Spread. Most if not all boards have hotspots you need to watch for.
I still like my board but I like this new one better. Spread doesn’t get any better.
If you think about it my light is like 8 mini 30w boards spaced perfectly.

Folk dont understand the new wave leds. The 2 we have were designed to be set 10 " off canopy for a reason How they achieve the uniform power numbers . Placing them at 24 or 36 " just defeats the whole purpose . 1000 par level across your 2x4 area is exactly what you want.
Only had the Aray 3 2 days but already see many advantages to it . Super efficient with its watts , superb focused footprint , light and easy to hang or adjust . 2 of these would easily cover a 4 x4 and would shine in flower , once stretch is over and they can be “tucked” in tight
and throw and even and high par level
I think it’s also “more power more better must have.”
But I like the different direction of giving me exactly what I need, doing more with less, and running less wattage than I used to.
No board can get the even numbers the new bars achieve in my opinion . Even HLG has bar lights now, if their board is superior , why,
My board was top of the line 5 years ago. I wouldn’t buy one now.
Im running mire watts than i want , any help reducing that is welcomed for me . The new light just saved me 150 watts , covers a larger area , and plants have in one day told me they like it much better than their old ones .
The new led tech is amazing
It is amazing isn’t it. Compared to the shit I was running 10 years ago.
It’s almost too efficient now.
I’m running 20% less wattage than before. Too early for result comparison but expectations are high.
The new Migro is flat amazing , a step up from even my 1 year old GLS lights
I’m really very impressed and I’m not easily impressed.
Good informative thread guys…
I’m a lighting idiot to be honest, but I learned a bit.
T-5s are the best to veg with I would keep that fixture around and get more with fresh bulbs. T5 is the way in my exp. The plants grow extremely well with good bulbs.
From what I’ve seen here I’m changing my tune I used to say the same as you but from what I’ve seen here I get twice the growth under the LED that I did the tea five
Il be following and see how you like them. I must have gotten a crap LED
in just 2 1/2 days every one of the ladies under that light as leafs up happy as shit I have already ordered another light
I have 20 unused 4-foot and a couple 2-foot T-5 fixtures that will never be used again. They need expensive bulb replacements, cleaning, run hot, take up a lot of space if you want high par values and don’t seem any better than an LED turned down really low I just ordered a Spider Farmer SE4500 for my veg tent last night, it can be placed 8" from my canopy and turned up full blast if I ever need another flower light. I will never go back to fluorescent nor HPS lighting
yeah do you know I’ve been having some issues lately with the younger plans and nothing has changed and I can’t understand it I’m finding out a few days in with this new light that my T fives were done even though I did take a power reading with them it’s been a while and I think they were the root of all my young plant issues
Plus was really nice about the new light is it’s 18 inches up off the canopy and it’s tiny in the center it’s not laying an inch off their heads like the T fives I’m getting really good airflow to them they’re seeing much better light and appeared to be much much happier I’m much happier to because I can actually walk around them and move them and get to them without having to jack with the lights every time LED for the win
I’m in the market for a new small light for male sequestering and maybe a clone or two and it will probably be a cheap board because it’s a veg unitasker and will only be used rarely.
I said a long time ago I wish board makers made the boards huge and left lots of space between the LEDs. It seems I’ve got one now.
Each of the little panels on my aray are only 30w
im going to fire up a 2x4 tent with 25 one gallons under an Aray 4
How do you fit that many? Do you keep them extra small?
I can do, maybe, 9, if I’m really trying.
