My Water Culture

crazy world! They are unsexed seeds, this will be very interesting!!!

without further ado, here they are!

getting their second set of leaves! Ol “tri-pod” there has a fully formed third leaf now. I was thinking of re-arranging the third seedling, it’s getting kind of overshadowed by…things. Give it a bit more verticality on that wire. All the roots are very long now, I should take a photo.

the big bud are getting three leafs now. I think it was poor light exposure that lead to the flower hormone production. I’ll try and give them more exposure and see what happens. Shouldn’t be hard to figure out what lame condition is triggering veg-bloom…

The flash is creating false color as well, perhaps I should shine a flashlight on them before I take a photo. The purple light is tricky!

hmmm well I think I’ll have to take a lights out photo to get a good image. Even the flashlight looks weird.

There’s a photo of the roots, they are gathering in the same spot for some reason.

I lowered the water level and took out the cup shaped neoprene. Now there’s just a bread tie and a neoprene disk with the roots in the water.

I cancelled the flash heh heh. The plants will be like this for the rest of their lives, except…of course, the bread tie will no longer be there. I’ll get rid of it eventually! The pot label I’m using to block the light says it all.

you might be wondering about the bread tie? well, I use it to hold the seedling…usually no more than one, in position while the roots and stem bulk up. Otherwise the seedling would be lost in space, it could easily fall in the crack and be gone forever.

Hey @JoeCrowe, where do you get those rubber inserts that hold the plants? Can you buy those separately?

I’ve heard pool noodles are a decent substitute… If you can’t find these fancy plugs locally.

yah I bought those things at the store, but anything black and made from neoprene works.

here we go!

Seedlings are moving along, you can see they are busy bonding in the root zone. I wonder if they talk to each other through the root.

Another veg room photo! One day, perhaps I’ll show all the doors leading to my grow. 5 to get to the veg room and 6 to get to the bloom. You have to walk through the veg to get to bloom. Some of the doors don’t have weather stripping…but they definitely keep out infested humans.

The second door says plant biohazard. Then there’s the decontamination area/dab/vape area, then two more doors. The decontamination area has doors on both sides.

I think…there could be a few buds here.

They smell really good, like the live rosin I won made out of king tut buds. mmm I still haven’t completely vaped the spoils, there are traces left

Making some nice spear like colas. They look so much nicer in natural light too. :+1::seedling:

yah the camera isn’t like the human eye, stupid thing generates false colors all the time. At least my eye can adjust to the strange spectrum so things look normal again after a few seconds. Damn camera and its white levels, I never bother trying to adjust. One day, I’ll get a decent camera that has good white level control. Or… who cares I spose. Lights out works good too. That bloom photo was taken during lights out with just a single LED light lit in the room so the camera can focus without IR. In high school we used to develop black and white photos in the dark room…lol Welcome to the digital age.

Another fucking power outage, this one was 12 hours. Probably enough time to generate an edge case on the photo period. Probably generate some pollen what a bullshit deal.

Shit man. That really does blow. I get power issues too and it drives me crazy. Very frustrating. Fingers crossed they will just shake it off.

Does this happen often? Have you considered a generator or even an LED light on a UPS for a backup? It really doesn’t take all that much light to break the photoperiod.

yah the last one happened on the 7th of this month and was 36 hours down. I have emergency power in the form of a generator and I do have a couple UPS systems for the computers. I should set up a couple LED lights to keep the photo period going though…hmm I wonder if I could do it with like 50 watts or something. I use the generator now if the power is down for longer than 12 hours but only as a backup for the fridges/freezers lol. I should construct emergency lighting for the plants though…ohh shit but I also need some oxygen. 50 watts light and me stirring the buckets would probably work for a few days.

ok more photos! I got more uhh normal colors.

there you can see they are lively and healthy. All that flash photography doesn’t work out under purple light, it’s bizarre!

The bonding process has definitely begun in the root zone. How all the stems came together like that is still a mystery, and it could just be coincidence! They are just like before, with one in the middle and one on either side, with all the roots the same length intertwined. I’ll take more photos eventually! I think they are helping stabilize each other in the water, the bubbles are pretty serious
