MoBilly’s green room

It’s interesting how many variations can take place in the same exact strain. I know that’s the whole point of working to make the genetics as conformed as possible but still you will see genetic throwbacks from generations at times.
I’m mainly going by animal husbandry but I’m sure it still applies.
A famous Quarterhorse barrel racer was cloned. I believe it was five clones that were raised. On the whole, they were all superb athletes, but the appearance (markings, build) were totally different. Take in my point now. One of the clones looked very much like a “foundation stock” Quarterhorse. The last, true, foundation stock that entered that bloodline was six ± generations back.
Genetics is a fascinating subject.

Food for thought guys, and I thought the hollow stem flowed water etc from the roots. I dried up small fan leaves and sugar leaves with a fan positioned too close on my first grow.

I’ve wondered the same about broccoli, some have cavities in their stems as well.

Just genetic diversity I suppose, look at how different all humans are, it’s only natural that every plant is unique. I think mother nature laughs at our idea of “stable genetics”. If you want stability then you’ll have to clone.

As far as seeds are concerned, change is the only constant in the universe.
Apparently even the laws of physics differ from galaxy to galaxy.

I totally agree about the oscillating fan beefing up the branches.
The inter-nodal spacing is definitely larger on the plants I’ve found to be hollow stems as well.

The more we read the more confusing it gets, but sooo interesting.
My first grow was Girl Scout Cookies auto which grew hollow stems and really tight internode spacing, bit I was battling high temps and a negative diff.

It is a more efficient use of material, I can see this trait being breed into lines. It would be associated with vigor.

Thinking back, the last 6 grows have been hollow…

Some growing guru will figure it out and then share on here. Then we’ll all know.

It’s time, everyone, for another update.
Yay!

The wound is healing well. (Pictures of the sisters at the bottom)

The tape was just a little support at the bend.

The little latecomer Purple Kush is not so little anymore. I trimmed off the first few nodes and hopefully nothing else will be done. She’s going aux natural.

The pulled down Skywalker

The Critical Kush is going strong.

The Cookies Kush

The White Widow

And an above view of the sisters.

I’m having an issue with my third clone but this update is long enough right now. I’ll make another post about that plant, probably, tomorrow.

Thank you all, once again, for checking out the grow.
May you and yours be blessed beyond measure and know it.

Beautiful, who you liking?

The Critical is massive and strong but really, I think like the Widow best.
@Eagles009
You see I put a cross beam across the top nodes and the next lowest nodes are really positioned well to pull out and grow out every other set of nodes. That’ll create that cross that did so well with my beast of a Gelato last gro.
The main reason I like her so much is that even when I got hurt and my wife took over for a while, there were problems that occurred neither of us could have prevented. But that plant just kept on digging. She stayed stronger than any of the others. What’s not to like?

Yeah the critical is a beast. I loved the ww! I’m almost out of the clone :sob:

Thanks @anon62804309
I appreciate the kind words. I’m still in first gear compared to some of these 12 speed growers around here.
LOL I’m just doing my best to emulate the great.

Welcome @Chronickyle
I’m glad you dropped by! The more minds I have on my side the more fun it is.
Jump in anywhere!

How are you out of a clone? Did you loose them all or is the mother plant not producing cuts that will root?

@MoBilly your plants are looking nice and healthy! Don’t be too afraid to “abuse” these plants. I practice supercropping and intentionally crush/twist the stem and branches to break the tissue enough to cause damage and grow a knot. Yes that’s often done now to soften an area and make it flexible for training, but I’m just crunching enough to damage it but not make it go limp. The area heals to be stronger than it was before, and the overall plant becomes thicker instead of stretching as much.

I’m jealous MoBilly! Those girls look great, beautiful foliage and top class pruning. I’m still a bit apprehensive of pruning still, I let the plant decide which leaves I should nip off.
I use big safety pins around my pot rims for plant ties doing lst.
Looking forward to seeing them flower. :+1::+1::+1::clap:

Love that concept @MoBilly, if feels as though there are no problems, despite the thousands!  :scream: :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
