Just handle it as minimally as possible and it’ll be fine. That shit gets everywhere if disturbed and you’ll lose track of what’s what defeating the purpose
I’m gonna keep all this in mind. I think my first attempt may just be to put a male and female together and help them knock boots a bit and see how that goes. Afterwards I may go for collection and get all fancy with it.
Yeah lots of guys will only work with one pollen source, for good reason.
Ok! Flower tent side 2.
First is the Yuzu Sour Auto that got kicked outta the auto box for being too big and bullying the others.
She finally started to thicken up her buds a bit when she hit 12/12. I’m really glad I did the emergency transplant. She’s still sporting burnt tips from the shock but she really fattened up a bit. She’s not real frosty but kinda greasy! I’ve got a sheen all over my hands from playing with her. She smells like a lemon/orange creamsicle with a hint of fuel! Delicious! Probably still have a couple weeks left to go. I’m smoking and curing the others she started flower with by the way!
I’ve probably split her main 4-5 times. I think she likes it!
Here is the Grand Prix from Lit Farms starting to flower out. I really wish I had been able to keep the male I cut! Maybe next time!
Here’s the little Mystery Auto. I don’t know what she is. I donated a 5 pack of these to the anniversary party. If ya get them, this is it. Nice little plant. Heavy little buds. I have a branch or three flopping. She’s coming down in a day or so.
This one is from a bagseed I found a while back. Supposedly it was Runtz so that’s what I’m calling her.
I also crammed the two Pineapple Skunk clones on this side. They rooted and were potted June 25th I think. They just stretched like crazy when they hit flower!
Random flower tent pics.
Well I guess that’s it for now. Maybe we’ll bounce over to the auto box next time! A couple of them are mad at me cause I bent them in half! I shoulda topped them. I’m new to this auto business and haven’t figured out exactly when to do it. Last run I think I topped a few right when I saw the first preflower. Seemed to work out ok. They just seem so small at that point… then they splode !!
Thanks for stopping by! Hope y’all have a good Monday!
Thanks Johnny. I may end up picking one up as I sometimes get particular about things. I can go from newspaper right into that dodad.
If I can get those autos out of there I’ll have some space to spread out a little. Some of the new arrivals are in real need of some training to get those lowers out a bit in the light. The small auto I’ll take in a day or so. I don’t know when that bigger one will actually finish. It’s close though. I think she’s at 14 weeks 2 days from sprout. So not too bad for a longer auto I guess.
Most definitely!. Looking great.
Autos are a weird beast I’ve bent, topped, topped to late, and just leaf tuck and small defol all with great and horrible results. Healthy veg I think is one if the biggest factors.
Appears to me you’ve definitely got it going on! Beautiful plants, nice setup. Just read from beginning, enjoying the ride. Kudos!
(Yo, some weeks back I also started four strains of The Icon’s seeds. Had same experience with Walkenstein. Gotta get back to another shot at her hard shell.)
Hey thank you! @Butterthief1959
Welcome to the Longhouse!
I’m just trying not to kill ‘em all! . I really appreciate your kind words! Thanks for stopping by. You’re welcome anytime!
?? Hard shell? What’s up, brother?
Pardon the slight hijack, NDNCHILD had to ask about this
I dunno brother. I generally gravitate towards people with some sense of humor.
I was thinking that one might simply be tougher to crack. Only was sprouting one of that strain. Figured she was just a tougher nut. All the others are going gangbusters. I’m super excited about the genetics.
My first attempt at Walkin-Stein the bean didn’t do any thing for like 21/2 weeks. When I transplanted the others I dig the seed up. She looked just fine. Being curious I crushed it. Looked viable to me but the shell seemed hard and thick. The one I have growing now was shot #2 I soaked for 24 hours in water and h2O2 a tail popped no problemo. Right into soil no paper towel. Popped up in another 24 and has been rocking and healthy thus far.
What method did you try? I’ve never heard of anyone having a problem germinating her.
This is my ‘tried-n-true’ method, but there is more in that thread about ‘tough shells’
edit… roughing outer shell, trimming rim, soaking, cracking, etc
I’ve honestly had issues with 2 other strains recently. Neither was from you @JohnnyPotseed . Haven’t had this much trouble germinating ever. However a second go with the same soak mentioned above and they too are just fine. Man… don’t ask me!
Worm castings, it was my first time doing it that way.hey, I only tried one of the Walken-stein. I’ll circle back on her, (small space)
Even if I only want 1, I’ll drop 2-3 and cull the weaker, if need be, to end up with a good one.
I actually don’t think it’s so much of a problem as it’s probably better genetics and stronger seeds. All I had minor issues with have not been “store” bought rather bred with purpose and care and allowed to fully mature. No quick turnaround for the buck!
lol it’s just that I hate to hear even ONE bean didn’t perform!
Nah! I believe they would have. They were just beans that a chipmunk woulda broke a tooth on, given up then the bean went on to produce a tree 2 seasons later after being buried in a foot of forest debris!
