Nagel420 - Third Times A Charm!

I feel like VT is gonna be in the same spot. 2022 was supposed to be the opening of retails establishments and we’re still debating policy issues and holding opt out votes :man_shrugging:

Upstate ny is far from up and running we dont have rec dispos the capital region has .pharmacannis and a couple others but they have been here for medicinal for some time and not up for recreational sale …

Some guy down here does the 100$ sticker deal and a couple other things between that grey area …last I heard you could have five poundsof weed in your house …but you can’t buy it from anywhere ……recreational dispos r coming out in 2023 after that us non medical card holders can start …I said something about six plant 12 per house hold three in veg three in flower .idk ….I haven’t looked into it lately but last I heard pot is legal recreational and that’s about it

Living on the border of NY (I can be in NYS in 10 minutes), I have watched both sides. We’re both in similar situations, BUT NY will have homegrow, and NJ doesn’t as far as I have read… And we can possess 6 ounces at home, or have 1 on our person… And scaled limits for concentrates (ie grams not ounces)…

2/21/22 is when Rec sales are slated to start, but 12/15/21 is when cultivation licenses were started. Hmm… Where is that rec weed gonna materialize from in 2 months time? Even the fastest autos wouldnt be cured by then.

And don’t forget, being illegal on the federal level keeps this out of interstate commerce. Its not like a recreational shop in jersey can purchase from a grower in CO, CA, OK or WA without violating Federal law and going down. So pretty much all legal product in any given legal state, must be produced in that state at the moment…

Oh they got it stockpiled and waiting …We have a place use to be the old correctional building a while back they turned it into a weed facility It’s called Vireo my one buddy operates the oil infusing machine ol lady applied for a job never got called drive past there at night whole place is lit up …also a big move forward on a old beech nut factory with plans on turning that into a grow operation been four months nothing else has been said

As much as it bums me out I hope our idiots know what a good thing they lost. If they could have gotten this done when they were supposed to originally they would have made a ton of revenue from NY residents coming here for weed. Instead they mucked it up (although fairly Ron Dickhead Rice and his influence were the main hurdles) and missed out. We were on track to make history with our legalization and instead we just blew it and then half ass legalized eventually.

i feel the same way about our state @Slick1 VT already has a reputation for craft food, beer, and maple syrup, people would have been clamoring to come up here for craft cannabis as well, but that ship fucking SAILED man. i was fuming because every time our gov. gets on to talk about our financial issues he points out the lack of industry here, and needing to try to entice a younger tax base into living here to help offset our aging population. two things that a vibrant craft cannabis market would have provided a solution for. but no, we need a roadside test before we can do that! and now its basically turning into the same corpo-cannabis nonsense we see everywhere else. fucking idiots running things here in the northeast!

From what growers though? Medical, as it is, can’t keep up with patients demand. And they cannot offer recreational until they show they can meet medical demand first.

If they opened to recreational sales, they would be sold out in days… Maybe not even…

If I’m not mistaken when Colorado went recreational the first day was an amazing dollar well over $1 million for the small amount of dispensaries and the first week they sold out of all the weed that they had available

I didn’t even think of that tbh !

So that being said Wouldn’t it make since to legalize recreational/commercial growing first before trying to sell

Now now… When did you EVER expect a politician to make sense? Arent the two mutually exclusive of each other??

In Missouri it’s all about the greed of the government and big business. There were folks who paid for their medical license, good for one year, at the start of the program who had to renew before a single dispensary opened. Commercial cultivation licenses were awarded to whomever lined the pockets of the current administration. Some conglomerates were awarded multiple licenses but then they sat on them. If they only have one up and running they can charge more at the retail level due to scarcity. 3 years later and it’s still that way! Many people here choose to obtain a temporary medical license and drive over the border to Oklahoma to stock up. Even with travel and hotel, you’ll come out ahead because their prices are so low (often half the Missouri price!), plus they have a huge selection and better quality.

Fortunately we have fairly generous home cultivation policies. I pay $100 per year and can have 6 seedlings/cuttings, 6 in veg, and 6 in flower at any time. I’m also a registered care provider for two other patients so technically I can have 54 plants running (18 in each of the three phases) - if only I had room!!!

Alright, for those of you with 3D printers, here’s my version of the flip washer. 1" stickers can be used to close / seal it up. Lighter than a washer as well!

When Massachusetts went recreational the one Dispo in the area had to rent a fairgrounds to handle the parking and bus people to the VeriLife shop in small groups. They hired off duty cops for crowd control. This went on for a few months.

I hafta say tho that it was a real joy to chat up one of the cops whilst holding my designer swag bag of CannaPleasure!

These three ladies. From L to R, NL x BC (Creamy Blacklights), BC x BC (Black Cream) and BJH x BC (Black and Blue Jack) all have the same father. (the far right is also a BC) Its something cool to see which traits carry over from the parents, as I have grown all three prior to pollenation and these resulting crosses.

Lets start with the Northern Lights x Black Cream cross.

Clearly she kept moms flowering time, you can see her buds are nowhere near as fat as the black creams are… yet. They will get there, mom was like 2-3 weeks slower than the black creams were. She also kept moms classic christmas tree shape and height, as well as leaf distribution. But there’s purple nugs in there  And mom didn’t have purple nugs.

The Black Cream looks like the Sweet Seeds black creams. Same growth, stature, branching. A bit stunted here from a fertilizer OD in week 2 of flower (I have others that are matching mom’s 3’ height that I didnt goof on and overfertilize). But this is one of the first tester seeds, almost ready for the chop.

And finally, the Black and Blue Jack - Blueberry Jack Herer from @Rabeats2093 crossed with the Black Cream. Again, mom’s growth pattern seems to be dominant, short but branchy. The leafyness of mom also has come thru, hate to say it but not a fun plant to trim in comparison to the black creams! Theres TONS of larger fan leaves by comparison. Seeing a little bit of purple to the nugs, but not much yet. And she’s also on the slower side like mom was.

All in all, seeing three plants made from pollen that I spread, and having seen the parents, AND being able to recognize which were their parents by look alone, is REALLY FRICKEN COOL… Just shows you that even though its basically the same plant, there really are identifieable traits, even in very similar looking plants.

edit: these ladies all got a bit of a nute overdose at week 2 which I can see stunted them. Most woulda tossed and started over, but I learned from my mistake, still will get nugs from them, and can see compared to my non-stunted ones just how much damage the overdose did. Too much P/K in 2nd week of flower and got potassium burns the next day… Good to know for the others

Its a neat feeling knowing I made those seeds… Not that I grabbed em randomly out of a bag, but that I purposely made them with an intended outcome, and it appears to be happening as planned.

Its also really neat to look at it as an exaggerated pheno hunt for those who have never pheno hunted. By having different strains involved, you CAN see the traits that dad brought vs what mom brought. Granted thats by strain / not a pheno hunt, but to the untrained eye, that exaggeration might help them to know what TO look for in a pheno hunt.

When I planted that BJH x BC seed, I purposely left it unlabeled with 4 black cream seeds I made. I wanted to see if the resulting plants would be noticeably different, and I wasn’t disappointed!

If this was how I learned genetics in HS vs the blue eye / green eye punnet squares, I really woulda paid more attention ROFLMAO
