i see ppl do it anytime a week before flowering and then 2 weeks during flower
edit. they usually spray it with sts a week before flipping into flower and continue to do so for 2 more weeks and that creates the plant to form balls and pollen instead of bud. use pollen and toss rest of plant as the sts can harm you i read

My sour diesel bx4 male I’ve kept around for a bet and is now in day 4 of 12/12!! Gonna be some special pollen from this stud. Not fem tho lol

Oooo got a sour diesel bx my buddy worked that i would love to hit with some of that sour d pollen when ya got it ready… got a few other cuts that might like to make some seed too… dont got room to keep a male atm so being able to dust some branches would be fun
