Hemp field in Camarillo, California.
A few years ago, Ventura County Ca licensed 4,000 acres to big Ag for hemp production.
The farmers loved it - easy to grow, easy on the soil, low waste, etc.
The public opinion was split 3 ways:
“They’re growing WEEEEEEED!” — Some freaked out.
“They’re growing WEEEEEEED!” — Some celebrated.
“Duuuude, I stole 3 plants and didn’t get high. Bummer.” — some proved that people will ALWAYS be people…
Seemed like very few people actually understand Hemp vs. Cannabis…
Who wants to hand-water?
I had to look that one up. I didn’t know that it was semi-organized. A thousand years ago, we just filled the boat with beer, a tent, some food, a shotgun, more beer & we set off camping on Crown Land.
I’ve only ever seen this twice before. One time it just did it’s thing and went away. The 2nd time I was on the balcony watching it. Before it could touchdown on the water it started moving toward the shore, came all the way up towards the building I was in, and almost touched the roof! I was just a kid at the time and remember being scared it was going to suck up the whole building. Luckily it just moved past and then dissipated away.
@Gugumelo It really freaked me out at first, but was amazing to see. I was facing the ocean and saw it form. I realized it prob wasn’t a problem when I looked at the Jamaicans and they couldn’t care less haha.
Wow big contrast between the two places lol. Hanging lake looks idyllic for a swim and camping spot. What are the mosquitoes like, there is always a downside to beautiful places in nature lol.
Yeah for sure, thats what I love about Colorado, literally every landscape you can imagine in one State.
My other half is a red head, so she doesn’t deal with the hotter locations too well😅, so the pics reflect our tastes pretty well. I love the arid regions of the South West, Im happiest just walking all day.
I dont remember the mosquitos being an issue at Hanging Lake, but we may have been dripping with repellant, we got eaten alive in RMNP up in Estes Park the year before, did not expect them to be at such a high altitude…lesson learned. Unfortunately they dont allow swimming in the Lake, to preserve it, the pictures dont reflect it, but it was really busy with other visitors.
