Midwest Growers Unite

Not quite sure but he’s not stupid…he didn’t burn/destroy all of the 2 rows…he burned/destroyed these just to please the state of Illinois…6 of my farmer/rancher buddies were at the bar Friday and he told us that if we wanted them just go out there and chop it down ourselves…I plan on doing that for sure…

Still plenty left for my farmer/rancher buddies and I…

I will destroy them through an ongoing series of controlled burns :sunglasses:

Whats up everyone?? Popping in as a fellow midwest grower!

I’ve been growing for 15 years mostly in small indoor spaces but have been able to try some outdoor runs the last couple of years and loved it. Currently run both when I can!

I don’t always grow a lot each year, but its enough to keep me and the friends in green. I am about to finish a PhD in organic cannabis agriculture at a Big Ten university. I worked for many years as a chef beforehand but got tired of the grind there.

I do free consulting for med grows and small family owned grows in Michigan and try to make it to CannaCon in Detroit when its there. If you’ve been there, especially working a booth, we have likely met!

I am interested in historic local cannabis strains that have been grown for years, both the "stories behind the strains and cultivation method as well as possibly trading for seeds.

Hey fellow Midwesterners! I am looking for some information on local ibl lines including possible seeds for sale/trade and the stories behind the strains. I’ve got a thread going in the Breeder’s Lounge (Looking for North American regional IBLs - #45 by ThePotanist) that explains a little more and includes a cool discussion on regional IBLs.

I am considering anything grown outdoora from the same seed line where new seed was produced each season for the next for long periods of time locally (technically 6 seasons to be considered an IBL). I am interested in finding local adaptation signatures in Cannabis that can be used to help make regional recommendations for growers and highlight important traits for local breeders.

Any help would be appreciated but I ask that you please post in the thread I started (for recordkeeping) but if you drop them here that is perfectly fine!!!

My goal is to be completely transparent with my process and motivations so if you are unsure and need to ask questions to feel more comfortable talking, I get it. I’m the new kid here so not much trust yet, but give me time and let me earn it!
