It’s always unsettling to discover a venomous snake so close. Many years ago in Arkansas, we had an entire nest of copperheads in our yard. We found 1 or 2 every day for nearly a week. Thankfully, I live on the side of a mountain, far from the low-lying areas that hold water moccasins and copperheads, and the occasional rattler.
Unfortunately, what we have here on the mountain is worse than venomous snakes: scorpions. Those freak me out worse than anything. I’d rather deal with the snakes, the bobcats, the panthers (yes, those DO actually still live out here)…all at the same time than scorpions.
