I ment going back to the service. If your 100% isn’t P&T, then you get a nice letter in the mail from the VA headquarters every five years to do a follow up at your nearest VA hospital and do an eval to see if your still 100%.

I’m 70% P&T and I don’t want to try to up it for the fear of loosing some % due to the fact that when I got my evaluation the first time I was a month out of shoulder surgery. I rather just sit at what I got and not ask for more, even though since end of service my back has gone to total shit.

Mines permanent and total  after a 5 year battle. First it was just TDIU but then they just dropped 50% for 5 new things and I finally don’t have to worry about it any more.

Who knows what to say to thank you for your service? What is most reciprocal? I was told today by my AC guys because they saw my “I served in Afghanistan” sticker, and were so grateful their children didn’t end up having to go, but I also feel humbled and after knowing families Vietnam service, that mine time doesn’t even compare. Like I’m not worthy of saying much.

Thank you for your support is my go to, but yea, I kinda cringe when people say that to me.

Exactly, I feel so shy and awkward and find myself just saying thank you too, but I don’t know what people might expect or want to hear. I hated when in uniform being offered money at the grocery store, saying no thank you was a huge insult and demanded, so I just learned to say thank you, take it, pay forward. My upbringing just didn’t prepare me for that.

Always easiest I find to just say “Thank You” and mean it. Than again I am not the most eloquent person out there.
