Waiting patiently for the outcome!
Waiting patiently for the outcome!
You do such a good job maybe youâre in the wrong line of work. Joking it looks great. You learn a lot here not just what we do but things that we do. I have looked at that insulation it doesnât look bad.
@G-paS Thank you for youâre patients!! I should be able to keep things updated once a week at least!
@Hemp âYou do such a good job maybe youâre in the wrong line of work.â I wish I could say this is my first go with these kinds of spaces, but that would be a lie! I completely closed in a attic space for growing with just those Poly boards and expanding foam, to seal any cracks. It took some time but it was fairly successful!
One love brother!!!
Happy early Friday everyone! Working hard, or hardly working!? I for , have been busy reevaluating my plan of attack. We have experienced some cold last night and I think winter has started. The IR barrier was once feasible with the heat, but the cold is another story.
So, what did I do? I began removing the IR barrier very carefully , and set it aside to re use.
I began doing what I should have done to begin with, and insulate the roof.
I measured and cut the Poly boards just big enough to squeeze between the 2x4 trusses âŠI did NOT place the poly boards against the roof, you still want airflow for the attic ventilation!! The air between the roof and Poly will rise up and out, keeping the functionality of the soffit/ridge vents. It is important to still allow for proper ventilation for youâre attic!
I will fill any cracks with expanding foam along all edges. I will completely seal this room so I can manage tempts. I have added more to the work load, but I have big plans and donât mind spending the time and money to get this right.
The IR barrier will go back up for added R value, as the truss still radiate temps.
I will need quite a few boards to complete the space so I must make a couple runs to the store tomorrowâŠ
looking great man!! im really enjoying watching your progress and you solving your problems before you actually have them. nice thinking ahead!
When I went and checked on temps they werenât much different from outside air. It was extremely windy and I felt a lot of air coming in from the gable vents. Being that I still have both at each end unfinished for the project, it was hard to get a real reading. Sooo instead of losing sleep over this, I figured it was better to be safe than sorry. Insulate everything first, and proceed from there right? No reason to cut corners on this very valuable investment! Glad youâre here to keep me on my toes bud! @CornbreadJunior
It is looking good. I sure you shouldnât have a problem. The insulation is the key. You got that page finished. Seeds ready?
@Hemp Seeds for the first run will probably be bag seed to see If I can keep conditions well enough. The first real grow will happen after the trial run.
BOG seeds will be ran for preservation runs once weâre are at ideal levels!
I will be running mostly for the community so I need things to be 100%. I would like to do my part and help preserve whatâs important to me and the community. Bhodis story and gear is new to me, sad to say but I am late to that scene⊠I hope to get his gear ran with the others!
I with you on this. Iâm the same way about things. I try a show support. Sometimes it may not come out that way. But lm truly here for that reason. Iâm no pro but I know how to grow. I think your the same way. Weed wants your love. Your touch. It wants to smell you. For one thing is true. Free the seed that can free the world. Peace my friend.
Here I am, thinking that drilling a couple duct holes in the closet is dope diy shit lol, that set up is sick man
Super nice progress @OGSince03 ! Iâm in central U S & am fully schooled on temp swings , Insulation is key . Your doing a great job setting yourself up for success ~ Keep up the good work friend !
@ANorth_SoVT This is not the norm for sure⊠This space will be climate controlled storage after this venture, so I donât mind going the distance.
@Crazy1 Thank you for the generous words!! I believe Insulating will make this all possible!
Just a little update. I was unable to move much this weekend. Iâve had a pretty bad inflamed cyst or boil on the back of my leg so Iâve been resting⊠I did manage to make a purchase being laid up for the last two days.
I did a little research and decided to try out the new LED technology. I have several 1000w hps/mh ballasts but I am not able to run those in this space obviouslyâŠ
I will run one per flowering tent and possibly one for veg/prop. I want to keep the lights linear throughout all cycles, with the exception of intensity. I am still debating a living bed/containersâŠ
I found Oly Mountain compost to be cheaper buying from BAS as they have free shipping on these bad boys⊠The whole bag shipped would cost more than if I got these individuallyâŠ
I also have on the way my Pro-Mix BX
I will finish up my ordering within the next few weeks and try to finish out the area for all you OGâs! Iâm hoping Christmas will be a very special time of year! Cheers!
Iâm glad I seen that thanks so much I like your mixture.
I have faith in what you got going on , take your time and rest when you need to friend . I bet the outcome will be spectacular !
Howdy everyone! I just wanted to pop in and keep this thing alive.
@Hemp Thanks! I still have plenty to purchase as far as medium goes. My hopes are to have everything ready to go by the new year! Holiday time is here so I will be stretched thin!
@Crazy1 Thanks for keeping the faith alive! Much to do but the end results will be well worth it! I always over do myself and pay for it later. Maybe I should be more like the tortoise!
To bring everyone up to speed, I went to the local home improvement monopoly, and what do you know All out of sheet insulation! My next move was to find a employee and ask for assistance with the next shipment info⊠As luck has it, the truck was there and it should be restocked overnight. Yay for another trip tomorrow!
Next⊠I need plywood⊠.5in 4x8 sheets, weâre around $25 a piece. I bought 4 and had them cut to size. I also picked up some crack and gap expanding foam. This will be ran along all insulation edges to fill gaps and help keep the sheets of insulation in place.
After returning and finishing up the honey do list, I headed over to the lab and began some work.
My goal is to basically get rid of any air born insulation floating around. Adding this floor to this area will help me when installing the remaining insulation sheets between the trusses. It will also help contain any floating fiberglass and act as more storage space.
I shall purchase a couple more sheets of wood tomorrow to completely finish it out. I hope to also get what I can afford in more Poly boards if they are available. Iâm thinking maybe another 10 sheets total should do.
On another note, Santa came early!
I thought I would also give some dimensions in case people were wonderingâŠ
My ProMix arrived as well! I will be making my own living soil and have decided on 2x4 beds. I may have to custom make them to fit, but I will purchase a pre made brand to see if I can go the easy route!
I shall return with more goodies in a few days! Maybe if Iâm lucky enough I can get all the Poly boards up and the floor completed in this area. Happy growing all, and best wishes!
Thanks for the updates!!! Going to be a killer space my friend!!!
Iâm all caught up. Looks great .
Iâm looking forward to seeing it finished.
@Sasquatch My pleasure! I enjoy watching everyoneâs endeavors so Iâm happy to offer mine! I kinda feel more accountable with you all watching!
@Brokehoe Hey there! Iâm excited to have you! Itâs been close to 10 years since Iâve had anything running, so please bare with me. Once weâre off the ground there will be some cool things happening! Stay a while!
