Mongo’s Stanky Jungle

It is better for them to take a nap much like humans.
Helps to revitalize.
I used to run 24/7 also but have not really found that much diff to substantiate between the two.
I run 18/6 then down to 11/13

Maybe in the future I’ll try. I’m one timer short to make it happen at the moment.

@Jetdro and @OleReynard I never really though to switch to 18/6 but perhaps it will save me some money over time if I put out a few bucks for a timer.

Do you guys keep seedlings in 24/0?

You find a good white widow male or a trikush male I’d be interested in some pollen.

The Widow is a no go I’ve only got a female and it’s just about done flowering. But the Trikush I could probably scoop some for ya.

I would never run 24/0 on anything. No way, fucks up the plant in my opinion, they grow during lights off…they capture energy all light day, then use it at night. Not giving them a "rest " period, i just a no no in my book.

I had/have an ancient KILLER White Widow. Grew her for almost 10 years. Grew into 4 foot tall pyramids, and yielded off the hook. Lost the Mom, but have seeds from n F2 I did with the strain.

Not wanting to argue at all but It doesn’t fuck up the plant. I’ve grown hundreds of high yielding plants under 24/0
But I could see the benefits of going 18/6. One could say “it might be optimal” :joy:

All these were Vegged entirely 24/0 then switched right to 12/12

Pop some of them Ancient WW you could be sitting on gold. I loved a good WW in the 90’s.

Not wanting to argue either. My understanding is without “sleep” plants cannot hit their “stride” and I have always believed it.

I smoked the Bud for 20 years, heavy Indica couch lock with stone to the bone effects. Nothing special in the smell/taste dept, so for ME, Im done with them , lol.

Be interesting to see 2 cuts, 1 in 24, 1 in 18, and see the difference.

I’m also interested now to see who runs 18/6 vs 24/0

EVERYONE I know personally runs 18/6

Well now you make me feel left out :joy::joy: maybe I should grab a timer or two. At least for a side by side comparison

Plants will sleep for 4 hours wether the lights are on or off, like humans they have to sleep, but for plants a minimum of four hours is what they take if the lights stay on. So you are wasting 4 hours of light energy on your bill every day which equals around 36 days extra light exspence on your bill a year.

NOPE…if what your doing works for you, KISS!!!

IF you google 18 or 24, you will find arguments on both sides, just like everything.
Personally, I will save the electricity and keep up 18/6

Very interesting boys. Giving me lots to think about. My electricity bill is stupid and would love to save some cash $$

I run 20 n 4 here, but will switch to 18 n 6 in the summer for less heat
I find running 24 or 20 n 4 the switching to flower, shocked them into flower faster than 18 n 6
