Might not be useful this season but a bit of permethrin around the borders seems to work well for earwigs. Had the same problem years past, spray along any nearby structures and it seems to control them. Didn’t spray near the plants. Don’t spray near foraging bees.
So, I’ve done triple action pest control now. Last night Spinosad drench. Today bought 6 cans of pineapple at 99 cent store dumped them (I’m allergic) buried 6 of them around the perimeter filled them with veg oil and soy sauce then I poofed damn near 700 sq ft with food grade 100% DE the most expensive one I could find. What a pain in the ass that was! Gotta be an easier way. Seen a few times that I can make a slurry and water it on early in the day so it’s dry by night when the fuckwigs come out. If this doesn’t work, it’s malathion.
btw… I am trying to kill this pestilence now before the babies are big enough for the garden or planters. Not only am I bummed about the garden getting eaten, but I’m worried about this year’s grow as well.
@cannabissequoia & @MomOnTheRun I don’t see spinosad on either of the approved or prohibited lists. Did I miss something?
Nahh… It’s just grower’s rumors i guess(i’ve heard it 2x).
you’re gonna be doing witch-doctor voodoo rituals & dances & shit with candle arrangements & crystals, fumigating out the bad spirirts, beheading livestock, & hey, where’d boyfriend go?
I don’t think so. It is odd that spinosad isn’t listed as that is the organic “go to” though BTI is…both are around the same price here so doing research on it as it may be a good thing to rotate with
Maybe. Maybe not…my 1st thought was someone confusing spiroxamine with spinosad as they are in the same family then started thinking about it more - maybe there is something recent then I found this write up Environmental Fate of Spinosad…so its low risk according to the EPA though not registerable as organic in Ca due to the old formulation adding something in it to retard spoilage though Dow Agrosciences reformulated it without the retardant though not yet registered…it can be used under an emergency exemption or special local needs registration(s) given by the EPA. All the data is from the early 2000’s so this is outdated though adds to the confusion of what is/isn’t allowed as organic in Ca
Right?!?! Rofl!!!
All the babies are still alive. Even the Good Shit that is missing an entire cotyledon.
Not yet, but I have a chicken that I’ve got my eye on if this shit doesn’t work. No voodoo on my sweetie though, he makes everything feel better when it all goes to shit. lol
Ah that might be your best option considering get New guineas , or duck maybe
Ha! I was referring to a sacrificial chicken for my voodoo spell.
If I got a bird back there, I’d see a side of my sweet pitbull that I’m sure I never want to encounter. lol
Babies today
Close up of Good Shit. Only one leaf. Bugs ate it, still hanging in there. Hope it makes it
Come on lil guy I’m rooting for you… error I mean come on lil lady
Right?! This is the only seed I have of the Good Shit and I think we all would like to see pink buds!
I am trying to be extra careful with these as the soilless mix is easy to overwater. Best to give them tiny little drinks right now I think, make em search for it and get some nice roots
Planted a few new seeds today… 1 Fem Holy Punch that I won in Highrish contest and 4 autos… 1 Jamaican Haze and 3 of @Mr.Sparkle seeds 2 marked Dark Sparks and 1 marked Da Green. So generous of him, got like 5 different phenos from him. Started on one side of the pack, gonna make my way to the other side for the other phenos in a month or two.
@MomOnTheRun I can’t remember who you said to tag for the Jamaican Haze? Can you tag here so they can see the grow? Thanks!
No problem! @Esrgood4u …Meesh and I are starting Jamaican haze - i’ll post up about mine when I get ready to take her outside in ~4 wks
Ahhhh thank you both @MomOnTheRun and @Meesh. I’m sorry I didn’t have more to give but I bought them purposely for an outdoor grow I had planned but things changed and I thought I’d let someone else grow them out. It should be interesting. I’ve not found a single diary/journal online about them and any mention seem to be on polish grow forums good luck with them. If they do well I’ll give them a run next year
Happy to run them for ya and keep within your intentions of outdoors just 1 in S Ca and 1 here in Ak…i’ll grow the last one indoors in the fall
It sounds to good to be true a haze that will finish in under 3 months. I’ll be watching
Hopefully I can do it justice!
I think this is another mutant crinkle leaf dark devil. It’s little so hard to tell. If so I’m gonna pull it. Can you confirm @Mr.Sparkle?
Oh yeah, this sucker looks even more weird in the pic where I can see it close-up. #blindoldbroad
