Let's discuss Bigfoot

Now we’re getting into Dog Man! A similar topic to bigfoot and with its own devoted set of enthusiasts.

I don’t know how many hunters are in this group but one of my favorite deer to hunt are the Coastal Blacktail deer. Smaller cousins of the Mule deer and they range all up and down the west coast mountains of north america and south america.
In BC, Washington and Oregon these deer are often referred to as the ghosts of the coast due the difficulty in hunting them in thier habitat. I have a friend who has hunted the same area as me for 40 years to my 20 years… I fill my tags every year he had about a 20% success rate until he met me and I showed him my secret spot hehe. They are isanely wary animals and rarely travel more than a few yards without stopping and sensing the path forward and behind. The can smell where a human has been as I have watched them from my treestand as they suddenly stop and smell the ground where I had walked in. The slightest sound from 50 yards away will cause them to go on high alert and change thier course. It is crazy how they can sense danger before smelling or seeing it. I am fortunate to have a hunting spot on thier migration route out of the mountains before the deep snows hit and I enjoy watching them as much as eating them hehe. Bears and cats also work thier way thru that spot and again, watching an animal with all it;s senses on high alert while it has no idea you are there but senses something is off. Sasquatch would have these same sensory benefits with enhanced hearing, smell ect so in every case… unless you were extremely stealthy and in a treestand above the ground level air currents , that sasquatch is going to know you are there 100% of the time, long before you even get within 50 yards.

I agree! They’d be apex predators at the very top of the food chain. These aren’t just hairy humans. They’d have amazing vision, hearing, and sense of smell.

I’ve heard about ppl watching them only to be noticed when the wind changes.

ya there’s nothing like seeing a grizzly bear a few hundred yards out and you turn and creep away begging for the wind not to change haha

I’d crap down both legs. He’d smell me for sure!

I live in a town of 20000. We have Coyotes to full carrying capacity. So 20,000 people here and thousands of Coyotes. Maybe once a year someone will report seeing one on neighborhood forums. Never reports of dead ones or bones.

Recently seen in Central Park in nyc go figure

There’s a group on one of the channels called expedition Bigfoot one person anthropologist I forgot the credentials of the rest of them, but she’s the one that stood out and for the most part, they got some compelling footage, but yet no true evidence one day you never know

Excellent point.

Some of the Bigfoot folks are more credible than others. Glad to hear there is someone credible on that show!

Did you know that bigfoot supposedly share a language?

A lot of ppl report hearing them talk.

Ron Morehead’s recordings, referred to as the Sierra Sounds, are considered the most credible recordings of what is referred to as “Samaria Chatter”

Check it out, it’s short, but interesting.

With all the hunters with game cams out… and no real pics. He is a fable.

That may well be true!

Im gonna hear it for this but… no black mountain lions either… using the same rationale.

I don’t know anything about them but I can imagine that, at a distance, things can look black that actually aren’t. It could be an honest error on their part.

I believe the patterson-gimlin film is legit. Ape suits/costumes of that late 60’s era are comical. Just compare to planet of the apes that came out a year later in 68. They had a team of special effects people on making them look real, and they still look like humans in chimp/orangutan masks. Even 10 years later, similar results with starwars’ chewbacca.
If that patterson film was hoaxed, someone went through an incredible amount of effort on the costume, more than hollywood SFX and costume designers did at the time. The way it walks, the lack of neck and the way the arms/legs proportions are not human.

And its female! That detail wasnt commonly known, and with recent stabilization the corrected film clip is more convincing.

No giant panda bones have ever been found in the wild. I would estimate theyere comparable as a large mammal. It is assumed they seclude/hide themselves before passing.

Is there a 9ft tall, undiscovered, super-intellegent great-ape living among us in our woods? Is there a supernatural ufo connection, allowing our distant cousins speed, silence, and even invisibility?

Jayy_2the_r-o_whah says; yes.

I’m a big believer myself, have had a couple experiences where I knew one was close by, the smell, the fear, and sometimes you just know. But when we were fishing a seriously remote river on Indian land near Sault St.Marie one morning about 6am as the sun was just getting overhead, my friend Brandon kept asking “what stinks bro” and we were literally steadily landing pink after pink (pink salmon) so I didn’t really even think of anything, a minute later . SPLASH! A big ass rock lands in the middle of the hole we are fishing and splashes everywhere and spooks the fish. We both look at each other as we back out of the water…. Now my heart is pumping, Brandon yells “WTF asshole!” I looked over and was like “I don’t know about you but I don’t think I could pitch that thing” we look and as the murk cleared to reveal the rock it’s a damn boulder! No way some guy chucked that from the woods on the other side as it’s a good 15 yards easy! And that boulder has gotta be 40-50 pounds plus! Now my heart is racing, we hear crack, crack . Now there’s a huge hill on the opposite side which is shading the woods over there big time, it’s dark, creepy and now we’re kind of shook. By now I’ve set my rod down , taken off my net and am making my way to the shallow part to cross the water to investigate, splash! Another much smaller rock hits the water in front of Brandon.” He’s like bro, come on wtf “ and you can see in his eyes he’s scared. As I started crossing the water I noticed movement on a patch of small conifers along the edge of river up ahead, I could make something out behind but not clear, just that it was dark, hairy. And by now we both had clearly noticed the nastiness filling the air, like old stagnant water , almost moldy, mixed with wet dog and almost a rotting garbage smell mixed with intense BO. I’m frozen, staring like 10 yards from this “thing” and I’m motioning to Brandon , he’s like “f!?k that” and backs into the woods on the opposing side grabbing his bag, rods etc. as I turn back to focus on whatever it moves, FAST running towards the darker deep forest behind, and I could clearly make out a human like figure, upright, running but with knees bent a lot, looong arms, and covered in a black hair, matted, knotted and reminded me of my dog when she gets knots and it’s a pain in the ass to comb out. Ironically my sponsor had bought me a new go pro, which was in the box, still in the truck. I’ll never forget that day and it’s burned in my brain permanently. Since that day , I crave another encounter but I’ve had nothing since. But also haven’t been quite as remote. When we left and went back to his friends place on the reserve. We told him, his grandmother and friend and all three acted like it was normal and began to tell us stories. Since that’s day I’ve been a HUGE believer . And there’s not much that could change my mind now. Considering I spent the last 15 years 3/4 of it at least on some riverbank, somewhere usually far from civilization I’m surprised I haven’t had more.

I love the points you make! And I hadn’t considered the Planet of the Apes costume design. To extend that observation, in the much more recent movie Congo you could still tell it wasn’t a real gorilla.

I also agree with the point about her breasts. It seems unlikely they’d think to add those details.

Regarding the Patty film - I agree that stabilization really helped. As you said, her arms are longer than a humans and don’t look like fake extensions to me. Also, you can see her gait batter with stabilization. Her head doesn’t bob up and down like a humans.

I’ve added a link to the stabilized film for the curious. It’s short and interesting to watch.

I grew up in the 90’s in NEPA.
Not sure if I believe in Bigfoot, but not sure I can dismiss it because when I was 16 I got my drivers license. I saved up for a year and bought an old car from a local butcher in the area and when I got my license I called two friends up and after some persuading I let them talk me into going to this rock quarry a mile up the road from where I lived. On the way to the quarry a strange looking cat the size of a German Shepperd walked in front of my car and I have never seen anything quite like it to this day. It was the size of a large dog had the head the size of a large dog but whiskers and ears like a cat and a thick shaggy fur that was greyish brown with patterns on it and a long bushy tail. It was not any type of wild cat that I had ever seen and I’ve seen bobcat and other smaller types of wild cats in the area but this thing was 3 times the size of any bobcat I’ve seen. Still have no clue what the hell this thing was and honestly I stopped telling people about it because most of them just roll their eyes and assume I was stoned at the time but I didn’t start smoking until I was 17

What a cool story! I love hearing about cryptids, no matter the type.

Weird question- did you see its tail? Was it long?

it had a long bushy tail similar to a Maine Coon but much longer and thicker. The cat’s body was very stocky it wasn’t a slender cat he had some bulk to him
