OG Kush - The Original Genetics

It’s a mix of genetics I wouldn’t expect one terpene profile but many , here are the genetics on master Thais Tahoe Og , his og stands for organically grown as he was a advocate of it in the 80s when synthetics were becoming the new trend.
That Afghan Thai cross is the same as what is known as blue orca if I’m not mistaken…

Hmm, I wish I knew where it came from. The cultivar is sure special and hardy. I would love to get my hands on some of his seed stock to compare with.

There are members here who might still have some but I’m not sure if they would part with them or not as they would be pretty much impossible to replace at this point. There are a few master thai threads on here though you might want to check out…

Exactly

Original NL was the 2 Affys. Before they ever talked to Nevil.
Then NL outcrosses all got numbers.
Some say #1 was Bxed to their own Affy, some say its NL x Nevil’s Affy #1, some say NL x Skunk. I lean towards the Bx.
None of the original players are reliable sources anymore. Greg said he tells a different story to the publica than he tells to people he respects. And then the mental issues.

All I know, in a time when there weren’t more than a few good Afghan lines, the Seattle and Tacoma crew did some amazing work to make a consistent finished product.

The 92 looks more narrow than the original cutting.
Ghost looks more like the original.

The ghost is supposed to be the original according to most.

If the Ghost is supposed to be the original and Ghost sourced it from Orgnkid, how did Orgnkid get all these cuts back in the day? I don’t know if I have heard that part of the legend of where Orgnkid gets plugged in.

Gonna answer my own question because I just listened to the episode of the Adam Dunn show where they were investigating the origins of OG kush and had Orgnkid on the show. He got his cut directly from the Josh D crew back in the olden days. Said he hunted for the the cut for awhile before they finally gave up a cut to him. Cost him 5 grand and 5 pounds. Guess he was a dude that just knew the right people to get these fire cuts.

wow, so is that where the OG in OG Kush comes from? Or did the guys on OG1.0 just make a clever pun? :joy:

Yeah, he knew 50 people named “Benjamin” :joy::rofl:

Yes! Networking is funny like that. I was already growing fire but wanted maybe 3 specific cuts and just couldn’t get them. I knew who what where, wouldn’t happen. When I started clapping my mouth about my setups destroying errrbody shit and had proof, dudes only then were offering uber duper secret cuts on a silver platter. Scratch muh back while I do your sister, the saying goes or something like that yeh

5 grand PLUS 5 pounds of what I am assuming was chronic, back in the days that pounds of chronic were going for 4000-6000 so the ticket for that OG kush clone was probably 25k-35k!

Taos OG (formerly OG Tahoe)

45 ounces dry yield on an 18 inch transplant in late June, harvested end of September.

Someone who sampled the bud recently said it tasted like citrus, and here I’ve been saying it doesn’t have that in it. Now I’m even more curious as to what this originally was. It’s prolific, for sure.

The ‘OG’ comes from it being the original Kush.
OG as in the term ‘Original Gangsta’, comes from the hip hop/rap culture

There were a lot of imitations floating around when it became popular, so the OG was added, that’s how it got the name ‘OG Kush.’

Or were you saying ‘OG Kush’ is how OverGrow got its initials?
