Veg- the 4 French macaroons (FM) all had roots popping out of the jiffy cubes. So I planted one in a cup-in-cup (clear in regular) solo cup so I can check to see root growth. I’m trying to dial things in more so the more info I’ve got to work with the more dialed in I can get. The blueberry headband is looking good. And all the bubble gum and alien Bubba are also chugging along just fine. The purple punch in the 1gal pot is happy and healthy. The clones of it I’ve got in the dome on the other hand are lagging behind the FM. They were taken on the same day. All 4 fm are rooted and all 4 purple punch still are not. One looks droopy and like it might not make it. The other 3 look fine still. I can’t wait to transplant the bbg abub and pp into 5gal pots. I can’t wait to see flower 1 (formerly MH1) with 40 or 45 gallons of soil in it.

The frost has come and with it low humidity! I still have the FM plants hanging they are fine I’ve been able to mitigate humidity in their tent by watering flower 2 more frequently and turning the exhaust fan down. The swings still suck because earlier in the week we had rain and 68% humidity in The basement. I bet I still have a day or 2 left. They got chopped on Halloween. Flower 2 is moving along OK. I should have either transplanted the udog girls sooner or fed them sooner. They were showing slight deficiency before transplant and with the low humidity they now have crunchy tips on a good portion of the 3 girls. I’m really trying to get my watering down. after the underwatering of the FM girls it’s real important to me that I figure it out. I’ve always managed to get by but now I really want to dial it in. I’m thinking of buying a probe so I can see where different sections of the pot are drying out or staying saturated.
The veg tent looks OK as well. I’ve been busy with work and a house full of sick people for the last 2 weeks. The garden definitely reflects that. The purple punch clones still have no roots and are all starting to fade. I haven’t had problems cloning this strain before. I’ve ran seeds from this bunch a few times already so I’m sure I fucked up some place along the way. I hope I can get more Than 1 clone from. The pp plant were about to flip. I still have a few seeds left too if not. The blueberry headband is chugging along just fine and the FM clones looks good too. Right now all the girls on solos plus one alien Bubba look good. Everything else looks a bit tattered. At this point I can’t wait for flower 1 to open up so I can transplant and clean the veg tent.

Oh and the whole point of me posting today was to say that now I’m a little pissed about my ac infinity humidifier order being canceled. I could really use it right about now.

Well that’s a bummer…
Something similar happened when they came out with the the new controller. I’m sure they will have it sorted out …In the fullness of time…
You might find a temporary unit at Walmart or similar to tide you over.

Cheers

I have one but since everyone in my house has been sick it’s being used upstairs. There is just so much tech on the ac infinity model that would have helped on finishing up this run.

I may have said this before (because I’ve been thinking about it for the last few months) I think that I’m not adding enough water when reamending my soil. I’m getting deficiencies soon after transplant, when I know I’m adding enough dry amendments. I should probably be adding more compost and worm castings but if I can keep up the moisture I shouldn’t have as much biology die off. And with less biology dying off I’ll have less dramatic swings when compost isn’t as available. I didn’t stock up on compost for the winter. I should have grabbed 4 bags but I wasn’t thinking. I have 2 bags that have laid in the yard for half the summer. They are quarantining in The garage right now so I hope I don’t bring anything into the grow.
The girls drying still need like 2 or 3 days. I know I said it’s getting dry down there now but the first half of the grow was pretty wet.
That’s what I’ve got for you today. Just a couple of thoughts. Take it easy

Flower 1 got trimmed up lastnight. I still have half to do tonight but it’s looking really nice. The stems that are real pale aren’t snapping but I think it’s a structural problem with the limb. I’ve got thicker healthy stems that are snapping. I’m hoping for an Oz per plant but it’s looking like I’m a little shy of that. We shall see when I get it all jarred up.
Flower 2 is looking good. No real excitement here.
Veg is ready for transplant. I’ve got roots on 3 purple punch clones. The 3 dinky ones. The one big healthy one still has not roots and is starting to yellow. I’m going to take another clone or 2 before I flip her. One of the alien Bubba is still looking shitty I’m just going tonsee if I can nurse it back to health and maybe take a few clones from it later on. My 4 FM clones are doing really well and the blueberry headband I’d also looking good. I’m excited to see what comes of her. I’ll post pictures and such tonight when I’m done trimming and maybe even start transplant.

Final tally for the 9 French Macaroons. My first mono crop run. I learned alot with this run. First of all I learned that even though I’m not great at watering the plants can still produce! Now they averaged 15g per plant which isn’t great but I’m happy with the quality and size of most of the nugs. This is more than enough to hold me over for the next 2 months. I’ve got all my trim and larf in a bag in the freezer for a hash run I’ll be doing in the next few days. It will be a mix of my last few harvests. I’ve only made hash once before this so I’m excited to learn more about making bubble. Now I’m only going to be running a few Oz of trim so what I was thinking was to only use 3 bags the work bag (obviously) then the next smaller size down from that and the smallest micron bag. I used all 5 last time and I’m not producing enough to really worry about the different grades. I’d rather just have something that reminds me of old-school hash. Plus trying to dry and keep the different grades was a pain in the ass. I’d rather just take it all out of the bag and spread the whole thing on one piece of parchment and let it dry. If I had more work to run and or a rosin press I’d care more but I like old-school hash so I think this will work out best for my situation.

The first picture is of flower 1. I know what I said about fabric pots but this time laziness won. I had them laying around so I grabbed them. I could have drilled a few holes in a few buckets but it was late and I didn’t. Realistically I should keep trying with the fabric pots. This will force me to figure it out or suffer another shitty ending to this run. You can see the plant in the front right looks terrible. The root ball fell apart when transplanting we will see if she pulls through. If not no big deal.
Second picture is of the veg tent. Man it feels good to have this tent clean! All 4 of the purple punch finally rooted. So now ive got 4 FM 1 blueberry headband 4 purple punch and 1 alien Bubba in the 1gal. I really want to work on vegging my plants out to get bigger yeilds. I’ve got to focus on watering and root development first. Training and topping are easy I need bigger root balls for better health fosho.
Lastly flower 2. The purple punch got over watered. Idk if she will make it. The top like 5 inches of soil are dry but the bottom is making the bucket heavy. I’m just going to wait this out and see what happens. Hopefully she bounces back and doesn’t herm. I just want some PP in the end to smoke this stuff is pretty good.

As of now what I need to focus on is keeping my humidity up, root development, and proper watering. I’ve added more water to my soil that is baking. As to avoid the problems I’ve had in the past. My air circulation is good. I still want to bump up my co2 with a mushroom kit soon but that will have to wait until I have the cash. My Temps are consistent and my lights are fine. As long as I focus on those first 3 things I should be able to bump up the health and vigor of my garden.
I’ve been toying around with the idea of using a mulch layer. I haven’t figured out how I want to go about that yet. The run I did where I used the BAS compost for flower as a mulch layer worked really well. Granted that stuff has flower nutes in it on top of being compost and acting as my mulch layer.
Oh and also those fabric pots should be 5gal but seem more like 4gal and one is smaller than the other 4 so beware of Amazon (like you don’t already know).

My main goal is adequate light coverage with no light leaks, keeping the temp from going to high or fluctuating too much, relative humidity (mostly during flower as you know) and fresh air.
Once I got a decent handle on those things the grow went so much better. I believe my last harvest averaged ~ four ounces per plant.

Temps in my basement are pretty cositant year round thankfully so I don’t need to worry about them. My humidity though is a whole other story. It can go from 42% to 82%. Now that we’ve got snow and frost it stays at like 44%. With every day that passes now I quietly curse Ac infinity for canceling my order on that smart humidifier hahaha as for light leaks I’m the only one that goes in the basement so I have my lights set up with my schedule and it isn’t a problem. The coverage on flower 2 is not great but I still get what I need out of it. I can pretty much put the ts1000 on top of the main colas and it hasn’t bleached yet. This is my 3rd year on that light so I should be retiring it as a flower light in the next few months. I feel like I was focusing more on variety and outside of the garden things alot the last 2 rounds. I mean my baby is for sure worth it but you can see that my garden has suffered.

I had to buy a dehumidifier because I only had a four inch exhaust fan in an 8x10x8 room. The humidity spiked after every watering to a point where I was seeing some bud rot on a few plants that couldn’t handle it. It was a big investment for poor folk as we are but well worth it.

For sure! I’ve got one and it works well but the settings on it aren’t great. I want to buy an ink bird for the basement to kick it on when it’s needed. Mostly for the garden but also it’s good for the integrity of the house. I can’t get down there to monitor the humidity all the time and running it 24/7 costs alot. Knock on wood with the swings I haven’t gotten any pm or bud rott.

Just a few thoughts for the day. I’ll see what Christmas time holds as far as money coming in and out. I want to get the ac infinity humidifier of course but I also want to invest in my soil. I’ve been toying around with a mulch layer as I’ve said before but I also have been looking at bio char and maybe mixing up my micorizae (my apologies for the spelling). I’ve also been continuing my research into vermicompost. I want to start what I’m dubbing the “Bio-Bin” but it’s cold up here so that may have to wait until March or April so the worms don’t die in the mail.
Veg I’ll be popping more seeds in the next few weeks to start another round. I want the clones in veg to be further along before I start a new project.
Other than that everything is making a comeback! I’ve been spending more time in the garden and it’s starting to show!
Flower 1 the wilty plant looks like it might make it. Everything else is looking good. When the medium dries out I’ll hit it with big 6 and recharge.
Flower 2. The purple punch might get pulled. It still looks like shit. The other 4 are looking good though. They are eating up the topdress and chugging g along well! They will also get big 6 and recharge when the buckets dry out.

First picture is flower 1. The plants are liking their new home just fine. The wilted one hasn’t gotten any worse so we shall see what she does in the next few days.
Second picture is flower 2. I pulled the purple punch. It was dead from over watering. It had a really small root system. The other girls are doing okay. I’m still waiting for color to come back to them.
This picture is veg. I transplant the FM clones into 1g pots and topped them. Every one is finally happy and healthu

Hopefully I’ll get down stairs and grab some shot of the girls tonight before lights off. I’ve been working more and my schedule isn’t lining up with lights on. So the other day I culled one bubblegum from flower 1 udog from flower 2 and the alien Bubba that was in veg. You know the longer I grow the easier it gets to cull plants. I checked the roots of all the plants and the one from flower 1 I messed up the root ball in transplant. The alien bubbas roots were pretty small and messed up from over watering and the udog from flower 2 was stunted and 2 weeks behind also from over watering. I’m going to let my plants get bigger in the solo cups in order to ensure they have better root balls. I mentioned before that I wanted to work on that anyway.
Flower 1 the girls look like they are coming back abit. I did some last a few days ago to open a few of the girls up abit. I added a humidifier directly in the tent and it only jumped it up about 12% from 45 to 57% I’ve got to refill it bit I may just put it into flower 2 to try and boot that humidity.
Flower 2 the plants look crunchy. The udog I culled was stalled out and looked about 2 weeks behind the other plants. I’ve got one that looks like it’s about 7 to 10 days behind the other udog and FM. But I’m going to leave it to see what happens.
Veg I culled the alien Bubba. It hadn’t changed for the better in like 6 weeks and it’s roots were not much bigger than when it came out of the solo cup. The rest of the girls look really good though! I topped the FM clones and the blueberry headband I’m trying to bush them out but I’m going to try to use more lst as to not shock the plant into slowing down growth. I really want bigger healthier plants and I think I’ve been topping too soon and too often. I have some environmental issues to deal with I do t need to be making anything harder on myself. The 4 purple punch clones are really taking off and looking g good! I’m going to pop more beans when they are ready for transplant. I might try to pop them right into solo cups and see what that does for the roots. I usually pop them in jiffy pods then they go to the solos so it will be interesting to see the difference. Maybe I’ll do a side by side. I’ll fosho be doing it in a cup in cup. I have really grown to like being able to see the root development. I’m constantly looking at the pp clones roots develop.
