Mainifolds / bondage in dwc

Hello everyone,

I have been wanting to try a mainifold grow in dwc. But I am unsure of how to do tie downs on my bucket lids. I use the 6inch net pots that are lids for 5 gal buckets. ( these ones specifically https://indoorgrowingcanada.com/collections/net-pots-buckets/products/basket-lid-6-net-pot-4-pack )

Do any of you have experience making tie downs onto these lids? I need to be able to lift the lids off so I cannot affix to the bucket.

I was thinking of trying to use fisheye screws into the lids but was worried about the exposed metal on the underside. I have tried using duct tape and making loops to tie to but they always end up failing me.

Any advice or insights would be great.

All the best,
Bammer

You could use eye bolts or screws and just coat the screw inside the cover with silicone sealant.

You can just drill some holes near the border and use some garden wire through them … beer3|nullxnull

I used frame hanging eyelet screws that I put in directly in the rez lid.then tied down with string.

I don’t know anything about DWC, but I use garden velcro to tie my plants and love it. I use drawing pins to fix it to my pots. Might also work with your lids.

There’s a thread around here on these little plastic plant trainers that clip to the branches that you might want to look into. No tying down involved just clamp them on and they hold it there. Haven’t used them but I’m considering getting some.

Some great suggestions here! Thanks guys. Will give it some thought and pull the trigger!

I use binder clips

i use shisk a bob skewers and the garden tie stuff foam on a wire just wrap the tie around the skewer and make a hook on the other end, use the skewer like a stake real simple, but i do it when the plant is smaller, the garden tie bought at menards for $1.99 the skewers i get a big bag at family dollar for a buck
