OG Kush - The Original Genetics

Speaking of crippy i gotta shout out @hughdunno he made a florida crippy x chimera 3 that is off the charts. Some go black, insane frost, kush bracts.

I think its sold out but i sent my pack to Mahalo in hawaii to run out haha

Why does Ricky say they went to Hoopa or wherever in California to get it back? Insinuating the Florida group had tied to the Emerald Triangle in California already.

I’m from Florida and in my lifetime I’ve heard of the Emerald Triangle of Florida only twice, both online and never in real life.

Once was recently on this forum about a week ago where some goofball trying to sell seeds that got suspended was saying the Emerald Triangle in Florida is Tampa to Wildwood, to Orlando. Considering the sorce and having never heard that before I didn’t really value the asseveration much.

I have read there is an Emerald Triangle up north, Gainesville to Micanopy to somewhere else I can’t remember. I’ve tried searching for that comment again many times and haven’t been able to find it. It was the only time I read something about an Emerald Triangle in Florida that would make any sense.

Cornbread Ricky mentions University of Florida connections to the Triangle Kush so there could be a borrowing of the Emerald Triangle moniker between groups. I still think it’s in reference to the California Emerald Triangle Kush like Ricky says. Many blessings and much love

Never heard of Emerald Triangle in relation to FL until this stuff either. Gainesville has had good green for decades. Was just known as Gainesville Green back in the day. My mom and Flagler kids would go there for good flower in the 70s.

Edit: Remember a story of them going to get flower in Gainesville and partying with Cris Collinsworth at a frat party. All the young women thought he was gorgeous. Haha

will do I’m actually from a beach near kennedy airport not to give away my identity, but whatever, we also grew up catching waves, but best I can do nowadays is surf films.there’s a killer riptide here in nyc, but the waves aren’t great and the water’s cold, but beautiful white sand. I’m going to add that lost across america to the collection i used to skate also and revisited all that bones brigade stuff it complements my bong nicely ahhaah, I like morning of the earth and riding giants endless summer search for animal chin that’s all good happy shit

Late '70’s as before all the green started showing Tampa & Miami / Ft Lauderdale were the weed centers of FLA .

The Gainesville area is what I’m referring to.
Do you know when they are referring to getting it back ?
I’m not overly familiar with the Florida side of things but I know in regards to the west coast , kush , og kush , bubba kush first hit the ground in Southern California not the emerald triangle, it went from josh to his friend to orgnkid and things got very convoluted after that.

We used to roll up blunts and paddle them into the lineup just past the break and have a session right there in the ocean. The heads that would turn looking for where the smell was coming from was so entertaining. I’ll have to do that again for some enjoyable nostalgia sometime soon.

@PatHealy you’re speaking my language. I’ve surfed with the Lopez brother’s before. I remember surfing a hurricane swell that was just massive closeouts on the sandbar just trying to get into one without getting creamed. Nobody out, but someone watching from the boardwalk. I didn’t catch any, they were just too gnarly and closing out huge. I paddled in felt a little embarrassed until the dude on the boardwalk gave me respect for trying to get into some of them because they were just massive closeouts on the beach. It was Shea Lopez, and I remember feeling the embarrassment fade away and turn to pride. What a compliment and shift of perspective can do for others!

Cannabis, generics, and surfing. Some of my favorite topics. Many blessings and much love

Never saw indica until all the TK , Chem stuff appeared . Was all sativa before then at first it was Mex until '68 , them Jamaican until '70 , then Colombian took over .

TK really changed weed taste, interesting I love these stories also,

If i’m at the ocean I want sativa or at least sativa and indica both, but definitely sativa, I like the sun light hitting water to me that’s heavenly, the bobbing feeling - we had diesel to be honest we had the real sour diesel at the time in the 90s and other cheap brick weed or like styrofoam feeling hydro

Maybe the emerald triangle did come from californias emerald triangle and it’s actually dogbud aka nl5haze….
I would not be surprised by anything at this point but I doubt any of it can be 100% confirmed
Maybe it’s related to the trinity or any other sativa/indica cross that was being done in the 80s who knows
What is interesting is the 92 smells like a mix of puppy breath and baby poo when in flower and smells like dank musky hippy cologne when finished , tastes like sweet musky candy earthyness matching the descriptions of the emerald triangle.

Pretty much this. The seeds came from the tons of weed being brought in by boat and dropped by plane.

Mexican until around 1969 when the new legislation put pressure on the cannabis trade coming up from Mexico. I think those entities just moved their smuggling operations to Jamaica and Colombia, so to say, they brought Mexican varieties to Colombia in addition to whatever was already there locally. That remained until about the early 80’s when the Coast Guard started targeting the smuggling operations and pretty much nullifying it. Then came indoor.

Before indoor, I think most of the cannabis being grown here wasn’t in the metropolitan areas as much as it was in the outskirts. Places like Micanopy. I think it was sold in the metropolitan markets because that’s where it’s most lucrative where more demand would be. When indoor techniques became more commonplace I think metropolitan areas here started to produce more. Just my hypothesis. Many blessings and much love

Yes sir. My former stepdad started in the 60s in Miami. Eventually turned into indoor hydroponic “sprout farms” that were cover for grows in Hillsborough and Pasco. His old partner is now a pillar of the Tampa community. Funny stuff. Haha

Nice!!! Shea was a dick to us groms, but once we were older he was cool. Cory is much nicer and whatnot. Pete and Matty are alright. Haha Shea’s favorite line back in the day: “Were you raised in a barn?? Close the screen door!!”

I’ve heard numerous old heads say the line “Florida walked, so California could run” in relation to flower.

I didn’t know them much but always thought Cory was cooler because he was shredding Teahupoo around that time. We used to invite Shea over to the beach house parties whenever we saw him around but he never took us up on the offer. He was doing the family man thing around that time and we were staying up late partying living it up. Good times! I miss those days of my youth. Many blessings and much love

The Emerald Triangle originally came from Cali and 99% has Chem in it. There was a discussion on IG the other day and most agreed that TK was NL x Hindu or Hindu x NL, i just dont see it, maybe Bubba. And for all the Florida heads on here, i see there’s quite a few, were any of you smoking OG Kush in the late 90s early 2000s?
