Octopot Grow System

thank you for that.looks like my 3x3 will only take, 3. HA! I measured my closet, I should be able to fit the other octo in there. love it when it works out.

3x3 will take 4, tightly packed. You may need to place a peice of plywood down to elevate the octopots off the bottom of the tent so it can clear the poles.

At least thats what I had to do with the smaller tent.

i get you. I dont have the need to cram them. other space would work like magic anyway. the plan will work…maybe. lol

I mean you could do 3, and put a rez in there for autofill.

Making my own Octogrid…

Just need to make up the fabric to finish it up.

Because Octopot makes it super easy. Wish this was around when I was growing outdoors.

My number one selling point was the “No runoff to waste”

I was running fabric bags, and I would water the plants until 20% runoff. Then I was putting that leftover water in my veggie garden. It was expensive and wasteful.

There is no runoff with the :octopus:, The plant sucks up what it needs and in 5-8 days, youll feed them again.

I’m saving money on water, nutes, and im saving my sanity of having to water plants for almost 2 hours until it was finished.

With the Octopots, I’m mixing the nutes up in a 15 gal blue barrel, takes about 30 mins, then I just pour it in the res of the Octopots, which takes about 7 mins. In one week I’m spending less than 40 mins feeding the plants, and I get to spend more time tending to the growth instead of watering.

Let’s see how the DIY mesh bag stacks up against the strapped Octobags.

Octopot 6 gal
Octomicro 1gal

Planning for this fall.

Cobbling begins.
Fixed net pot. Might hot glue a 4inch pot to the base. Along with enlarging the lid hole.

1gal on 1gal.

This thread, and that dang @Papalag thread is to blame. I usually run coco dtw in 1 and 2 gals.

Loving this thread…

I think this is going to be my next project.

This DYI this B!

How about adding a aeroponic bubbler / pump in the reservoir?

That’s a no go for the octopot, unless it’s run at 5-15 mins per hour.

It also jacks up the ph

Put it on a timer…PH can be adjusted, if needed.

Right?

I can’t give you a solid answer because I don’t run it and haven’t before.

my question is why?

octopots dont need to have airstones.

It helps if it’s really really hot and can keep the roots happy

That’s the only time I tried it not needed

I’ve a small fluming pump in my rezevoir. Runs twice a day for 45min.

I plan to keep the rez outside of the tent and use the existing water lines to top up my octopots.

No airstones here… plants seem perfectly healthy. My roots are having a party…

Found these net pots that fit the mini Octo lid with no mod.

Using a 2gal fabric here.

My single 6gal Octopot is feeling neglected. It’s ready for sept.

cant wait to see how it goes, the biggest fear i have with that unit is the grow medium being soaked.

For sure experimental.
Should things go wonky, my backup plan is to revert to the usual top feed.

Plan to use 50/50 coco/perlite.
Jacks nutes.
