Oh I missed this thread for the last few years

I’ve grown and reproduced bodhi’s maria Sabina f2 which were okay. Not crazy strong or anything. I did strayfox’s hopi trippy citrus x maria Sabina and some cherry red 401s the next year, both were okay. Hopi’s up front and cherry red in back

Here’s another cherry red too in flower

I definitely preferred the cherry red to the MS/HTCMS.

I grew out some harrow velvet and moldovan 456 last year from oniell seeds on Etsy

and those were both really good plants. Pic was from early July last year. I can’t find a newer one right now sadly. Im planning on running 8-12 of them this year if I can.

just found this thread… looking at pouches of pipe tobacco the other day at our only local store. The had a good selection of Amphora and a couple other commercial blends but starting at 58bucks canadian for a pouch up to 80 sumthin… I did not buy anything.
I generally order my tobacco from 4noggins and a small order will last me most of the year but I guess the risk is that the border catches it and applies the 80sumthin percent taxes we get raped for on tobacco. 2oz of balkan blend … 9bucks usd… 2 oz amphora… 64.00cnd… criminal.
So I am going to grow my own this year. There is a tobacco seed retailer here in BC and they appear to have a decent list. Will order some virginia, burley and oriental and get a bunch of plants going for the greenhouse. We can legally grow 15kg of dried tobacco plant per person here in Canuckistan so I gotta get on it LOL
Will have to read through this whole thread but I’m excited to get growing my own pipe tobacco.

Oh awesome! Those peppers very hot? I have some tiger jalapeños and Habanados in soil but they are taking forever to sprout so fingers crossed.

Does anyone have any good tobacco seeds? :grinning:

I’m not sure yet…they were a gift from a carnivorous plant forum member. Apparently it’s Thai chili x ghost pepper or something.
Hot peppers are always so much fun to grow…especially the odd ones.

Not sure about how good they are as I haven’t figured out cure yet but I have some tobacco seeds.

whoops… wrong place

Inspired me to look into it more. Would be nice to have a tobacco plant or two. Use the big leaves as wrappers for special group occasions

Really interesting thread. I’d like to grow some tobacco for blunt wraps. Something smooth, sweet, rustic, and can grow in a hot dry environment. I’ll probably air dry and cure inside a tent.

What cultivar or variety would be good for that?

[edit]Ok, I just ordered some Connecticut Shade seeds. I’m going to grow it underneath my back porch and it will be the finest tobacco of all the land!
