Live & Reloaded

Looking forward the AK report, will be interesting for everyone. Did you consider contacting serious seed? They found an interesting way to lock their genetic from being reproduced lol. That’s still a good example of how a breeding plan has to be agile, but well, deceiving for you, and looks like a ton of work.

You could maybe source another AK line to get some reliable male.

This is interesting. Particularly the emergence of differing traits vs. the round. Rounds 1 and 2 particularly impacting the growth performance, and flower quality emerging after vigorous growth is established. I guess that’s partly superimposing my own mental cycles on something I’m trying to read and digest.

Anyway.

Have to say I’m stunned that Giger #1 is as normal a plant as can be, from her mutant-shelled beginnings.

The AK line seems like a trip with the herm males. I am niave, I’ll throw that out before I ask the question, but can that be a deliberate trap laid in the genetics? I’m unfamiliar with herms in general but the male-gone-female is something I haven’t even seen on the internet before.

Nice Diyonisoun and Apollonian notebooks. Haven’t frequently seen a more apt image and explanation. Dedicated stoner and farmer books!

Curious about your ERSB selection. Is it somehow related to your Jack Herer blunt desires? Or just an old-school throwback? Looks like your’re going to get some sativa-leaning high characteristics from it.

Cheers buddy. I love to follow and keep tabs on what you are up to but my mind turns to jello quickly these days. I need to save this thread as a .pdf to keep on my computer for years down the road.

Thx buddy. The intro is mostly there to present the simplicity of a vague phenohunt VS improving accurately multiple traits. For now i will try to explain that the perspective of the observator have a lot of influence on unseen and seen variations, a bit like quantic.

When you’re hunting a shape, you can see what’s fitting in or not. But when you’re breeding only floral traits by example, the perceived chaos is far higher. It’s simply due to the magnification.

I will try to give some tricks to deal with it.

Tomorrow you will see her in a new shape ^^ I don’t have any spare pollens stored , all used, and it’s too late to germinate anything. So i decided to grow her for my pleasure lol I will try to make a nice show with this lady, big potential ^^

It’s not common, but not rare on S1 progeny in fact. The problematic is the mirage effect, it take a fews generation before the shit show reach its peak. It’s totally why i’m against fem and reversal in general, when it don’t belong to R&D like i show here with my use of herms seeds : mapping for the further cleaning.

Simon isn’t a random chunker, the stability of the phenomenon is quite impressive over two batches, and the sexual unstability only affect the males … i’m not prone to be parano, but in taking in count the whole equation it’s totally possible that i’m in front of a new way to lock a genetic. I’m more prone to think that it’s a consequence to rely more on cuts and specimens than on seeds and lines, Simon got more fame when he losted the Chronic that with the strain itself ^^ And well, i’m experiencing a different AK than early 2000’s too.

Very nice parallel, totally spot on ^^ Still filling them today with the late flying A4s laying in all the lab lol
Not a bad idea to give the good example, i started to be quite messy with my daily notes.

I’m living the hell again, seeds weren’t at the level you can expect for a 150+ strain. It lack of vigor and reactivity, i was forced to extract 5 embryos (in losing one) from the hard shell. Big stress lol Remember me the Fruity Juice

The reason is stupid as fuck. When this release was for sale, it was the only “new genetic” of the traditional actor that i wanted to test. But at this time making a slot for a personal line wasn’t possible. So i kept this frustration over years, finally wifey got me one pack for a Christmas gift ^^

JH and NL5H (coming after the ERSB) are pure nostalgia, and in general weeds that i like pure more than in hybrids. The three are very much sati’s grow style.

Same context ^^ My weed treatment (lol first time i can say this) stopped to be fun when i finished the Big Bud. The grade of COB and the fems harvested lastly are a light year from my stupid BB S1 seeds. So i smoke all day long to kill the stock, in waiting that the AK’s weed is ready to be rolled in blunts ^^

I will think about it, to compile the stuff in a practical format. Maybe a bit more than a PDF, the thing is germinating gently.

Don’t cut too early by the way ^^ I told you it was milky as fuck lol

This has been my experience as well. I’ve had beautiful males that a small interruption in the light cycle is all it takes to flip them, but never a female.

AK is in my top favorite 3 strains of all time. It takes time to find that pheno that ticks all of the boxes for me, but when I find her, she’s worth the effort. She is one of the only strains that I can’t put a label on her smell, but when you smell it, you know it’s her. It’s not diesel, it’s not funk, it’s not sour, it’s AK.

I like this line too, one of the rare stone hammer that i appreciate. But the typical scents and aromas in the 2023 release are now quite recessive. On two batches, the dominance is clearly established on a sweet bubblegum taste. I even lower a bit the situation, actually all my females are very sweet but one ^^

Being conservative with the weeds of this era, actually i like this variation. And more than the AK47 and the Bubblegum reunited ^^

The price still high :

  • Zero stabilization, that change the “historical signature” of Serious. It can take time to get back the stability.
  • Potency wounded, from a quart less to a third. Not a big deal to improve, just in screening herms.
  • Shit show on sexual stability (of males). The more long to process.

I just realize that if i had to choose between a Sensi Star and a AK47 i will hesitate today ^^ The potential of the potency is similar, but the pleasure to smoke got a bump with the AK now.

Well, outside the dominance test with the Shish, anyway this one will stay a while in IBL. These fucked males are a fuckery to deal with.

Is there an implication there that removing the hermaphrodite tendencies increases potency?

That wouldn’t shock me from an intuitive level

To stay concise, the answer is not the most popular ^^ It’s related with the hempy antagonism, the Loci 6 in cannabis, as well than THC(a) vs CBD(a) antagonism.

The easy intellectual shortcut is to think that drug cultivars tend naturally to return to a feral state close to hemp, it’s not wrong in the absolute. But the truth is that it’s more a matter of acclimatization for traits we don’t give a fuck as stoners.

Another week in the journey, with more space. All the AK’s (but one) and the fems will be harvested this week.
It’s smelling already the next round.

I’m quite satisfied on seeds dpt, the mothers mature well with a good stock.
On the front the two lines of California Indica (unique pairing), one line of California Orange Bud and two lines of AK (single male).

And these ones, the male’s seeds ^^
Maybe 2x10packs of decent seeds, the more complicated was to mature them well. The viability of the seeds still a mystery for now, they will be explored soon enough.

What’s remaining from the fems. I already have started to smoke them and i’m a bit disappointed. No real identity in the terps and in the potency as well. Muddy stone, a bit messy. The weed make me super lazy but not like the Big Bud, with the smile and well baked. Kind of intermediary state that never end. None specimen taste like the NL#5, and nothing is close to wake up the memories of SD. I count on the last specimens to teach me something, for now it’s quite arid ^^

AK#7, little compact thing. Typically the “indica pheno” we were talking about back in the day, i usually prefered the stretchy ones with their chainsaw high/stone. Now the game has changed a bit ^^ It’s the only specimen not rinsed for now, not in senescence yet.

AK#8, can’t wait to roll this in a blunts. Mendelian hybrid.

AK#9, i’m unable to describe the floral scents of this one rightly. Very fancy ^^ Like a strong 90’s musky weed, but double-dipped in a Chupa Chups potion.

AK#10, she’s in flush but not in senescence. I decided to don’t spend time to push her. Very curious to know how this one will get me baked.

AK#6, that make an interesting reaction since i cutted the PK for the TS. She just stopped to stop to flower and suddenly rushed while rinsed ^^ Moron plant.

Without forgetting a male that i’m revegging. Not for use or genetics, just to have a plant to torture for some tutorials about training/pinching … this kind of stuff. I won my bet by far with the last load of seeds, and got my prize ^^ So let’s play a bit with the 24/0 in the pollen tent, it’s not cheating lol

On the ERSB … it’s the nightmare again. Three are trying to survive in the pollen tent.
I’m supposed already to send a ticket at this point. It will be a sketch again.

The seeds were a shame for the price, I got some deformed immature again and low calibration. Maturity looked fine but germination as sprouts … totally lack of vigor. I guess old seeds on this one, they have zero energy i should help them on daily basis.

Yeah … almost the half needed to be extracted at some point. Only by what’s inside i can see that they are fresh like mummies. The second was a fucking pain in the ass to extract ^^

So yes, intensive cares at 16€/seed … with specimens that have zero vigor until i save their ass enough. I’m mad. To be continued …

The gorgeous Giger#1. The trunk is magnificent, sturdy like a bamboo. It don’t bend one millimeter in being tender and not yet woody. Incredible sap pressure. Unfortunately the first hybrid of the lab since it’s rebooted, but i’ve a feeling.

For now, no scents on floral side but the trunk smell like crazy. As rich than a SPG, can’t wait to flower this.
Hormones are kicking hard, i hope this one is stable sexually. I can’t make seeds from it, so i will grow it for my entertainment simply. She already have a special regime that i fcking forgot to note on the update lol AIO 1ml/L and Rootbastic 1ml/L, i transplanted on the late and i will try to get the max from it during the coming week. Wish me good luck, my ego need a big plant ^^

I have my chances i guess ^^ She look like growing in coco lol

I will close this with a highly polemic comparison ^^ REG vs FEM expression lol
It illustrate very well the truth that none stoner pleased to use this stuff accept to admit : it’s a sub-product in all.

So you have to select accordingly, to prepare your materials for the pollen donor a couple of generations … and the true “secret” is to master the heterosis game to output high grade fems. So simple, and so ignored all the time.

The new round is gonna be rodeo. Making me happy and angry at a time, bizarre feeling lol

Keep the vibes high, and don’t give up to the easy thinking. No better victories than yours.

MAPPING

My padawan is actually sharpenning his teeths on the BOG Lifesaver, as a warmup for a more complex project. This line [(Jack Cleaner x Blueberry) x Bubblegum] can be a good teacher on how to map a groovy F1.

So i will directly use the context to picture the section.

The LS is a nice mood enhancer smoke with terps. The release offer genetically many ways to enjoy it tailored.

This freedom to can push the line in anyway has a price : the pairing is quite brutal, producing various sunbgroups of hybrids. And they are the specimens producing the most interesting smoke in F1. Best best for the long term.

The necessity to map directly the line is critical, and it’s avoiding to be blind from one generation to another. So yeah it’s vital for the grade of your creativity.

Warning for the fresh meat

This kind of line (LS) isn’t something that i advise if you’re alone, in an autodidactic mode. Choose simpler segregations with a straight afghani/skunk. The vast majority of strains available can be reduced to an afghani skunk, don’t stress. Just avoid F1s that have a long list of outcrosses without any pause of stabilization (inbred), to simplify your learning curve.

People will think i’m sponsored by Sensi lol, but the super skunk was a reliable horse to learn alone until ~2015. Everything you will read here will be more clear with the SS and less ambivalent in selection.

If you don’t have access to a SS, it’s a good thing too. It’s forcing you to build one from even more available saps : a skunk and an afghani (including NLs). Don’t go crazy for a guinea pig if any, two white label stuff can do the job also.

Mapping a line is a process, not a tech.

mappingProcess

I discovered trought previous errors with padawans that this early differenciation is very important to unleash a potential. Don’t ask why, i don’t fucking know. You should ever take a breeding decision inside a conflict of interrest between the Farmer and the Stoner.

If not, your breeding plans are pointless in term competitivity. Think cocky in selection more than in strains, at the end the blunt have always the last world.

This is not yet breeding, this fragile window where you have an accurate influence on a line. It happens only when the Stoner’s make rain the decisions transformed in lead breeding and digested in breeding plans by the Farmer.

Genetically, on an annual in bonus, life isn’t a passive-defensive concept by definition. You should ever consider that you have to maintain your pressure high and accurate the longer you work on a line. The maintenance is always included in the equation : it’s the insurance that you will evolve or maintain your level of grade/quality.

After these necessary injections of some Farmer’s constraints, back to the dirt with the example of the graphic.

I think now that you understand that everything revolve on the accuracy of your mapping (the technic), less on the experienced use of it (the style, the signature). I’ll show you a realistic bribe of what mean practically this mapping.

On left you have a set of plants you sorted by three differentiated groups, the number of specimens isn’t relevant for this job. It’s reading first all plants on a grid of selection (traits worked), then after it’s making ratios on the said spectrum. If you search to ponderate anything to don’t do the job, sincerely better to open pollinate. Equal chances to screw the lead breeding.

So we have a tetrahybrid (4 traits), made from 3 lines pre-ponderared differently : 50% Bubblegum, 25% Blueberry and 25% JackC. Yeah, you get it for the groups now lol

The approach is to rationnalize first the hybrid and in a second time the partial view you will have. And it’s not about memdel yet, just the preparation of the datas required to bend something in the good sense most of the time. I insist on the “most of the time”, it’s just a casino that encourage the customers to count the cards and to cheat the algos of machines. And ban the compulsive players lol

It’s simple, you define a line by one of its most dominant trait, let’s make a simplist chimera from a difficult case :

  • roots : BBgum hunted (50% of weight in expressions ratios)
  • flowers : JackC / BBgum hunted (75%)
  • yield : BBgum hunted (50%)
  • cloning : JackC (25%)

That’s for any phenotypical selection, now lets see what you get by the Farmer’s daily notations and how to deal with it.

  • roots : dominated by JackC(C), so by 25% of genetic weight.
  • flowers : dominated by BBgum(A), so by 50% of genetic weight. Quite reliable cartography.
  • yield : dominated by JackC(C) again on reduced spectum.
  • cloning : main dominant trait due to hybridism, of the Lifesaver and not as one of its compounds.

To compare the distance between the chimera and the real time state is the job of the Stoner in lead breeding and breeding plans. Mapping have to be a neutral photographic cliché of a slice of genotype, handled by the Farmer.

The cornelian choice of the grid

phenowindow

It’s gonna be a ride, hold on your socks. I will take all shortcuts seen in previous chapters.

We stay in previous example of mapping that help to sort subgroups of dominances, with the Lifesaver.

Something new and that you will see more and more now is the grid of traits with 25 slots. It’s an arbitrary but well aged perspective on what is making the soul of a weed, that i resume at 25 traits for a genotype but also a phenotype.

Inside the grid you can see a dual-data : the traits symbolized by the grey numbers and the colored letters that symbolize the dominance of a genetic subgroup : Bubblegum (50%), Jack Cleaner (25%) and Blueberry (25%) but also Lifesaver (100%) under heterosis.

Mapping a specimen is the first stage to map a line, but also a critical choice for the depth of the pressure.

In the example, it’s a tetrahybrid wich already quite a dance. And for only 4 traits, the grid show more what you will get instead a binary presence.

ROOTS

On the root department, we discover in fact that this main trait is composite, heterozygous. The expression is composed of :

  • 1a = volume and shape (BBgm)
  • 17b = hairy roots density (BBerry)
  • 14c = thickness and digging fast (JC)

It’s were you have to choose the grid.

You can expand the Blue selection in 25 slots entirely dedicated to this expression of the root mass, as well that using a single generic traits

The highlight that are giving the 1/17/14 slots is only preventing on a required stabilization. The trait is in fact composite and unstable.

Should this phenotype be unselected ? If it’s not an eliminatory trait or attached with a negative notation, go ahead and go see the final compromise. But yes, 1 box on 4 unchecked on the lead. Bad dog.

CLONING

Most of people lost their shit with heterosis expressions on their first crosses. It’s typically showing how look like the case in a grid :

  • 03a = fast fading of clones while rooting
  • 10a = continue to grow while rooting
  • 18a = explosive transplantation <day+3

The three are new traits surprinsigly rockstable from one subgroup to another, and not influenced by the variations. It’s a F1, not a 2 digits IBL, so it’s just heterosis.

Will all of these traits be passed Dominant in progeny, hell no. The Blue trait “03-10-18” is dominant because hybrid, a composite of 3 traits at an inferior level of the grid.

What about the lead ? It’s a vertical push of datas. Because the heterosis took the lead on the root dpt. Update of the breeding plan ? Line canceled ? Alternate line to launch ?

In term of goal, it still 2 box unchecked on 4.

YIELD

This is a clear dominance of the BBgm, that score 1 of 4 requirements.

I’m always cautious with this kind of neat dominance in F1 on a trait. The example represent welljhow it’s vicious.

Yield never fall far from the root mass expressions. If this apparent Dominant trait is closely related and mechanically linked with a composite trait only cemented by the heterosis … it’s the promise of a rodeo directly in F2.

Now, it change a bit the perspective on the lead.

The pheno is carried in yield by the BBgm : check.
The pheno is carried in roots by the same dominance : check.
The pheno is carried in roots dpt by the BBgm : 30% only.

Now apply priorities in the expression of the final product aimed … and to adapt.

FLOWERS

Requested : BBGm / JCleaner hybrid
Phenotype : BBgm / Blueberry

It’s where you haven’t any margin in the game generally. A little bit longer flo, some stretch, even yield eventually … there are parameters that you can bend a bit in favor of the weed.

But when the chemotype fall badly, starting an hopeful line on this female only add distance between your goal and the actual state of the line.

Not missing a good weed that follow the breeding plan for a question of secondary parameter or for an unplanned linked trait is a strategic move.

But the weed selection should have the most eliminatory points : it’s the final product, even if the generation is just intermediary. In the self-discipline, upgrading the weed each generation should be mandatory.

It’s not about reaching a critical checkpoint each time, it’s maintaining a pressure to stay on an evolutive dynamic. At worse, you finish with a better weed at least.

Mapping while screening : Flaws & Advantages

SelTempo

Yeah back again to notions like calendars, season and productivity. And it have to be thinked in a sequence by the traits worked … logic.

Pictured the method I’m using the most, a cumulative pressure until the final product. It’s simple on the paper :

  • the first 10 days you can screen out (culled or unselected-to-map kept alive) early the root shape. Then replacing specimens by fresh seeds until all slots are taken again.

  • during the veg, you can massively compare cloning performances and to cull all specimens screened for roots not cloning enough vigorously. Replaced by fresh seeds again.

  • yield can be detected at mid-flo, and to give another reason to launch seeds …

  • … until you roll what you’re unselecting and use in loop the datas to launch seeds again until the stock is gone.

When you start to have a dozen of archetypes to cull the sooner possible, the cycles of selections become exponentially more dense with each specimen mapped you’re culling. At the point to reach surprising rate of specimens screened by square feet.

Remember that indoor, the timeframe of a selection is a strategic or a tactical decision. Goals VS Time VS Jah …

The pros :

  • exponential speed in selection
  • extreme ratios, 0,5%-2% deltas, but leveraged by a huge number of seeds. it mean a lot of the genotype seen on the hunted traits.
  • multiple parallel lines generated on unique pairings, even eventually f2 and f3 launched in loop and BX lines generated on the fly without any clone involved.

The cons :

  • solid knowledge on the line required
  • solid references in mind in term of maximas of direct parents
  • no real “pause” button, it mostly rely on a constant flow from veg space to flo space or the root/cloning selection made directly in perpetual as well. The structural leverage being the number of seeds launched, not the length of the total timeframe of the round.

This little practical digression is not a ‘magic’ trick to operate. If your breeding plans are not fucked constantly and in the need to be recompiled maybe two or three times … it’s more the proof that your ego is a planet. And that you don’t map shit lol

Never give up on the methodism and if you lose the North, just don’t throw the compass you’re reading badly. Simplify the ride. Even from one round to another, better to lower a bit the ambitions on the number of traits worked than blindfolding yourself in thinking to have mathematically more chances with less work.

The more you're mapping, the less you're fighting.

May the third revision of this be the good one. Not easy to share my point without influencing, even a case study don’t work. What is failing or working for a given breeder isn’t necessary what is failing or working for all others, on top of this.

So let me be a bit caricatural with some stereotypes binded with known names. The most important isn’t my grid or reading but more the symptoms they are picturing.

simonBug

The Simon's syndrom

At one point you just want to be the most competitive, as a complete offer, then let the world know it trought some prizes.

But the efforts deployed at this point aren’t innocents either, and keeping around 30 years straight a F1 isn’t necessary included in the initial breeding plan.

You’re identified by your classics at their golden age and everything new you make is supposed to be better.

At one point you have to plan the end of a line, as its replacement on the same battleground.

As well that you have to be aware of the cost of your grade/standard in term of logistic/lab. Better to close a label for a cheaper offer than downgrading it.

Everybody isn’t Simon, but the ballistic is quite interresting even for an hobbyist.

It teach that a high level of breeding isn’t something engraved in the marble, it have to be maintained and refined just like a breeding material.

lucBug

The Luc's syndrom

I don’t see much people talking about this grid of his genetics, but for me his catalog of weed was the most creative and diversified of the moment.

Then he transformed fully the catalog in fems, seeing only the logistic gains and not the shadows of the original weeds that we are smoking now.

The guy is known to don’t be philantropic, but in falling from the lead of creative weeds to a grade barely equivalent to a wholesale offer … that’s a bunch of money lost for just a rush of maybe two years top.

The lesson again is the scale and the pertinence of an offer. A label running at 75% in R&D with high standards and a complex library should have satellite cheap projects feeding the beast.

Sensi Seed dial it per strain with their volumes, each line can almost be considered as a label on its own. Specially now that the lead breeder is officially delocalized in Thailand ^^

DanielBug

The Daniel's syndrom.

After a dedication to an unique phenotypic singularity, the giant finish to obtain something that will tint close to the entire genpool over decades.

The first problem being too right too soon, and to rush like the wind with only a prototype in hand. I pass on the momentum with sagarmatha and dutch passion, it’s the consequences to run blindfolded.

Taking the time to stabilize the main strain while mapping the market is a more safe move. Better to be the one offering the best hybrids of the reference than letting it to the competitors.

In a perfect world, it fuel the R&D to reproduce the exploit in better conditions but with a new set of traits. In mapping the motherline, and in edicting from this a reliable method for further prototypes.

montgomeryBug

The Montgomery's syndrom.

He was a kind of american version of Luc, with opposite strategies. Even in business. I like to think that the guy set 20 years ago what will be the skeleton of a myriad of little labels.

The concept is quite simple and very demanding at a time. Investing fully a sedentar pollen donor (a male) or a pollen receiver (a female) and declining it with all cuts around. Hyped for sure, but not only. Unknown cuts of grow ops are equally valuable if not more ^^

The demanding part is the heavy logistic required to handle such a very dynamic genpool … and to constantly renew it without having the time to generate something really. A small discussion was born from it, avd the context wasn’t different that a little hand of the EU industry : constantly rushing, expanding genetics needs and externalized libraries. The big difference being a strong online presence and community management (then the exposition) … for too similar incomes. I let you meditate on this.

It was a reliable strategy 20 years ago, when US breeders were quite absent here from the market in term of comparative weight. The exotism of “styled” catalog worked well with cycles of customers.

Now Humbolt (not CSI) is a kind of ambassador like Barney in the other side. White labels model took the lead and there is more little labels that we ever known before.

My point is that in a saturated and indecise cycle, the last thing you want is to be “another one”.

You want to specialize in a cut and drive your genpool this way in this context ? Don’t be this electrical switch of the market sincerely.

With mileage, you see weed’s waves like seasons. At the difference that you never know what will be the weather of the season.

In the absolute, any line worked with cares will have its time at one point. And at worse, it become an asset for the numerous Montgomerys.

Think ecosystem, fresh meat. The most important for you is to survive in a darwinian game and to last enough to muscle constantly your game. You can even become a senior at it if it please you enough.

Now, if i promote so much unique pairings in genpools it’s simply to increase the resilience and also to lower the exposition to cycles.

Conclusion

I took the example of four succesfull examples to neutralize all tentatives to think that there is a better way than another.

And what is the more interresting in successfull models imho, it’s their flaws. Like in genetic lol

Now these stereotyped examples are for me categories seen since a while now on the battleground. There is too much occurences, beneath the personal stories, to don’t learn from it.

Mapping your stuff isn’t a binary choice. It should be linked with the necessity to understand a trait and its occurencies. So the scale of the grid used too.

But if you want to pass the substainability point of your genpool, there is no way to dodge it even for BX programs.

What a dissappointment in the ERSB beans

At least the Giger can rise from the mishappen ashes to provide beautiful blunt fuel

Interesting. I’m going to ponder on this for a while, probably my drive into work.

Looking forward to your new post.

The last few days have been chaos for me (no time to do anything but check levels in my tent and pop into OG) but I would be honored to run your Jack whenever it is ready. In memory of your cat companion. :slightly_smiling_face:

Let’s lit a cone of eth x pbc, it’s crazy how i dislike this one. I feel the NL5 dominance beneath but so minimalist that it’s frustrating.

But it’s not the worse. It’s protos send by a guy that i appreciate in the retailing domain i always dodged lol I was forced to send a private feedback. Exhaustive / fem breeding one. And it’s awfull, i wish to have less respect for the guy and just write a basic “kewl weed” with trichomes macros.

For my defense, i warned as fuck and he send them over my decline ^^

I want a stetson now, with vitrified JH leaves sewed all around and embossed ^^ In crocodile’s leather lmao

The joke of Jah don’t stop in these fucked old seeds bro. Crazy shit.
Today i contact Sensi to send a ticket … they flushed their whole database lol So i don’t have the order number, and my customer’s account doesn’t exist anymore.

It’s global for anything before April 2024, just the month i germinate the ERSB, the JH and the NL5H :scream_cat:

It was fucking writed in the marble lol, Jah has obviously a plan for me with this triple germination.

1 officially saved, 1 undertermined, 4 embryos under intensive cares.

Beat me hard, I bite twice hard lol

My lil girl will help me to mostly fuel the ego while i’m pissing blood all days on the three divas. Hell unleashed on her already, i don’t even mind about the weed i’m just happy to have a good standard to grow after all these groovy repros.

Still have some more in the fridge damned hell, 4 more lines after the divas. But giger reminded me that i haved to output some protos this year to keep the smile.

Astonished by the combo by the way, can’t wait to see a panel. For now i’m clearly in a ST#3 alternative with giger, the feeling was right.

Push your selection for the pollen donor outside the breeding plan, without the dominances management. You don’t care that this extra root mass cost growth speed, the heterosis will lift this in your fems. But beware, any trait not carried by the heterosis will be on the lower averages of the natural source. The way to maximize the chock of autosomal traits of fems is in the MTD chapter about heterosis, the strategy tomadopt in the MTD chapter about monoecy ^^

I hope it’s a constructive chaos at least, you will have some treats to chill after the tempest for sure ^^

I hope also that the JH prophecy will happens lol Maybe this round will finish in a (ERSB x NL5H) x JH, Jah is in shape obviously for my summer weed. Fingers crossed as fck, i will fight hard.

Hit the sun with your outdoor !

Yesterday a new decoration was glued on the grow desk. Fingers crossed, previous packaging.

ERSB germination is a nightmare, I passed from 1 secured specimen to 2 yesterday. 4th surgery for the specimen : 1st embryo extraction, 2nd radicle ablation, 3th radicle ablation, 4th cleaning of the callus with glycol/tabacco solution. Positive phototropism is back.

I suspect now that they sell the older stock or the QC junk during promotions. Big Bud stellar germination, zero promo. ERSB, promo. NL5H, zero promo … let’s see if it’s a fancy theory of stoner lol

I forgot to show the root mass of giger#1 during the transplantation. The 10Liter pot was colonized in 4 days, i can stop the root booster and start the PK. Gorgeous female for now.

So you have 4 ERSB up and breathing? Good news I guess. I wasn’t expecting much based on the earlier pics

And the NL5 Haze is in the sprouter?! Hope for much better news than the ERSB

Giger roots are gorgeous. Good to see some happy news from your lab :cowboy_hat_face:

What a read this post was. It flew under my radar because I get alerts to new posts in this thread but not edits to existing posts. Many things I’ve been thinking about but written out explicitly - what perfect timing! I’ve been noting several of these things informally, almost unintentionally, as I grow out my pollen-chucked seeds.

The concise summary really is:

Know what you want (which realistically requires knowledge of the parents and their influences)
Keep popping until you see cantidates fulfilling that desire at every step

Anytime you see a characteristic you are NOT looking for, unless it’s better in some way, discard and ruthlessly pop new beans.

:+1: :+1:

Really appreciate all the amazing content you spend the time to write up and share. Thank you!

A disturbing void is growing in the tent now, 4 mothers remaining. I’ve proceeded the COB F2 seeds yesterday,
2 AKs still fighting, in seeing their fresh flowers i just continued to flower them until death, they got now an old ass flushing solution from old ass days ^^ The honey isn’t here to flavor the weed, it’s more about the soil already rinsed with a strong Humic/Fulvic solution. These twos opposite phenos remaining will be more talkative in smoke report like this, i’ve to entirely re-map the potency and the terps on what i know ^^

Seeded COB5 mother harvested, the smoke quality is above the average but the potency is below the average. Let’s see what it say a couple more generations.

Two AKs harvested lastly, a lot of work to do on the line after have sampled a bit these twos. The terp profile still interestingly new, but don’t follow well and in straight line the hard segregations imposed by the instability. I must say that the potency is deceptive for now, below a my lucky shots on the Big Bud. Rejected phenotypes are representatives, each plants harvested progressively give more infos on what the fuck is going on with the AK. Two more rejected phenos and 2 seeded mothers to sample, and i think i will be ready to write an exhaustive conclusion on two consecutive packs ^^

The male guinea pig continue his fate and handle multiple tests.

@funkyfunk Male’s seeds of course but also a reveg planified in regard of the study of somatic drift by Kristian Adamek stuff. I made it well, and surprisingly … it work. I’ve zero trace of regeneration on the shoot selected to handle the regen, the plant was totally cleaned from any other shoot or apex replacement outside this node. It mean a daily care to remove empty flowers, shoots etc … no magic.

But it look like to work where i don’t expected it, i’ve to dig the question now and to make comparisons with perfs of old habits. If ever this fucking cut decide to leave home to come here … i still hate hunting a cut to smuggle in EU. Pain in the ass always, it’s like asking to get sent the statue of the liberty. One month now i’m harassing the same clone’s seller to take my money ^^ Yeah you read well.

On the ERSB side, it’s not shiny. The daily maintenance is insane, sprouts have just zero vigor and i’ve to fix lethal problems on regular basis. Guess on the photo who is the only one not extracted manually from the seed. 4 remaining now, they slowly getting more envergure. I regret to don’t have some amino acids in my toolset, superthrive too. They got boosted with root booster and light sauce, now they get a boosted N regime in foliar spray (AIO+Starbooster) with a hint of kelp. Kelp in foliar is never a good idea, but can actually help to keep them alive until they generate enough energy to be autonomous. Fucking nightmare.

I took some shot of two operations, i don’t joke when i say it happens multiple times a day sometimes ^^

This one was quite creative to self-fuck any chance of survive. Seeds are quite old, so the vegetal mass lose a bunch of elasticity. One cotyledon was just bended on the apex … death sentence and impossible to work out the cotyledon to bend it in the other sense with heat.

So, let’s exhumed again the sprout for the third time and to heal it. 1st time was to extract the embryo from the seed before it mold. The second time was to cut the radicle to prevent damping. The third time was to cut a deadly cotyledon ^^ At least i verified if the radicle ablation worked lol

This one was exhumed only one time to fix the radicle (tips fungi), but the funk spreaded to the hypocotyl. The plant defense transformed most of its length in a callus, wasting too much energy. So, i applied a little drop of pure nicotine extract contained in pure PEG excipient. Not much people know it’s one of the best anti-fungi existing ^^Use polypropylene, not monopropylene, or the plant will be just dessicated with the glycol. I pushed the drop counter the hypocotyl and let the tension suck the drop. Simply. The sprout is now in photosynthesis, and the callus stopped to enlarge. Fingers crossed.

I get these insane germination cares only when i play with colchicine usually lol WTF Sensi.

Yeah, pricey seeds too. But deformed, not very fresh and not calibrated. It make me sick.

Longer than the ERSB to trigger : they got 48hrs of humic/fulvic acid bane instead 24hrs. In the sprouter it look not bad for now, radicle are thin and elongated, turning in all sense : expected for one time. I will transplant them today, i think i have two embryos to extract.

On a personal level i start to get busy again and it’s a reborn. I planned to renovate the bathroom, i make smoking my brand new rower, i can drive again, soon enough i will work again on my old car and the skull’s pain simply stopped a good week ago.

The problematic for now is more psychological, i wake up often in the night if not enough baked (fucking fems) i think it’s the unconscious fear to sleep on a surgery table ^^ And when i go outside i’m just in war. If I take something on the head this year, they open me again. It’s one million reason to chill but also one million reason to stress for simple things of all days. And weed is fucking magic for this, it help me to be less focused on the risks and live a bit more normally.

I’m no longer a medical patient in the strict sense of the term, these 4 weeks learned me a lot on this. You can’t fully understand by empathy and projection in fact, you have to live it. Now i’m more a “medical nerves/mood user” to keep me functional and not too much strange in society. I think it make me even more radical on potency, my notes are more rude than before. Weed have to be really stronger than the average to get a 3/5 note now.

Most stressful triple-germination ever for me lol

Keep the vibes high !

Looking nice!
I was wondering if you were saying Sensi Seeds uses colchicine?
I’ve always wanted to use some, but never manifested that desire.

Welcome in the infernal guts of this growlog buddy.

No for sensi’s triploids ^^ I just mean that the level of care (intense) of the ERSB seedlings is at the level of seedlings fucked with colchicine.

I played a bit with it, i don’t joke on the comparison sadly. It’s an hardcore procedure for the plants overall, what is surviving need daily cares like these poor ersb up to a month.

I see.
Other than their bad quality do you think that Sensi Seeds still has the old genetics or were they lost.

Ok, thanks.
So it’s still there mostly, but their quality really sucks.
