My Final Rebuild or Running Till I'm Composted

Hey Ya Dendro!!,
very cool to see you!
Funny, I just yesterday, processed the small bucket we keep under the sink, to collect the vegetable ends, the ugly leaf, any veg that goes to the rot side.
We eat lots of veggies!
But the Dinosaur Vomit is going on to the compost pile out back.
My attempts to use DV indoors, has been, well not so good.
It is very potent, a bit stinky for a while, so for indoor use, it is very tricky.
The outdoor plants all get DV’d all summer long, unless when I’m building up a compost pile.
I’ve elevated a portion of my back yard 15’ wide by 60’ long and about 12" to 15" in height, that was so very swampy, when we moved in 22 years ago.
My trays, are a bastardized system, I veg in a perlite/coco husk/compost medium, up potting, from 4" pots to 1 g’s to 3 g’s before flower.
I then add 4 pots to the trays, put a 20 g reservoir under it, I install a F&D drain kit, and use a 300 gallon pump to fill the trays to the drain level, about 4" deep, pump stops as light go out.
Nutrition, first is in the medium, Dr.Earth items, Langbeinite, Neem Meal, Bio-Alive, Kelp, Acid Mix, Oyster Shell, Feather Meal, also a fish or sea food meal. Now all I need do is water them.
I mix all that up on a trap, shovel it into dedicated Rubbermaid trash cans, pour in a couple of gallons of ReCharge, and let it cook, a couple of weeks or months, until I get to use it. It usually last’s about a year for me.
Once they go to flower area, they get converted to hydro.
A bag of MasterBlend Tomato 4-18-38 using 12 grams per 5 gallons of water.
Epsom salt at 7 grams per 5 gallons of water.
Then Calcium Nitrate at 12 grams per 5 gallons of water.
I mix each one separately in a beaker, then dump into my mixing tote.
That is my veg formula. It is 550 PPM’s
(I will be trying out their Strawberry Formula nutrients next)
Flowering nutrients, I use Morbloom a full shot glass to 10 gallons of mixed Veg nutrients, brings PH down to 5.7ish, a tad low for me, but the goodies in the pots will raise PH a bit, so it works out perfect, well my version of perfect.
I run to waste, nothing goes down the drain.
As I’m checking out the flowering ladies, the Killer Grape S1’s I started, are pure stench wenches!
It’s just starting now, as I remover fan leaf, the over powering of grape smell is on the verge of making me nausous…in 3-4 weeks, they will gag maggots. Then as I trim, it sucks, as they take the glass nap, it will turn into a delicious grapey taste that is very nice.
I hope all is well for you Dendro. I’m about 3/4’s done with my gate and paver project. Man I’m slow!

Hey man, been rereading your nute write up and wow, what a dialed in program. I especially like your homemade veg medium mix. I have been using alot of your mentioned ingredients, have been getting more familiar with the more common dry organic amendments lately, what can be used inside and what can’t(or shouldn’t)…lol…no, dino vomit inside would be a no go. The little bit of insect frass I just put down needed a good inch of aspen mulch on top and it still stinks awful but the positive reaction from the plants is worth it. One of these days Im gonna have to put the time in to fix up a cleaner, more automatic system, your set up is really cool, alittle bit of both worlds, soil and hydro. Definitely the direction I see myself going over the hopefull years to come. I have alot of reading to do here on your thread my friend. Sounds like your next delicious harvest is coming soon, good luck and I’ll be checking in! All is well here, Bobo says hello :hugs:

SALUTATIONS OG 2.0!!
Hey Bobo, it’s a beautiful world my 4 legged brother! Go wake up Dendro, yes just grab his blanket and run!!
Now back to real world hard decisions. LOL!
OK, a change up for me. I do not usually swap out solutions in my reservoir, UNLESS, there is an anaerobic smell.
It was very faint, the plants, are about 4 weeks out, I think, new strain for me.
My numbers were ok in the resy, 750 PPM’s is their food value, when I mix up nutrients.
So the reading was 850 ppm’s, PH 7.1
A week or so, 10 days maybe ago, PH was around 6.0 when I filled the resy last.
Since my plants start life in pots, I use Dr.Earth to keep them, until I turn them into juice junkies.
So, it can look dirty in my resevoir, and the coco husks can stain the water brown also.
However I did not care for the smell, very faint, and all.
I emptied the tray of solution, cleaned out the F&D fittings of roots.
Sucked out all the spent juice, filled up my transfer tote, with 10 gallons of Escobars res cleaner, to 300ppms, and refilled the tray and reservoir and let it cycle for over night.
Next day, sucked all that out, and refilled with Master Blend to 550 ppms, added a shot glass of Morbloom, takes me to 750 PPM’s giving a perfect PH of 6.0, that will raise to 6.2 as it all mingles for a few hours, running through the media. I do also add a splash of silica when I mix up solution.
Last night, I swapped the the 2 tray/ 2 reservoir flower area.
I’m going to try and start a perpetual run in there. I know that sounds just plain stupid, but I got to get it out of my head. The SAWA plants are like 4 weeks old, but I had a few herms pop up, and to reuse that space, I selected one from my dedicated veg area, and stuck her in, working her branches up through the screen. Maybe I'm dumb as a box of rocks. On a side note, Santeros, Killer Grapes, S1's (found a few seeds in buds I grew out) I have 2 running with SAWA. As plucked some leaf off them, their smell is so damn strong! She will be finished well before SAWA`, and I’ve been out those buds for 5-6 months now, delicious and a nice hard slap to the head!!

:hugs: Thanks Brother, I needed that. No bullshit, Bobo came right over when you sent him, he’s a wonderful dude, just like you!
I hope your issue is resolved, sounds like you got it, Im surely not able to help on this one as this is way above my pay grade but man, I can relate with your line about just getting those foggy ideas out of your head, that happens to me alot and 9 out of 10 it leads to something new and interesting. You know I say go for it, if only to keep your sanity. Lately, for me, I keep mulling over new ways to separate oils and solids. I cant go into a single store without seeing something that could be used in a grow or something similar lol so is this pure obsession or deep meditation

Man I love the fall season!
I still snivel a bit about having to dress for the cold and all.
I got my figs bundled up for the year.
The 4 of them are wrapped in burlap, got a garden wire cage around them, stuffed them with captured leaves, from the front yard tree, I bagged up, this past month.
I then place a saucer on top, slide a contractor bag down over them, and drive a couple of poles into the ground to hold all that in place.
From the warm snap last week, it started to BUD!! So did the Rose Of Sharon, lots of green buds. Oh well, they start their long nap, until spring.
I got a pack (coming) of UBC Chemo#1 x M-39 from HATT by way of soaknbeans auction.
I wanted to wrestle with some of the India’s offerings, but that was well above my pay grade, and I lost the FOMO moment.
A few snaps today, killer grape is coming along. They are so beautiful and stinky when irritated with being touched.
The green one.

The yellowed one?

Take care all.

Hey Web, finally made it over here bro! Cheers for the heads up, as the other joint seems dead and buried now which is a shame.
Love the set up and everything you’re doing mate. Very cool combo, thinking I’ll be copying some of your ideas and methods when I set up a new tent. I’ve been keeping a sharp eye on your Sawa grow mate, I’ve been super close to buying those beans myself and seed heaven are one of the few good places still shipping down here I think. Just been waiting to see what they’re like, how they turn out.
Are they still going ok or did you ditch them after they hermed?
Gee that MAC 2 you grew looked soooo nice man, wish I could get my hands on some of those beans, maybe one day.
Finally got a new light! Followed your lead with GLA and I couldn’t be more impressed with the light and their service. Plants literally perked up overnight. Thanks bro, hope all is well with you and I’ll be following along keenly.

Hey Halforc, Welcome to OverGrow 2.0 !!
So damn glad to see you made the jump!!
Do not be shy to say Hello to the community here, lots of folks migrated over here now. Lemonade Joe has brought life back to this old fight club, to a vibrant friendly group. Very good moderation, IMHO, someone’s got to do it.
A shame that place went dark like that. It was a fine 12-13 year run over there.
Man, the GLA’s are so much more intense than my earlier LED’s are.
They really gave me a great deal, on shipping some how, that really tipped the deal for me. My next item from GLA, there will be some Buddies coming to help boost flowering.
I’m really glad you made your way here, it is a fine group of folks.
Yes, I’ll be getting more Hyp3rids work, as all the issues I’ve had were/are ALL on me and not planning well.
I need to write shit down, make a list, see a pathway, and follow it to hell or buds!! SAWA and SAWA Natty, are well crafted strains, I planted way to many items, a typical over greedy grower attitude, on my part.
I held them far to long in veg, I did not care for them properly, cutting them back, not being in large enough pots, all lazy man failures, all on me.
SAWA` buds are big puffy bud sites! Wide leaf, got a nice smell as you work the screen.
The MAC V2, Frosted Cheeks, are from Capulator, my last $200.00 a pack beans ever!
As the Hypro Widow 13 and Amnesia Star, are stunning cultivars, and a GREAT buy!! My friends LOVE LOVE it!
I hope you get a good vibe here, it is a chill place, just look around, you may see some handles you recognize.
Never hesitate to contact me man, I’ll help if I can.
All the best to you!!

Thanks webeblzr! I did get some buddies as part of a combo but haven’t set them up yet as I need a new tent (zip is buggered on current one and it’s probably too big for the light too). Didn’t want to waste their sticky backs on a tent I’m replacing if that makes sense. Anyways, sorry for the derailment mate, I can’t wait to see what you grow!

Hey Halforc, yeah I was on their website yesterday, looking at the Buddy options, and costs. I’ll have to start packing away some of the extra dollars, I get from scrapping metal items.
Since I went to Panda walls, I am going to find some plastic sheet material, say 4" to 6" inches wide, 1/8 - 1/4 inch thick, to mount the Buddies to that, then hang the strip holding the buddies, to some small pulleys so I can adjust them up or down. Or hell just some wire would hold them as they weight almost nothing. Been talking with some users and they love them.
All the best to ya my friend!!

Ha! That’s a really smart idea, can’t believe I hadn’t thought of that, what a dumbass. Thanks mate!

The last tent is rocking a nice selection of staggered (2-3 weeks apart)

flowering girls. They are either ORFN’s, or sweet island skunk, or maybe 2021 Fall box offering.
Well that pic is a canna jungle LOL! And I poked another in tonight!
See if I can a better shot.

I think she is from the Fall Box 2021. Long way to go for her.

Dang, lots of up potting tonight, oh double damn dog, I got to mix up medium also!!
Who used up all the medium, damn it?

Just cracked some new beans, Tropicanna Cookies x Herijuana x Cherry West Bc, these are test beans from Ill Eagle Bird Seed.
Very strong tap roots popped out in 18-24 hours. I had soaked them a few hours, then into a wet towel, on to my heat mat 80-82 f.
The next day, I placed the tadpoles in a 4" square pot, 1/4 back filled, of Sunshine #4 mix, and wee sprinkle of Azos.
Since I’m always shuffling plants around, and my area 1 opened up, as I cut Killer Grapes S1’s, and SAWA` Natty, are now hanging.
KRIKEYS KG is so grape fragrant, so terpy, so gassy, my wife could NOT sit in the room while I trimmed it up!!
I also up potted all my hard vegged plants, and will gang flower a bunch out, as I have some new things coming up.
I was gifted a collection of seeds, from another great forum I recently found, it was such a great act of kindness, to a no body like me, it’s hard to put into words.

Some tent shots. I think the nice kola plant is from Diggy’s fall box 2021 maybe, I was hoping it was Kashmir, love her.
A Sweet Island Skunk F2 from seedheaven, I had to hard bend her over, to keep from bleaching her. She is very branchy.
A pair of her sisters, are in sever BDSM training, splayed out of a screen, kind of kinky looking, if they do not herminado on me.
This S1 ORFN is a perfect copy of Honey Badger Haze seeds I found in her bud…
I’ll be running some FrankenBerry, Blue Tara, and JohnnyPotseeds Mystery Mix, from his recent Christmas BOGO, for this coming year!!
So many strains so little time.

My pair of SweetIslandskunks F2’s are recovering from the hard screen training. Well I hope so, but seeing any balls. Today, I’ll fasten down a few of the head lifters, weave a few lower branches that were sort last week, can now be pulled up to the top.

The Ill Eagle Brid Seed project, is humming along well for me. The beans are responding well, enough so, I can move my plan for them up a bit. I uppotted the first 3 yesterday, into my mix, full strength on the bottom layer, half strength around the root ball, layer of large chunk perlite on top.
I’ll also soak the rest of the gripe of tester beans and start them a while.

The 2021 plant, that I think my be a Kashmir, from Diggy, is a stunning beast!
I will get some saucy snaps of her for sure, but I’m going to push her out, and could care less if she goes 14-15 weeks!! But for me it’s all about ripe thricomes, over the clear.

Going to sample some SAWA Natty today, and take a hard look at SAWA IBL, to see if the chop is coming for it.

Hey Paps!!
Yeah, I’m starting my last couple of seeds today, I had forgotten my camera, and need to stay on point for ~nuggz, with documentation. I still fire up John Prine’s Illegal eyes when I go in that thread. Man I loved that song back in the 70’s!! Hell still do.

The sweetislandskunk F2 I have in the tent, is blowing out a bunch of beautiful long buds, so I am wanting that screen to fill in, flip it, hope for massive screech. But a little screech will be cool also.
I reset the timers 4:00 am on to 3:00 pm and we wait. I did poke a couple of standers in that area also, since I can reach across that screen well, i do not need to have a space behind it.
I do love this stand up gardening way better.

SAWA` Natty, is not cured yet, but I did sample her last evening. You at first will not give her much thought, not a special taste, nor a special buzz, at first, then her waves of bliss start sweeping over you, the happy daze grin lights up on your face, and it’s all fun, and laughter. I will not let any of her go, but will share it with everyone at the Super Bowl party, and some birthday gifts.

Got big old tote of old spent root balls, I’ve been letting dry back real hard, I’ll add some compost, dr. earth items, maybe a 1/2 block of fresh husks to the mix, and let it age a few months, and get it back into the game.

Blessed are the growers…that stay the course.

One of my favorites John P songs and lyrics is

Please don’t burry me down in that cold cold ground
I rather have you cut me up and pass me all around.

Like a joint lol

I’ll be running nuggz

(Grease’s Pieces x Tropicanna Cookies) x (Cherry West bc)

The genetics are Something different for me

I’ve always wanted to try something tropicanna cookies :cookie: so here we go

SAWA Sounds like a good one

Just an update, with pics.

I’m crossing my fingers that 1 of those is Kashmir from Diggy’s Fall or Holiday Box offers.
Looks like she should be tasty…if mold does not get in her nether regions.

Those are looking excellent. Got my fingers crossed you escape the mold .

Yeah ShiskaberrySavoir, Thank You for stopping in!
I was just using a long hemostat to grab the bud branches up around the kola, and gently pull them open. I do not mind if they crackle a bit as I bend them backwards, I just do not want to shear them off yet.
For indoor buds I’m thrilled with them, beautiful colors, and full of delicious floral stink.
To whom ever made these, banged the gong to perfection!!
