omg @shag… that pic deserves to be on a T-shirt or a big sticker hahaha
I always liked rotties. It seemed that growing up no matter how scary the breed was , those dogs always gravitated to me. My first was a real problem child and he ended up going to live on a large farm with a professional dog trainer. He lived a very happy life. I was in an apartment at the time and he just wasn’t enjoying life. The next rottie came to me sort of as a gift/adoption as he was with a family that couldn’t afford the dogs they had , let alone another puppy. So my buddy was movig back to Ontario and made a deal with the people and I came home from work that day to a 4 month old rottie pup. I named him Higgins after my friend who left him for me Man he was an awesome dog and went everywhere with me. Loved people, loved cats and other dogs… he was great and real fun to have at parties as he would just mingle and look for snacks and pettings LOL He would bring me the leash when he wanted a walk and he would bring me my shoes on command too.
My next one, Borac (pronounced Borits)… It is a serbian name for warrior/soldier ect, also a rescue of sorts and he came to us with Parvo virus at 10 weeks old… the brookswood veternary hospital in langley bc saved his life. He was so grateful , he stuck to me like glue. He became my hunting companion and I took him all over British Columbia on hunting trips. He would just lay beside me … he knew what was up that boy did. This was his first deer at 9months old
then there was Harley… now she was a rescue in the middle of winter in -20C and colder temps. The day she was brought to us she was around 2. We went shopping that night and bought a big bag of dog food and I left it at the top of the stairs. When I came back in she was laying on top of the bag… poor girl. She had a very good life with us and her and Borac were instant best friends and never quarelled. She was a big bear of a rottie with short legs and built like a tank. But she was the friendliest sweetest dog you could ever meet.
I miss them all so much.
Lucy , while challenging, she loves people too, she is just rebellious and hard to handle some times LOL
