man, you guys rock doing this for vets. i spent a lot of time on the original og and really missed it when it went away. it’s great to be back and just a fluke i happened to look it up one more time.

To sacrifice your heart and soul for the betterment of your country and your beliefs is truly amazing. Service veterans are amongst the most honorable people on God’s green earth. We thank you so much for your time and sacrifices. And for those that have given the ultimate sacrifice, you are not forgotten!
This is embarrassing, but I’ll share. Idk why, but I was tearing up typing that, lol. My late father was a Vietnam veteran. Military service is just something that I’m passionate about. Thanks again everyone!

That’s Awesome he does good work! I used to make tags similar to that in an old art and animation program called Paint shop Pro and Animation shop by Jasc. Belonged to some tag/avatar exchange groups and made them for fellow growers at another site a way back. Don’t have the program anymore. Lady Zandra does I think, but only uses it occasionally for memes. Very outdated but it works.

Looking back at my younger years, even though I’m still young early/mid 30s, I enlisted because I didn’t know what else to do, just got out of a bad relationship at the time, the current job wasnt worth the pay, and didn’t have any family that cared or even acknowledged me other than my grandparents.
Long story short, It was a way for me to find myself and push myself, also an easy escape from ‘the normal daily grind’ I was in at the time. I met some amazing brothers and sisters during those years. Who at first… I though I was going to be judged/bullied/not liked by. I couldn’t have been more wrong. The amount of care and compassion I found there and along the way, also the attention to detail in things, made me realize that most of the people I met were feeling just like I was at one point. Which brings me to the next part… OverGrow.
I can honestly say that I haven’t come across another bunch of people who made me feel very similar to then. I love it here at OG. So much generosity, knowledge, humor… the list can go on. But at the end of the day I feel like this place is family and that itself means everything to me.
Thank you to everybody donating, thank you to the host and helpers, and thank you to all of us/yall who served! Hooah!

I won the Nam “draft Lottery” back in the day and wasn’t called. Many, most, of my buddies were, and some didn’t come back. I have never reconciled that and I doubt I ever will.
OG is a refuge for me as well. 3200 years ago Aristotle described the highest form of friendship as a group of equals, sharing a passion towards an ideal. I think that is what most of us are here for.
In any event, I hope you are showered with CannaBeans as one of those who Stood The Line for the rest of us.
