Need new LED VEG light

Agree, tight little light, my only issue is his bullshit 5x5 veg footprint, he NEEDS TO CHANGE THAT

Maybe at full power at full height there’s more spread? I dunno. I was recommended to keep it at 10” and just play with the dimmer.

Well you were given good advice. 99% of the people who run the LEDs run them way up at the top of the tent wide-open they just don’t get it

These LEDs only have a depth of about 2 feet or so after that they’re not throwing any light so the way he’s getting those numbers is by using the super reflective bottom tray probably waxed and the white is six or eight or 4 inches off of it

Yep, I was there for a long time until I was like what the heck, the par numbers aren’t working. Duh, lower the light Nef :woman_facepalming::woman_shrugging:

That is one way. The other is 10" off the canopy at full blast, trying to get the moneys worth since it cost so much.

My light is designed to run at full blast 10” from the canopy.

If that were always the case no need for dimmers. Not always flowering.

It is nice to have dedicated tents/stations eh?

It is the case. It’s sized perfectly. I don’t see the point of heavy wattage you can’t use.

I see the point in a light being able to do more than one job.

It has a dimmer. Don’t move the light. Adjust the dimmer.

then it isn’t full blast

For flower it is. I think it’s silly to buy a 600w light if you’re only going to be able to use 400w of it.

I think so too. But I might only have one tent and one light.

@herojuana.tom this is what I run (the non-smart version) in my 4x4 and WHOLLY SHIT. I can’t even get it up to 100% on the dimmer it’s sooooo bright!

I have one of each, both lights are very good, but the one in question is much more flexible. My little one is a great light but it doesn’t have a dimmer which leads to some trial and error.

Headroom helps bruv. If you don’t use it you don’t, but you are doing less wear and tear on the diodes and driver, and if you needed to boost the PPFD for any reason you can.

If you are talking about your HLG100, i use mine for flower in a 2x2 pinned to the top of the tent for that reason

It’s a great seedmaker btw with autos if you just leave it on for 24/0 or 20/4!

I don’t have the headroom. And I hit 1000ppfd across the board this way so it’s all good.

I’ve got one question. Why the preference for the bar light over the board.
