Mono Lake is a saline soda lake in Mono County, California, formed at least 760,000 years ago as a terminal lake in an endorheic basin. The lack of an outlet causes high levels of salts to accumulate in the lake and make its water alkaline.

Truly bro. Jordan itself is an interesting country. I was a bit surprised how much I enjoyed it. Petra is really hard to describe. The pics do it no justice. Really awe-inspiring (and HOT).

@tobedetermined and @saxo did either of you make it to Chauhan? That was the only place in Morocco I enjoyed, but didn’t make it south. Had some nasty experiences in Fez. Would never go back to that city, but would like to give Morocco another try.

No. We concentrated on the south. Marrakech was as far north as we went.

I went strictly as a tourist – not as a drug tourist. In fact I even turned down a quarter of black in Essaouira – although it didn’t feel right & the guy did look like a narc. I must admit that I always research destinations meticulously. I have been traveling for business forever so it is just what I do. I chose Marrakech because . . . well . . . it’s Marrakech. Stay in a riad in the south part of the medina & get lost in the souks. Make sure to go to Jemaa el-Fna square at night for the ‘food court.’

Further south, the number of tourists drops off & the landscape eye candy increases.

Likewise (wasn’t there for drugs, or even hash). The unpleasant happenings in Fez were just stuff like excessive scamming, gf at the time getting groped in the souq on several occasions, guy tried to rob us one night, could swear someone was in our room our last day there while we were out. It happens sometimes and it’s happened in other places, but it was just nonstop in that city.

Def didn’t do my homework. I had been backpacking for several months on a shoestring budget and the ticket was cheap. I’m older and wiser these days✌🏻

It happens everywhere. Our rental villa in St Lucia was inspected by thieves the day the pictures above were taken. We had locked the whole place down but they came in through a bathroom window & stole an iPhone charger . . . I had the taxi change switch played out in Istanbul. You always have to be on your guard & shit still happens.

Yup ain’t that the truth and it is what it is. I have some of those same stories. It’s part of traveling, and how you move around sometimes invites more interesting instances. Most make for good stories later, as well as a laugh.

I could use an adventure….
