There are alot of professional copy cat electronics companies in China. They are very very good at what they do as stated above even to the extent of falsifying firmware details.
These companies have multi million dollar workshops with very high end electronics making machinery.
They don’t stuff around about it at all and will copy anything of value with inferior electronics that cost a tenth of the price of the top end stuff they copied and sell it for the same price under the same [looking] banner with a very similar web address.
Yep they do the sticker on the back just the same they have the laser cutouts that look just right they print the boxes the same.
They don’t have to pay for research and development, safety testing or compliance and in the case of above they don’t have to fix any gear or payout warranties or replace products because they fade off into the distance while the manufacturer of the real products pays the price of bad product reviews.
legitimate companies of course know all this and can use it to advantage when they need to sell last season’s stock or b grade goods. They sell it under a slightly different format for the reason that they can then also not have to honour any warranties, replacements or refunds by saying it wasn’t their product but a fake.
I have an opinion of Mars Hydro and routinely click the mute button so you can guesstimate what it is.
I don’t know what the answer to the riddle is, I buy Chinese electronics all the time and the new Mars lights look ok with solid specs and testing.

I ordered a Meizhi light from amazon Feb 18. Same thing happened to my light, I contacted their “Official website” and explained the problem to a lovely woman named Mia.
We exchanged a few messages back and forth over a few nights.
Nights turned into weeks, then soon months. Talking about everything else…other than lights…
We’re happily married now with 16 children.
