So let me see if I understand:
Cross is Autoflowering with a Photoperiod - results in “Fast Photo” This I understand.
Pollinate the “Fast Photo” with the “Fast Photo” male - results in 25% Auto - Does this mean 25% of the seeds will be Auto? So you would have to grow them to figure out which are Auto and which are not? Then female/male? Them breed non Autos?
Then pollinate an Auto with and Auto - results in 100% Auto - Again, does this mean that ALL the seeds will be Auto? Now you would have to grow out all of the seeds from the above cross to NOW find a male/female Auto and breed them?
Why could you not just cross the results of the first cross (Fast Photo) with the same Auto from the first cross? Would that not increase the Auto genetics in the new cross?
Ok give me a sec to answer all the questions… . .
Yes
Yes and yes
No breed the autos you find
Yes
Only if you want to keep making seeds . . .You could also feminise at this point
Because that would give me a lower genetic traits of the razzleberry and it would still only give me 50/50 auto-photos
The original auto will be dead, remember they cannot be cloned. You could, in theory, back cross to the male by saving his pollen. But as @Hoodini mentioned you would be getting back to the auto genetics and away from the razzleberry genetics.
This is an example of how you would make an auto version of a photoperiod cultivar. By far the easiest way is to just breed male and female autos.
I understand the crossings now. Been a LOOOONG time since Biology.
I didn’t think about that. if you kept pollinating with the original Auto strain you would get more of it’s traits. I see that now.
Well awesome I love learning and especially when someone can learn something from me. . .with reiko’ s help . . . So thanks bro and happy growing🖒
I was thinking of the original Auto strain not the actual plant
The procedure that you wrote out?
So if I every get there I need to keep a male and female auto and the seed with be viable/auto?
Yup I can also send you any seeds I make if you want them. . .I will have a list here in a month lol
I’m glad a lot of you are making F2s. My Lowryder x La Diva is almost all gone. I plan on making some F2s myself. But I will pull off phenotypes (I dont like the tall low yielding ones).
I have a few other crosses left though. Plus the work I’m doing with the Juanitas (rooting some cuttings now).

Hey @ReikoX what’s the fastest you’ve seen an auto start popping off??
Your throwning down some great discussion material and content well deserved! Keep up the great work @Hoodini!
Most my LR x LD are about three weeks, this one looks to be even faster! The fastest male in the west!
2 weeks is not uncommon for the faster strains to start showing sex.
Ok well I’m still calling him “Quick Draw McGraw” fastest male in the west. . .Thanks guys
@ReikoX this little guy is a LR x UV2
