This is unreal. I wouldnât last there!
I was born there & I didnât last hahaa moved away from winter.
Two meaty beachbreaks a right point(?), beautiful landscapes and some beautiful hash - Definitely on my list!
South Africa
The view from La Petit Ferme looking over Franschhoek.
From the Dieu DonnĂŠ Vineyards
Bettyâs Bay. Note the little guy in the foreground.
Taking a picture of taking a picture with Table Mountain, Cape Town in view.
no,i haven´t been to Chefchaouen(the blue Town)âŚwe always were visiting the southern region
âŚone of my Souveniers
Someone should tell those goats that there not birds perched in the tree.
People donât realize just how big Lake Michigan is until theyâre standing next to it. From that pic, youâre at the bottom of it - where you can actually see across to the west. Also, itâs not always as clear there as it is in your photo. The Chicago smog and the NWI steel mills can really put up a smoke screen right there sometimes.
The dunes are awesome, arenât they?!
They enjoyed their day hiking, it was beautiful. The water was closed because the waves were so rough.
Itâs the undertow
I would surf those waves.
Does Lake Michigan warm up enough to swim in , we have large lakes here that if lucky by aug it might be warm enough to enjoy swimming in some just never really get warm enough.
âwarm enoughâ is a relative term. I grew up in the area, then moved to downtown Chicago after college - 2 blocks from the beach. At no point ever was the water âwarmâ - but after braving in past your pork and beans, you dive inâŚand, eventually - youâre good to go. Pre-swim beers help.
Same here thereâs one thats north of me that is huge
I doubt it ever warms up.
Ignore the bug windshield thatâs about 500 miles worth on there in full on bug season.
That ferry runs Wollaston lake in the summer to the settlement bringing vehicles and supplyâs only other way to get there is by boat or plane .
Just beautiful @CADMAN I will make it there one day!
Namibia
I am sure that this first picture looks a lot like Nevada or Arizona . . . but it is Solitaire, Namibia & this stop is the only gas station for 100 miles in any direction. It is also the home of Moose McGregorâs Desert Bakery â but since he died, his signature apple pie has gone downhill. It was far too sweet imho.
This is Big Daddy dune in Deadvlei. Over 1000 ft high. The specks on top are people who made the climb. I didnât.
This next picture may not look like much â just a small herd of Oryxâs in the Namib Desert. But . . . the âcirclesâ in the brush behind them are the bizarre natural phenomena know as fairy circlesâŚ
A closer look . . .
