The labor is one of the reasons everything is a cookie derivative. Those buds all work in the trim machines.
We all should do that
Does anybody know where outdoor home growing is legal in California?
It’s regulated by each local jurisdiction(county and city) and I’m just curious if anyone knows… It’s looking like I’ll have to review every different county’s individual rules & that’s just stupid.
Where I am they want 9 plants indoor only & it breaks my f’n soul.
I live in Alameda County, the city of Berkeley in particular, and my understanding is one can have up to six plants with no prohibition on outdoor grows. Note that that is simply my understanding, not necessarily the law. I grow outdoors (when I don’t poison my entire crop as I did last year), as do a bunch of other local folks I know. Of course, we all have to be careful, not of being arrested if there are fewer than six plants, but of having crops stolen. I have had plants stolen from my enclosed, gated back yard.
State’s laws are goofy, I think. I’ve followed the legal gymnastics here in Maine, to some degree.
You can tell that a lot of people with little to no knowledge of the field have had a great amount of influence here.
For example, we can have 8 plants outdoors, but only 3 can be “mature”. We’ve got 6mos. If we grow 8 plants outdoors, they will all mature at roughly the same time.
They also can not be identifyable by the naked eye. This gets misquoted as “can not be SEEN by the naked eye”, which is totally different.
Then they wanted fences around any outdoor plants. Nothing says “I’m growing weed RIGHT HERE!!!” like a fence around some plants. People in my town were putting up dog kennels and covering them with green tarps. Nope. Nothing strange going on here! Nothing to see…move along, move along.
In 1969, some friends and I were visiting friends of ours in Arcata, CA. One day, two of my traveling buddies were walking in Eureka when they passed a large, empty lot. The three non-street sides of the lot were backs or sides of industrial buildings.
As they walked, Brad noticed that there appeared to be a tiny, tiny plant way the fuck over against the wall of the far building. The salient point is the plant’s color, its singular green color, stood out to his sharp eye.
Of course they had to investigate, and when they did they discovered a fully mature female plant over six feet tall! The ground near the building had a steep fall-off that you couldn’t see any evidence of from the street. Now the quandary was, did the plant belong to anybody. They decided to hang a note in a prominent place on a branch. They dated it and said if the plant was still there the following day, they were going to harvest it. When they returned late the following day, the plant was still there, so they chopped it and brought it to our friend’s house to dry.
For us, at that time the best weed we ever smoked was Thai sticks, and they were relatively new.
That plant, of course, was in a whole other league. It was a revelation for all of us to get to smoke such amazing pot! The woman who was to become my first wife accused me of somehow lacing the pot with LSD. I kid you not.
But I digress in my stoned ass state. My point is that that seems like a pretty fucking high bar, not visible to the naked eye.
Somebody may have compiled a list but local ordinances change so often it’s best to look them up individually. I’m pretty sure my county still allows six outdoors but prop 64 was a major step backwards in regards to patients rights , it’s all set up to extort as much tax money as possible and limit people’s access to anything but there criminally overtaxed over the counter mids. All these regulations and I’ve seen more moldy old and sub par products then ever before. The carts are hit or miss and 90% of the flower is trash. There keeping anybody from getting to big so when the real big guys step in it will be a smooth take over. Most legal cannabis businesses/commercial growers in California are sinking in excise tax and desperately holding on to a dream while watching it become a nightmare.
Quickest way to narrow it down is make a list of places you could afford to live and would want to and then see which ones allow outdoor personal grows, I don’t expect it would be to long as much of California falls outside of those parameters for most people.
Thanks when I get more stabilized from culture shock would like to try and smoke & gripe with you sometime.
It looks like Prop 215 medical use & rights were preserved & allow to exceed the 6 plant rule … however the CA Supreme Court declined to hear a case where that was the main defense.
You’re right on all counts…
The situation here in Sacramento is deteriorating & indoor isn’t an option- my old man is tearing up the house to renovate & wants to put me in a trailer in the backyard 🤦 so am still wondering wtf to do this year.
Aloha
My county is about 2.5 hours east of sac , it’s alright , they allow six outdoors but lots of little details that prevent most from being able to. We were allowed 12 outside prop 64 took us back to six.
Medical is in place but prop 64 got rid of sb420 and brought medical back in to a vague hard to defend area , up to twelve indoors is rather safe , maybe outdoors depending where and how big of a peice of property, it’s all incredibly complicated for something that is recreationally legal.
Prop 64 is horrible for so many reasons and It’s going to take a long time to undue the damage done if that’s even possible.
I told this in another thread but funny still. My little bro lived in Glendale for a few yrs. I sent him out some seeds to grow and he grew 6 huge plants literally right next to the street. He didn’t know any better and had no idea they would get so big. Nobody touched them. People walking by cops driving by ,it was insane. I flew out from Ohio to harvest them for him and drove back in his car with about 6 oz in the back! Totally different World over there. A few plants here others behind the camera growing in a old cast iron bathtub flower planter. The other houses going up the hill had to have seen the plants too. Weed is like popcorn and peanuts at the gas station there. After we harvested trimmed and dried them a bit them None of his roommates or their friends wanted to even smoke the weed they were like UGH uh no thanks. More for us to smoke in the end ha ha. Cali is way more OG for sure than Ohio
^ LMAO thats equal parts HILARIOUS and awesome!!
