big in there is an Oaxacan!
