I always thought how could those dog tablets work!

Hello overgrow.
As I am growing autoflowers, I am expecting it will be a low yield with main branch plant.
Iāve been watching some YouTube videos lately where people do whole lot of LST on those plants.
Chopping the top off, cutting the all āunnecessary leavesā. Honestly I am scared to do something like this.
What would be your instruction for a newbie what kinda lst I should do?
She is 13 days old now. Will be ready for LST within 3 days or so.

I went up there and topped my plant which is 14 days old. Not sure if I did the right thingā¦ it had 4 approximately 4 nods below the top.

I was going to tell you not to chop, but as it was a personal choice I didnāt reply. I only top when I fail calculating the stretch, always want to grow plants in a natural way, without LST or top.
I was confident on your fear to do it, now thereās no way back, a pic will help for the next steps ā¦
People normally top at the 4th or 5th node, I also trim the first ones so my plants have more aeration, lots of humidity here ā¦

Iāve just noticed some bitten off parts of leaves. From today we are having typhoon. And fed my plant with nice slow release nitrogen just in case if rain washes all out from the soil.
I am worried your plants are going to struggle.
I love to High stress train plants. I prefer the manifold style that uses this same technique of topping, twice!
I do not do this to my autoflowers. They cannot handle the stress and will remain very small. Auto flowers are very sensitive to stunning. Photo period plants can hide a lot of sins with time that autos donāt have.

Well, that was a hell of a lesson if they donāt grow anymore.
I wonder if you guys care about the water leaking out from the bottom of the pot.
After 3 days, once I water my plant, I wanna check the pH of the leakageā¦ I am suspecting that water may have a higher pH. Why? I use slow release fertiliser. These are dry, ball shaped, small fertilizers which good for rainy season. It doesnāt get washed out completely during rain.
As much as I understand fertilizers increase the pH, donāt they?
I grow in hydro. If water comes out the bottom Iām VERY upset.
Soil growers do measure pH and EC of the water, they call it runoff. Some fertilizer do impact the pH and there are ways to adjust it.
I will let one of the soil growers speak on that.

Yes very much. I put garbage bag tarps down as a little insurance and I also bought these circular trays and am very happy with them. Very solid plastic. Works perfect for 1G pots.
I expect we have very different styles but it works for me.
So what do you do with that water? Do you pH them? How much pH difference is acceptable according to you ?

As a rule I try not to have water flow through. The saucer is just so I donāt destroy the floor by accident.
I donāt do anything this this water. Iām afraid I canāt help you with pH because I donāt really check? Did you have any specific questions?
My question is do you measure your water coming out of the pot.
By measuring your leakage, you can see whats the pH difference of the water you put into the pot and out of the pot. Some growers do it to understand whether their soil is on the right pH or not.

Today I noticed the leaves of my plant is green AF. Well fed for sure. I ordered a pH meter yesterday, so I wanna make sure my soil is on the right pH.
