I’m thinking what could have happened is the TKOrigins crew down south was running the Emerald Triangle aka Emerald Triangle Kush aka Triangle Kush and the seeds found resulted in OG Kush.
Blue Dog posts say that they went to Hoopa or someplace like that out in California to get it back, so they called it Emerald Triangle Kush. So it would seem that Emerald Triangle Kush or whatever it was called across the years had been around longer than the house in Boca.
Blue Dog also lists the lineage and it blew my mind. It’s like going back in time and seeing something that had been in front of our eyes since the beginning. Dude says it’s Hindu Kush x Lemon Thai x another Kush possibly Pine Tar worked together. The work done amongst friends. Could it have started in Florida with the initial Hindu Kush x Lemon Thai cross and later had the additional Kush possibly Pine Tar added out in the Emerald Triangle of California?
He also says she stretches when untopped and when flowered from a clone results in a 3-4 foot plant. It’s all been there since the beginning but I think the idea of a wild good chase and looking for something impossible to find may be too alluring to pass up.
Just something I thought about after reading some of those old comments on Icmag. Many blessings and much love
Ah that story. Pretty sure it’s been debunked a few times no paki lemon Thai. I still think it’s silver pearl/silver pearl haze, plus maybe an outcross.
If Blue Dog/Cornbread Ricky is who appears to be the most accredited source for real deal TK, how can his comments on the lineage be discredited?
I’d think if it was Silver Pearl or something like that it would have been named different and unique to whatever was being used, for example hypothetically: Triangle Pearl.
If it’s Silver Pearl where are the Skunk and Early Girl throwbacks in the S1’s?
The S1’s to me look more like Kush on Kush on Lemon Thai than they do Early Girl Skunk NL#5. I wasn’t there though so it could be anything. Just calling it how I see it.
Oh I hear ya. I was on that paki lemon thai idea for awhile myself but after some time with the plants, I just don’t see it. I think we’re looking at genetic outliers or s1s as it is. Can’t say anything for sure though. supposedly that emerald triangle plant was a 3 way hybrid, which silver pearl is… they’re not exactly forthcoming with info…
Even when I had a buncha OG cuts years ago now, most of them were dudded to shit. Its so hard to really know what a plants potential was decades ago. Not to mention acclimation to different environments over long periods of time. Most of these cuts were kept alive indoors. And anyone whos tried to hold plants inside for long periods of time can usually attest to how pissed off they get after a while.
I appreciate the discussion, it’s enjoyable. I’ve got to mention that Lemon Thai x Kush then worked to another Kush is also a three way hybrid. If roots for one of the Kushes trace back to Pine Tar that could explain the Emerald Triangle in the name.
A hypothetical conversation back in the day could have gone like this:
“Is this that Lemon Thai x Kush again?”
“No, this one is Lemon Thai x Kush crossed to an Emerald Triangle Kush”
Next time they meetup:
“Hey you got any more of that Emerald Triangle Kush one?”
And from then on it just goes by that. Just speculating.
Since Emerald Triangle is in the name it seems likely there would be a connection to the area, what famous Kush comes from the Emerald Triangle? Possibly some of Professors work, the Pine Tar Kush? Perhaps another pre Soviet Afghan type from someone else in the Emerald Triangle?
I don’t think Blue Dog just made up them getting it back from California so it seems the old timers before Blue Dog already had connections there.
From what I’ve heard, the people in the TKOrigins crew are youngsters that old timers would organize houses for them to crop in. That TK in my opinion was already around before they started working for/with the old timers. That’s how I think it was happening. Many blessings and much love
The name emerald triangle is not in relation to the one in NorCal , there is a emerald triangle in Florida and the plant in question was called triangle or angle, the seed that became triangle kush was found by a guy that worked in cornbread Rickey’s tattoo shop and the og kush was found in the same seeded batch of nugs but by a different person.
Kush4/nl2 x triangle
Triangle came from Washington not much other info available besides that it was earthy candy like terps… @leetdood it only gets more confusing the deeper you dig… I’m not sure who holds the 92 besides a few guys that aren’t selling clones.
The person I got the 92 from at one point said it might be crippy , crippy disappeared around 89 when the growers got busted , surfers in Florida often had crippy , was the triangle plant actually crippy idk maybe they don’t either. There was a lot of thai indica crossed happening in and around Washington at that time , a lot of Jamaican sativa floating into Florida around then also.
My 92 came from Colorado , tk is known to have gone there very early on from Florida … og kush went there with one of the la crew in the early 2000 era. The fist person I knew who could get kush and bubba kush was a glass blower from Colorado , there are a lot of overlapping stories and circles and it was a long time ago this all got started.
Big Ricky specifically talks about his old timer saying the Maple indica wasn’t selling so they needed something new, hence the Emerald Triangle Kush work.
Why do you think the word Pearl wouldn’t sell in Florida? Because you live there?
I live in Florida too. Pretty sure I surf the same spots as these guys. I’ll start asking some of the old timers about the weed scene back in the day. There are a few in particular I have heard of that I think actually know more about Crippy, some of the local legends of the surfing scene around here back in the day.
Emerald Triangle Kush
Emerald Triangle Pearl
Both still have the word Triangle to denote the three way cross. Why though would they call it Kush if it’s Early Pearl? That just doesn’t make any sense to me.
The dude who brought TK to the community says what he says. The community seems to approve of the cutting but not the story that comes along with it? I’m genuinely curious why Big Ricky is discredited about the stuff he says about the TK he has, when it’s where the TK the community has comes from. What am I missing?
We had to do lots of driving for sure. Many trips packed into trucks. Sleeping in beds of pickups at beach acesses overnight and whatnot. Hurricanes and the rare cold front would bring some swell to IRB, but we’d go north or south unless it was blown out and we were just drinking beers noodling around out there.
Check out the Lost Across America Vol II, we called it The Decline, you can see us at Sand Key. Hatch cuts his hand and whatnot. The good old days when I didn’t have all of these bills and whatnot. Haha
Problem is i want to run the clones myself and hybridize them haha like fletcher and caleb and rare dankness and all the guys did back in the day. To see the traits that pop out and whatnot and understand what direction to go.
Forgot about the white. Need to get my hands on that too.
Dont get me wrong ive raved, ranted, and rambled about the potential of modern work and the benefical traits of modern mash ups. Im eager to flower out my i95 and stardawg work and the modern selections.
But i want to see how tk, legend, and corey turned into i95. Or how chem d, chem 4, turned into stardawg. Etc
