my buddy in hawaii was chillin with greg like last month and he was still giving my friend semi-conflicting info. ill see if i can remember later, or just ask him again what he was asking greg. wasn’t info i absorbed immediately heh.
On some level. I’ve accepted that getting consistent stories from stoners / crew is a difficult task at best, impossible at worst.
It’s not like we are dealing with professional scientists who rigorously record information… they were either cannabis lovers, money lovers, or both. Taints the whole thing.
Do tell leetdood as I’m also interested in the Bubba strains, I’m currently running the Berger cut, I would like to obtain the Pre98 if such a thing exists lol
from growing the berger cut once… it does seem different than the one CSI holds… mainly because it branches decently. Ive grown a couple csi bubba crosses and they all are very totem pole in structure. not the largest amount of evidence but csis bubba does really seem
to bring totem pole structure. It does herm similarly tho lol - super hidden in the base of the buds.
@HolyAngel and @Cannavore confirmed that the original bubba kush used in bubbashine and csi bubba work isn’t the Matt berger cut, which came from orgnkid
I have no idea what the deal is beyond that. It’s a mystery.
i made this timeline with the help of chatgpt not long ago lmfao… it’s probably not entirely accurate but i thought it was a good way to try and sort some of it out.
this was back when i was under the impression the Berger and Original BK were the same, but they’re not, so it does not mention the Berger.
So you’ve got
Original Bubba Kush (Shabud)
Katsu Bubba Kush (Orgnkid)
Matt Berger Bubba Kush (Orgnkid)
pre98 Bubba Kush (Swerve)
the Katsu and Berger are apparently different from each other but should either way pre-date the other cuts being “found”. was orgnkid truthful in what he was selling people back then?
My assumption based on what I’ve read is no. Lol. Some of these guys definitely play mix n match to fill demand.
It’s shocking the standards when you find out like, buddy ordered cuts from og raskal… didn’t get one he paid for, basically got asked to “split the loss” instead of sending the right clone or a refund…
I hear ya, with so many different versions of OG Kush, when I’m asked “ Which OG are you looking for “ it becomes a tough question to answer because I don’t know exactly which ones I’ve tried lol
The answer to “which OG (and even Bubba for that matter) is the best?”, usually comes down to which OG/Bubba can YOU grow the best? hehe. that was what i learned on the forums over a decade ago and that shits still true today =)
Loompa acquired the LHB in the mid 2000’s from a friend of his who stole cuttings from a guy he was working for. The guy his friend worked for apparently was a NY transplant to Humboldt.
It’s rumored to be a Josh D bagseed or something like that. Some of the cuts are also reportedly to just be the Josh D but undergone epigenetic changes. Like Diablo and the G-cut of Skywalker.
That’s it right there. Ends so much of the nonsense we get ourselves into over names and this cut or that cut if we just do it the right way like this. Haha. After a few runs in your room, which is best? That’s the best for you. Us stoners seem to love making things complicated though.
I mostly am interested because it helps me understand some quirks of breeding, kush, and hybridization.
Seeing phenotypical variation and how certain parents influence certain pools. Scent groups, unique traits, flower or plant morphology.
For example some of these broad leafs really do not like wet feet! But loompas headband on the other side grows pretty shallow roots so likes to be watered differently.
