Sorry guys, been a shit week. Lost a friend on the islands in the beginning of the week, and on thursday lost my uncle / godfather.

Just been a shitshow of a week and I obviously havent been myself. Dealing with personal issues on top of all that hasn’t helped either.

That definitely sucks, but at least you’re still above ground. Hanging tough or falling apart grieving, you’re still here to do it. Take whatever time you need, pretty sure we’ll make it another week without you… though it’ll be tough. I’ve almost forgotten what it’s like waking up to a gay joke and an argument about Taylor Ham vs Pork Roll, @Slick1 is so much tamer when you’re not around to compete with for attention.

Ok, explain this one to me.
Alaskan Purple. Cutting was taken months ago, and has been growing in a mini octopot for a while. She’s a tall lady, double the height of the GDP and WW in the same pots / cut at the same time. (for reference the GDP and WW are 18" tall mama bushes, she’s pushing 36" easily) She’s in the corner for a little height (no vent / lights in the way), and also there’s a draft near that wall / along that wall. As a result, she’s pruned FAR less, because she’s hard to reach. So, its been about 3 weeks since I last pruned her and I pull her outta the corner yesterday to prune her.
This bitch is FULL ON flowering!! Not a few pre-flowers, but full on 3 week old flowers… And she’s never seen anything other than 18/6 lighting. I have two other clones of the same plant / taken same time (just in felt pots and much shorter), and they are veggin like mad. ALL of the flowers on her were also WAY high, i.e. above my current light height (hence the need to prune, they were reaching the floorboards between the joists!). The flowers were hidden by the height.
SO… What gives? 18/6 lighting, but half the plant is above the light height, so its still getting light, just not the full brunt of it. The draft is COLD, in the 50’s at times (still working with expanding foam / filling cracks), could that cold air have triggered flowering?
I grew out 4 cuttings prior, and no issues, no herms just good little ladies. They didn’t veg near as long though. And this one’s only been vegging a few months, 3-4, at best I think…
I moved her to the 3x4 flower tent rather than prune and force a re-veg.

Wild-ass guess: Stress-reaction? That freaky cut was from a branch on the mother plant that was hermie, going female and the light stress from her abnormal height and the drafty cold kept her trending female…

Is she in a small plastic pot ?
If so this is happened to me several times I’ve often run small plants in half gallon plastic pots just to keep her mom around ( long veg) some of them get extremely root bound and I’ve been told because of this they force flower
I find if you root prune then early on it will help this form happening
She’s in a 2 gallon felt pot on a mini octopot… Plenty of roots / space in the reservoir still…
@GrouchyOldMan there was no hermie, not mom, nor any that I have run. Mom never showed balls no matter what I threw at her. Solid strain, and I do like the look of the nugs. Glad I have other cuts here, but I was thinking the temperature might have been the straw that breaks the camels back here. the drafts are in the 50s, but the room stays about 70-72, dropping to 62 at night.The lower light level reminds me of a shadey forest on a full sun day. Its certainly not dim, just not under the light directly.
@Papalag Not rootbound yet, but I guess root trimming with the mini octopots its gonna be easy, just lift and snip? Can’t imagine repotting it completely since roots go thru the netcup…
