Leaf curl - please advise

So I’ve been at this for 20 some years. A friend gave me these to try and revive. I have never seen this type of leaf curl in as many years. He is on well water so I flushed them last night with 7 ph water and misted them with the same . Any thoughts?

Looks like they touched a heater.

Unroll a leaf and look for web. Curl like that can also happen during reveg.

Looks primarily like heat damage to me. I would make sure the environment is in check before going to much further. It doesn’t appear to be a pH issue, a deficiency, or a toxicity. But standard disclaimer applies: it’s always hard to know for sure from a photo.

I’m thinking possible root lock as well. I dont like to transplant when the soiless is wet but could be the culprit. The new growth looks healthy so I will keep this updated. Thanks for the advice and any further suggestions are welcome. You never stop learning .

Looks like heat stress as mentioned but I’ve also seen that type of damage occur when a plants roots are to cold. Like being in direct contact with a cement floor. :v:

I’m wondering if a virus could of got into the mix? Is this fresh soil or recycled?

Its from over watering mixed with excessive heat It more than likely damaged the roots as well.

It looks like the “curl & burn” is on intermediate growth, as there is new growth on top. That’s good to see!

I agree with many that have already chimed in.
I’d also be inclined to say it looks like the result of light burn and a touch of excessive heat for a short bit… also, some of the fans are drooping like it has been overwatered. It takes days for noticeable change to happen in many plants, cannabis included… you’ll have to be patient.

The light may have ended up being too low with insufficient air flow. Some plants grow more quickly and may get too close when you’re not paying attention. No worries, plants are often times “fixable”… and will fix themselves, if given the opportunity.

Happy for you that it’s growing out of it. Looking forward to seeing how they are doing in a few more days.

I transplanted and as I expected both plants were root bound. I have never run Sour d before and its exact pedicure is unknown but I am no stranger to sativas so I am stoked. The bubba kush will be be grown in the same manner as my old bubble gum indica line.

Did you shave any of the roots due to it being root bound… or just transplant it?

I didn’t touch the roots. There was no rot. I just gave them a a larger pot fed them and put bigger light on them. Time will tell.

I truly believe that poor breeding practices and degradation is causing plants to mutate. I have encountered leaf and plant mutations in the past and the gene pool is getting shallow with regards to stable breading stock.
