Surprized to see a flouro bulb still working, I had to convert all mine to led grow tubes

Kind of itching to build a little LED clone light. I have plenty of Samsung strips and all the material to build one just need to pick a driver.

no clue 'bout building lights, i did look into it, but in the end it’s easier for me to unbox and hang… now i try to just stay outside and let the sun do my lighting, saves me even more, but if u got the parts, I say do it…

Took the big girls out for some fresh air. Gave em about in hour long ass kickin.

While i had them out i had to put some osb under the top rack. The dog grates are great for keeping stuff off the light below it, its just to flimsy for my rack spacing.

Took a pic of the clones i just added from hoss8455.
4 days in the dark for delivery and 5 days later they look great!

Also started 2 of Andrane fem Coral Kush
and 2 of LDA fem Cap Junky. 3 of the 4 came up with helmet heads. I may have been a little rough. 1 of the CK aren’t loooking real hot.

I start mine at 90ppfd and bump it up a little each day until it’s at about 150ppfd after 2 weeks. I usually start seeing roots by 10 to 14 days. Sometimes they take longer depending on strain, temps, etc.

Thanks Tracker. Appreciate the help! I’ve cut plenty of clones but seem to always kill some.

I’m sure there are many posts on OG about cloning techniques. I don’t follow a strict protocol. What I’ve had decent success with for the past couple of years is using rockwool in a dome setup similar to yours. I get around 95% success with this method.

I mix a 1/4 strength batch of nutes using the same stuff I feed my veg plants.

In one container, put some of the mix and add in dry powder rooting hormone. Soak the rockwool in there. Sometimes I don’t use any hormone because I’m out or I forget. Sometimes I don’t have dry hormone, but I have gel. In that case I dip the tip of the cut after soaking and before stabbing. I can’t say for sure that i notice a significant difference in success rates with or without hormone.

Mix the rest of the 1/4 strength nutes with a light dose of azamax, spinosad, Southern Ag GFF, and Monterey BT to kill any pests and control PM. Use this mix for soaking the cuts.

Remove the soaked rockwool from the liquid after a few minutes, and let the excess water run off.

Take cuts from the target plant. Prepare them so at least 1 node will be below the surface of the rockwool and at least 1 above. Soak the cuts in the mix for 30 sec or a minute. If using rooting gel, dip tips of cuts before stabbing.

Stab the cuts into the rockwool. I only use the precut hole in the rockwool for cuts with thick stems that fit tightly. For thin stems, use a toothpick to open another hole in the rockwool so the cut fits tightly.

If using the mix described above for soaking the cuts, do not expose to strong light (direct sunlight or grow lights) until the cuts are dry to the touch. Exposure to light will burn them badly. Before putting under the dome and exposing to light they must dry first. That might take 20 to 40 minutes depending on environmental conditions. Just keep them in a dark area (doesn’t have to be total darkness, just no bright light) until they are dry.

Put under dome with vents closed. I have the tray on a heating mat set to 72F. Set lights for 90ppfd at top of dome.

Exchange air in dome at least 1 time per day. After a few days, crack the vents open a little, and start doing more air exchanges, 2 times per day. Start bumping up the light intensity little bit each day.

After about 1 week, leave vents open. Continue removing dome to exchange air at least daily. By this time you might need to moisten the rockwool. Target 150ppfd for light intensity at 2 weeks.

Some plants that root fast are showing roots by 10 days. Some plants take 3 weeks. Once they show roots, I put them in solos with soil and harden them off to the ambient environment. Leave the unrooted cuts under the dome.

They might stress a little with the change in humidity and need a few spritzes. Slowly start hardening them to stronger light. After a few days hardening to humidity and light, they should be ready to handle the regular veg light intensity.

Whoa, thanks for the detailed cloning introductions.
Very well explained.
I’m using jiffy pods, but there are definitely points from your detail writeup that i can incorporate to better my
process.

In the 90’s i would cut them, drop in a cup of water then dip in clonex, then right into straight promix.
From there just spray bottle them 2-3 times a day.
The only person to ever help or mentor me in my 20’s showed me that. Boy i killed a lot of cuts.

@Trickster said just do it. Thanks for the nudge. Lights built still need a driver.

I repurposed a old electric razor scooter charger for a driver for the diy clone light. 24v 1200ma. Its only 30w and killing it.

Plants adjusting to Mother Nature. Left them out all day yesterday. There adjusting well. Only problem they grow so much in a day there running out of head room in the grow room when i bring them back in.

Last one for today.
This is the autos, rooted cuttings, and my FEM seed starts. The FEM seeds i missed the mark i think on the recycled soil. So issues but they will be good.
