Looking for real blue dream

Best of luck on your search!! That real Blue Dream would be a great one to have. Too bad all of those beasters being renamed ruined the reputation. Haha.

@DesertHeartGardens do you have extras seeds you would trade? I have been looking for it also, I actually just posted on another Post about 15 minutes ago that I was looking for it… lol

Let me know,

Thnx everyone nice to see a few people still enjoy it. Its nostalgic strain for me for many reasons. Ive grown azure haze its not the same, good but not blue dream. Blue dream better imo, here ya go azure haze. As you can see no relation at all more bb influence at least the couple i grew.

@Igor yours looks pretty good for a seed, almost spot on. Nice

I have read a number of articles that state the “original” Santa Cruz cut did use the Azure Haze and not SSH?
I have only been growing for a few years and living in the south east so there was not a lot of BD buzz around until after it went mainstream and everyone out west was growing and selling it.

I have heard Azure haze, SSH, Neville’s Haze and also Old Timers haze.

Anyone have 100% confidence in one of the other?

Ive heard the same but i always thought it was dj bb x ssh. Who knows though its def bb smells and ssh flowers. Azure seemed more bb dominant but could just be pheno i had. You need to check my diary im running dj bb x nevilles haze for reference and dj bb x destroyer, as you can see i love bb x anything sativa. They just meld tg beautifully. Fir me the big yield suggests its ssh as the parent

I recently got a little Tom Hill haze pollen I am gonna save for a BB run and hopefully be able to find a beautiful female to knock up,

Nice man that sounds good! The bb should bring down that 14 to 16 week flower time . Now i just need tom to send me a couple seeds haha. Doubtful

It would be nice to find some old Bb seeds, originals from the F1 or F2 days to make a really good version of BD

Azure Haze is a cross made by DJ Short of Silver Haze x Blueberry F4. Blue Dream seems like it used SSH, but nobody knows for sure.

@Trae1170 Blue dream has been around a lot longer then azure haze, its super silver haze not silver haze used in the cross.
Azure haze is a recent creation from dj and his son and is not what made blue dream but rather something they did as there version of blue dream which is a silly thing to do especially when not using the same parents.
Dj lost his main breeding plants long ago and silver haze and super silver haze are similar but different plants.
Silver haze is sensi seeds and used silver pearl
Super silver haze is greenhouse seeds and has no pearl in it, it’s a much more haze dominate plant.

I’ll probably end up buying johnnys bd clone and reversing it. Could be a while from now but if you’re still looking around at that point I don’t mind sending some seeds!!

I just ran Johnny’s cut… my first Blue Dream. Easy grow, nice yields.

Two old friends heard the name, said they had to have some. Said it was what they remember from the old days… and ssked for more.

Did you take clones and plan to make seeds?

You and me both. Idk about ‘cool to say’, it’s just a fact. Smoke nothing but Blue Dream all day every day for a couple years solid and you’ll likely not wanna see it again for a long time either :joy:

Still damn good smoke though. Otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to smoke just that for that whole time. The point stands imo.

I’ve avoided all blue dream related seeds since I started collecting, but still have a pack of Blue Sunshine F2’s to look at someday. I did accidently recreate a Blue Dream type line by crossing a Starlite(A5Haze x NL5) male to my SSDD cut. The flavors are different, but the yield and especially the high are 100% there in the plants I ran. Still have some beans left…

:100:%

Sounds like easiest may just be to hit up JP then

You always have good, true information, brother and I appreciate that!

For the sake of the thread.

SSH is 50/50 Skunk/NL x Haze and is haze dominant.

Blue Dream is Haze x Blueberry.
Santa Cruz Haze is another name for Original Haze. Haze was created in Santa Cruz back in the 70’s.

Blue Dream has been around much longer than 20 years, it became available around then, but it was available to some in the Santa Cruz area way before it became famous.

Blue Dream has been a favorite of mine since the nineties and it’s my wife’s all-time favorite strain.

It’s a lot easier to find real Blue Dream in California than in any other state. Most other places have a BD hybrid. It’s not the same thing.

@DesertGrown We were always told it was ssh x blueberry and that is what I believe . almost nobody had heard of blue dream when we got it , the clones were not available in any clubs , not one person ever said oh I’ve heard of that before and I kept pretty close circles with people from Santa Cruz to Oregon , I’m not saying it was not around that area for a time before we got it but if it was it was in a small circle of friends and not very known at all.
Haze hybrids generally do not finish so early or have as tight of buds as blue dream forms, I know anything can happen with gene recombination but I trust the first person I ever new to have blue dream when they say it’s ssh x blueberry. There was no motivation to lie about such things as this person made his money from books not buds and had been given blue dream out of the garden it was supposed to have been birthed in.
The story of the creation of haze is misunderstood by most and not believed by everybody , people say the haze brothers made it but really they just moved it from place to place, hardly anybody even agrees on what makes up haze besides a mix of pure sativa genetics. I heard of green, purple and silver haze early on and lots of arguing about that. Undocumented events from the past seem to always have some disagreements around them.
Some would even go as far to say it was all made up by Dave as a marketing tactic.
Also btw there is rarely if ever a 50/50 split when breeding especially if describing something as dominate for one parents traits. When dealing with something as mixed up as ssh and blueberry all kinds of genetics are at play.
